A month had passed and Connor was sat playing with sumo when he heard Hank talking in the kitchen. He stood up and walked in the direction of the noise then stood outside the room, eavesdropping...
"And you're 100% sure you can do it? I know, I know it's just... I don't want to forget him. I've got big plans for him... maybe... I still need to buy it still but- what if he says no. How can I be sure? That's true... thank you so much though Kamski, you're a literal lifesaver. We'll see you in a few weeks then. Thanks again, bye" Hank whispered "he'll be so excited..."
Connor walked back over to sumo trying to work out what hank meant. He knelt down and stroked Sumo's fur.
"Hey Connor" Hank beamed, walking in the room
"Lieutenant..." Connor started
"What? Is something wrong?"
"We're you on the phone to someone?" He looked up at Hank
"Why'd you ask?" Hank was cautious, he forgot that Connor could probably hear him
"I just heard some muttering and you say Kamski. Are we going to visit him?" Connor asked, acting as if he hadn't heard
"Well, actually yes... we can't go for a few weeks though since he's busy. I was just arranging what day to go over there. I felt like we all needed a chat again after what happened last time" Hank knelt down and started stroking sumo too
"That'd be nice. Did he say what he was busy doing?"
"Not really, just that he'd started back at cyberlife and was filling out a lot of orders, making new middles ect, ect"
'New models...' Connor thought to himself
"I guess that means we're back on his good books?" Connor asked
"I suppose so yes... which means you've got one b***h who could report you. And one guy who started doing this s**t and will help protect you"
Connor smiled slightly then turned to Hank.
"Hank... what do you think happens when you die?"
Anderson pulled his hand away from Sumo and crossed his arms. His face darkened again then he sighed.
"I- I don't know Connor... maybe it's just all f*****g over. There's a stop to everything around us. Maybe you start life again as someone else. We won't know until we experience it"
Connor nodded and looked down. He then gently grabbed Hank's hand, taking it in his own and intertwined their fingers.
He shuffled until he was sat on Hank's lap and placed his head against his chest. He could hear the loud thumping of his heart.
"I don't want to die..." Connor whispered, then looked up at Hank "I don't want you to die..."
"Connor... as much as I'd like to live forever... humans have to die eventually. If we don't then we just get older, weaker, more fragile. We start breaking easier and feeling more pain. In a way death when you get to that age is... well it's f*****g great"
Connor whimpered a bit and wrapped his arms around Hank as if to say 'don't you leave me'
An hour passed and the two had decided to take sumo for a walk. Connor had Sumo's leash since he was stronger and more capable of restraining sumo from running.
Every time sumo pulled on the leash Hank let out a small chuckle as he watched Connor try to pull the big dog back.
A few people stopped them in their walk to pet Sumo. A few also commented on the fact Connor was an android.
"He's so cute!" One woman said
"The dog or my Android?" Hank snickered
"Well... I suppose both" she smiled, petting sumo who loved the attention
"Got that right" hank beamed wrapping his arm around Connor
"How long have you had that android for then" the woman asked, looking up from her petting
"Close to three months now"
"No deviant behaviour?" She cautiously asked
"None at all" Hank lied "but even if he did would it matter? Most of the deviants just want freedom and to be happy. Is that such a bad thing?"
"I suppose not..." the woman said standing up "anyway I'll let you continue your walk, have a good day" she walked away
Connor smiled as they continued walking. Hank had started to defend the deviants. Connor was happy. He one he loved had changed for the better. They had continued to hunt the deviants who hurt their masters but any deviant who didn't harm anyone they let go. They only wanted to be free and Hank didn't consider that a problem.
They turned a corner and had a gun pointed at them by a larger male in mostly black.
"None if you move or I'll shoot!" He ordered
"Alright, alright, we're not moving. What do you want" Hank snarled
"I've seen you two around and it sickens me! An android and a human?! It's disgusting!" He pointed the gun at Connor
"I swear to f*****g God if you shoot him... you'll be dead"
Sumo let out a loud bark and Connor's grip on the leash loosened.
"It's a f*****g machine! A piece of metal! There's millions just like it! What difference does it make if I shoot this one"
"There may be many like Connor... but not to me there's not... he's special and I f*****g love him"
The male tightened his grip on the gun and was about to fire when Connor let go of Sumo's leash and yelled "SUMO ATTACK!"
Sumo barked and bounded at the man who fired his gun. Connor and Hank both dodged the bullet.
Connor then ran at him and punched him. He went to fire again but Connor grabbed the gun. Another bullet was fired, but this time it hit Connor.
Connor pulled the gun out of the man's hand and slapped him across the face with it then kicked him in the lower regions causing him to fall. Sumo jumped on top of him and snarled.
Connor pointed the gun at him.
"I could kill you right now" Connor hissed as Hank shuffled behind him "but I'm not going to. I may be a machine but I'm alive. I love this man and nothing will separate us, you hear me?" Connor bent down and put the gun in a sewer drain so the man couldn't pick it back up. He grabbed Sumo's leash and continued walking.
Hank ran after him "Connor that was amazing... you could've killed the guy but you d-" hank started then realised the bullet hole in Connor's arm "s**t, Connor he f*****g shot you"
"It's fine Lieutenant" Connor added
"No its f*****g not. He f*****g shot you"
Another hour later and they had arrived back home. They were sat on the sofa, Connor with no shirt on. Hank had cleared the blue blood from Connor's arm and started to bandage it.
"Stupid piece of shit... trying to f*****g kill you..." Hank grumbled
"Lieutenant it's fine" Connor lightly smiled
"No Connor, it's not f*****g fine! What if he had shot you in the f*****g head or chest? You would've died Connor!" Hank yelled "you can't die on me... I couldn't..."
Connor wrapped his arms around Hank in a hug. Tears began to form in Hank's eyes again. He wiped them away and hugged Connor back.
'Kamski needs to hurry up before one of us gets hurt... I couldn't live without this asshole' Hank thought, tightening his grip around Connor
