Wrong Judgement Again

NEXT DAY. EVENING:

THE BUILDING WHERE BREE LIVES.

Kaden is here sitting in his car and waiting for Bree. Bree appears from the block entrance. She has on a beautiful black evening gown. She comes towards Kaden's car. Kaden immediately gets out of the car and hurries to meet her. He looks astonished by Bree's beauty. It is written all over his face. Bree notices it, too.

KADEN

Hi.

BREE

(smiles gently)

Hi.

KADEN

You look amazing.

BREE

Thank you.

And Kaden opens the car door for her and Bree gets inside.

Then he closes the door behind her.

A BEAUTIFUL MODERN

DESIGNED

RESTAURANT:

Kaden and Bree enter the restaurant. A waiter greets them at the door and leads them to their reserved table.

AFTER A WHILE.

Kaden and Bree are sitting at their table. Another waiter serves their food and leaves them alone. Kaden can't take his eyes off Bree.

KADEN

Thank you for accepting my

invitation.

BREE

Thank you for inviting me.

KADEN

I'm so happy you are here, Bree.

Bree smiles gently.

KADEN (CONT'D)

Bree, I'm really sorry that I

misjudged you and treated you so

unfairly. Please accept my

apologies. I deeply regret having

hurt you. I will regret it all my

life.

BREE

No, please, don't. I already

forgot about it. Everyone makes

mistakes.

KADEN

Yeah. That was my biggest mistake.

BREE

I'm really okay now, Kaden. Don't worry. Now I know you better. Besides, I think, a lot of people would behave the same way.

KADEN

So have you forgiven me?

BREE

Yeah. We are good.

CUT TO:

BREE'S BUILDING.

Kaden's car stops in front of the building. He has driven Bree back home from the restaurant. They are still sitting inside the car.

BREE

Thank you.

KADEN

No, thank you, Bree. It was the best evening of my life. Thank you for everything.

Bree smiles softly.

BREE

Okay. I will go now. Have a good

night.

KADEN

Good night.

Bree gets out of the car and starts walking towards the block entrance. Kaden gets out after her at the same time. He calls after her.

KADEN (CONT'D)

Bree!

Bree turns to him.

BREE

Yeah?

KADEN

Can you please, come back to the

office? Please?

Bree smiles. She thinks for a moment. She needs a job anyway and the job in that office is really good. So she smiles and

BREE

Okay.

Kaden is happy.

KADEN

So I'll see you at the office?

BREE

Yeah. See you.

SERIES OF SHOTS:

Kaden and Bree are at the office. Working. Drinking coffee together, talking, etc. They both enjoy being around each other. Especially, Kaden.

APARTMENT:

ITS BALCONY WITH A SEA VIEW.

It's Kaden's private apartment. He mostly stays in his parents' house with his sister, Olivia. And he uses this place as his own private corner.

He is talking to his sister on the phone.

KADEN

Yeah. I invited her to my place

for dinner today.

We hear Olivia's voice through the phone.

OLIVIA

Oh, you invited her to your

private corner? My God, my

brother! You are in big trouble

called love!

KADEN

(smiles)

I guess I am.

At this moment the doorbell rings.

KADEN (CONT'D)

(in a hurry)

Ok, Olivia! She is already here!

Talk to you later!

OLIVIA

Okay, okay! Say hello to Bree!

Kaden hangs up the phone and hurries to the door. He opens the door. Bree is standing there.

BREE

Hi.

KADEN

Hi.

They look at each other for about ten seconds. Bree is still standing at the door. Kaden suddenly realizes that he hasn't invited her in yet.

KADEN (CONT'D)

Oh, sorry, come in, pelase.

Bree comes in.

KADEN (CONT'D)

I hope you didn't have much

trouble finding the place.

BREE

Oh, no. It was easy.

She looks at the place.

BREE (CONT'D)

You have a very beautiful

apartment.

KADEN

Thank you. I'm happy you like it.

So why don't you live here?

KADEN

Oh, I use this place just to have some privacy from...

BREE

(joking)

Olivia?

KADEN

(laughing)

Yeah. You can say that.

They enter the main living room. The table is already set.

KADEN (CONT'D)

Please make yourself at home.

Dinner will be ready in a minute.

BREE

The smell is awesome. What is it?

KADEN

I've made steak with tarragon

mushrooms.

BREE

You've made? You can cook, too?

KADEN

Oh, I can do a lot of things.

AFTER A WHILE.

Bree is sitting at the table. Kaden is serving dinner. And suddenly Bree sees the salad.

BREE

Oh my God! Russian salad!

Kaden smiles with a pleased look on his face.

KADEN

Yeap.

BREE

It is my favorite salad!

KADEN

(smiles)

I know.

BREE

How?

Kaden looks at her and smiles.

KADEN

I have a special agent who gives

me information about you.

BREE

Olivia?!

KADEN

(smiles)

Yeah.

BREE

Don't tell me you made it, too?

KADEN

Well, I made it.

BREE

Really?

KADEN

Really. I could've ordered it but I wanted to make it for you with my own hands. Hope you like it.

Bree tastes it and closes her eyes in delight. Kaden is watching her.

BREE

Mmmmm... It is awesome! I think it is the best russian salad I have ever tried!

Kaden gives a satisfied smile.

BREE (CONT'D)

I didn't know you have such

amazing cooking skills.

KADEN

Well, there is a lot you don't know about me yet. But I hope we can get to know each other better soon.

Bree says nothing and just smiles. She got a little shy.

Kaden sees it.

