Panic

~Lilly~ I could see it in his eyes. That primal need to control me and claim me as his own. I would be a fool to say that the man was not attractive, but that look in his eyes scared me. There was no love behind his eyes because we did not know one another. All I saw in their depths was a need to claim me and make sure that the world knew I was his. "Lil you okay?" Cam asked as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders. The man's eyes grew narrow and I swear I could hear him growl as he watched us. I felt my breathing grow shallow and my heart rate picked up as murder filled his eyes towards Cam. "I... I need to go," I whimpered softly, trying to force my body to move. However, both my body and Zion were forcing me to stand in place and face my mate. I wanted nothing more than to run out of the bar and go home, but I couldn't get my body to agree with that plan! "We just got here," Allison whined pathetically, causing Avery to roll her eyes at her sister. "You can stay. I want to go." My voice must have been shaky because Cam stepped in front of me, blocking the man from view. I felt my body start to work again and unconsciously I began to gasp for the air I hadn't been breathing in moments ago. "He's here, isn't he," Can whispered to me so the others wouldn't hear. Nodding, I looked at my cousin. "Please... I don't know what to do. Zion wants me to go over to him..." "What do you want to do?" "Hide," I admitted softly. "I told you I didn't want to find my mate and now I know that he works in the castle and what he looks like. I don't want to tell my father either because he will plan my wedding for Sunday!" "Lilly calm down," Cam whispered softly, pulling me into a tight hug. "It is all going to be okay just take a few breaths. You do not have to figure out your life right this minute." "I am the next in line for the thrown. My life has been planned out since I was five!" Whimpering, I clung to his shirt trying to ignore Zion's pleading with me and the aura of blood lust coming from my mate. "How come when I get a little bit of freedom the world wants to take it away from me?" "Its okay, Lilly pad. We do not have to figure this out right now. You and I will get out of here and go home. We can all watch movies and drink there." "It'll be cheaper anyway," Avery offered, happily giving me a hug from behind. "Fine, I'll hunt for women later," Nadelle grumbled, putting a tip on the table as everyone stood to create a wall around me so we could leave. Smiling softly, I nodded to all of them and we quickly began moving towards the door. "Where are you all going in a rush?" A teasing voice asked as he stopped us from leaving. Frowning, I looked at my friends and saw that our little formation was surrounded by 3 men with their backs not covered at all. However, what really suprised me was the fact that my mate was not one of them. In fact, he was still where he was originally. "That is no concern of yours." Cam growled as his alpha aura grew larger. Cam did not take being cornered well especially when 4 of his favorite people were being held there at the same time. "You have something that belongs to our brother, and I think it is unfair that you leave with it." The man to our left snickered as he eyed me. "Especially when he has not even gotten to say hello." I opened my mouth to talk back when a loud voice silenced the bar, "Enough!" I knew in an instant it was my mate and I began to shake from my fear and Zion's excitement. I watched him as he walked closer and closer to us stopping beside the man in the front. "River, I told you to knock it off!" "But bro..." The man whined. "No! She is not property and she knows I am here. If she had wanted to meet me she would have come over instead of fleeing." The man growled. The two men at our sides moved to the two brothers. They were still blocking our path, but now they were not surrounding us. "But didn't you say that you wanted to meet her?" The man called River sighed. My mate frowned softly and nodded, "I did and I told you that as my brother and friend. Not so the three of you could try and intimidate her and her friends. This is not what I wanted and you know it." "But Brother, have you finally found her and you are letting her go?" "She is not mine to make stay!" My mate snapped, stunning me. He... he had no desire to force me to stay and his brothers were just curious about his mate. Before I could stop myself, I fell into a fit of giggles. My mate looked at me stunned and my cousins looked at one another, not sure what to do. Smiling softly, I placed my hand on Cam's arm to tell him it was okay as I moved to stand beside him. "T...Thank you," I whispered softly. My mate nodded with his eyes wide in shock, "I am sorry that I ran." "You have your reasons, I am sure," he smiled softly. "I do... but you seem to be different than I expected," I admitted softly. "Thank you for not forcing me to stay." "You are not property. I told my brothers that and apparently their curiosity got the best of them." "It tends to do that," a large red-headed man said as he picked up River. "Sorry for this one, but he cannot help himself." "Are you finally off work Cameron!" The man squealed, hugging the man. "They told me to get you and your brothers out of here," The man sighed, carrying him off easily. The other brothers followed behind him but my mate stayed where he was. "I think he meant all of you," Cam growled, wrapping his arm around me. "I..." My mate frowned at Cam but nodded, "I am sorry they disturbed your evening." He gave us a soft bow and followed his brothers. Frowning, I watched him leave, "hes..." "Different," each of my cousins said in unison with smiles on their faces.