KADEN (CONT'D)

(smiling gently)

These red cheeks again.

BREE

What?

KADEN

Your cheeks. They turn red everytime you feel shy. I noticed it at the care home when Mrs. Fylan said that I was your boyfriend.

BREE

(trying to prove that he

got it wrong)

I'm not shy! And I wasn't shy

then, either! Why would I be?

Kaden even loves her way of trying to prove him wrong. It's written all over his face. He is just enjoying it! He loves everything about her.

KADEN

(just smiling)

Yes, you are. And I love it.

CUT TO:

KADEN'S PLACE. THE SAME LIVING ROOM.

They have already finished eating. Kaden is talking to his friend, Zach, on the phone. Bree is not in the room. She apparently went to the washroom. We hear Kaden's phone conversation with Zach.

ZACH

(his voice through the

phone)

Hey, what's up? The farm girl

called. Now she is ready to sell

it to you. What did you do?

KADEN

Nothing. I just made her an offer she couldn't refuse. Everyone has their price.

At this moment Bree appears at the door and she hears the last phrase: "Everyone has their price". She stops to listen. Kaden's back is to her and he doesn't know she is there. Bree can hear only Kaden. We hear both Kaden and Zach.

ZACH

(through the phone)

No, really. What did you do?

KADEN

You know me. I know how to handle these things, bro.

ZACH

I thought that farm was a lost

cause.

KADEN

I told you I'd get it. And I

always get what I want.

ZACH

Yeah, I know. Whatever, man, you

are great as always! I have to

hand it to you.

KADEN

Ah, no. Besides, she wasn't that

difficult. It took me just two

days. Everything is about money.

After these words, Bree can't hear it anymore. She quickly takes her bag and storms angrily out of the house, slamming the door behind her. Kaden reacts to the sound of the door.

KADEN (CONT'D)

Zach, wait a minute.

Then he goes towards the door to check if it was Bree. KADEN (CONT'D)

Bree?

She is not there. Then he quickly checks the bathroom and sees that she isn't there, either. He comes back to the room and suddenly, from the balcony window, he sees Bree leaving.

KADEN (CONT'D)

(into the phone)

Zach, I'll call you later.

And he quickly runs after Bree. Now he is outside coming behind Bree, calling her. But Bree doesn't even look back.

KADEN (CONT'D)

Bree! Bree! Where are you going?

What happened?

She doesn't answer. She has tears in her eyes. Kaden finally reaches her and grabs her hand to stop her. Bree angrily pulls her hand out of his grasp.

BREE

No! Don't touch me!

KADEN

(doesn't understand

what's going on)

Bree, what happened?

BREE

You know what? Just forget it!

That was a mistake!

KADEN

What was a mistake? I don't

understand.

BREE

Thinking that you can feel something for me... Thinking that you can actually feel... I forgot you, rich guys don't have the heart for that!

KADEN

Bree, what are you talking about?

BREE

I heard everything, okay? Everything you said! It took just two days, huh? Everything is about money, right?

KADEN

(still confused)

What? What are you...

And suddenly he realizes what's actually going on.

KADEN (CONT'D)

Wait a moment... Oh my God! No!

That wasn't about you! I wasn't

talking about you, Bree!

Bree turns around and starts striding angrily towards the exit.

BREE

Just leave me alone!

KADEN

Bree, that wasn't about you! I was talking to Zach about a lady who sold me her farm!

But Bree is not listening to him.

KADEN (CONT'D)

Bree, please, let's go inside and talk about it.

BREE

I said leave me alone!

They are already at the exit. And just then a taxi appears on the road and Bree hails it. The taxi stops. Bree turns her face back to Kaden to say her last words.

BREE (CONT'D)

(in tears)

Do you know what hurts the most? I really started feeling something for you! And I really believed I meant something to you! How stupid of me!

KADEN

Bree...

BREE

(angry)

Don't come after me!

And she quickly gets in the taxi and leaves. Kaden is devastated. He doesn't know what to do. He doesn't even fully realize what has just happened.

Then we see Bree in the taxi. She is crying.

BACK TO KADEN:

THE SAME NIGHT. KADEN'S HOUSE.

He is sitting on the sofa. His phone is in his hands. He dials Bree's number and listens. Bree's phone is switched off. He suddenly notices Bree's silk scarf on the sofa. She left in such an angry hurry that she forgot it.

NEXT MORNING. THE

OFFICE:

Kaden is checking to see if Bree is at the office. But he can't see her anywhere. He finally stops an assistant passing by him to ask about Bree.

KADEN

Where is Ms. Dane?

THE ASSISTANT

Oh, she quit the job this morning.

We can tell the news broke Kaden's heart.

OUTSIDE BREE'S

APARTMENT DOOR:

Kaden is in front of the door and ringing the doorbell. Bree unwillingly opens the door and when she sees Kaden, she wants to close it again. But Kaden stops her by gently holding the door.

KADEN

Bree, please...

BREE

Why are you here?

KADEN

Bree, we have to talk.

BREE

We have nothing to talk about.

KADEN

Please, Bree! Please! You didn't

even give me a chance to explain

the situation. You have to at

least hear me out.

BREE

I don't have to do anything! I've heard enough! I don't want to hear anything you say anymore! I don't want to see you anymore! So please, just leave me alone!

KADEN

You are doing the same to me! You completely misunderstood the conversation! You just heard a part of it and now you are misjudging me!

BREE

That's it! I'm not going to listen to all this from you any more! Just leave!

KADEN

And she shuts the door. Kaden can't do anything. She won't listen anyway.
