"Mrs. Molly is still going to be there right?" she asked, looking at him.
"I don't abandon the people I love, unlike others I know. Or maybe you never loved me" he shrugged. She could see right through him. He was trying his best to cover his hurt by nonchalance.
"If you can't have a decent conversation with me, I'm not coming with you" she said.
Ah so she just was going to ignore that was she. Great! He didn't say anything else. Once they reached home, Nick got out and came to her side. He held the door open for her.
"What a gentleman" she said.
Nick looked at her, was she being sarcastic? No she wasn't.
"Won't you carry me over the threshold?" she smirked. She was playing, was she? Alright then.
"I intend to, my lovely wife" and he picked her up, not bridal style, but like a sack of potatoes and put her over his shoulder.
He pushed through the door and walked fast. They saw a stout woman looking at them in horror. "Good evening Mrs. Molly" he greeted as he climbed up the stairs.
She timidly nodded. He was very quick and didn't waste time. He took advantage of the fact that Honey was still contemplating and he quickly took her to his room.
"Wha..what are you doing? Nick!!"she screamed in his ears. He jerked his head away. She knew she had to do something very quick. She bit him on the shoulder. Risk worth taking!
He groaned in pain as he let her down and shut the door. The room was the same, nothing had changed. She got up and ran behind the seatee.
He was very swift and thrust aside the seatee, making her move backwards and in no time he had her back to the wall, hovering above her.
"What I'm doing? Only following your orders, your highness. Is the room to your liking? Or something amiss?"
His eyes fell on her tender and pink lips. It looked so soft and inviting. He had missed kissing her soft lips, he dared admit to himself. He remembered the feeling but was ever ready to explore again.
He touched his lips to hers.
Oh this was the only thing amiss, she melted in his arms. It wasn't anything like before. When she didn't respond he softly bit her lower lip.
He knew her very well. She gasped and he slid his tongue into her mouth. She balled her fists and pushed him by his chest. He pulled back and stared at her in amazement.
She has become stronger. Not bad, not bad at all.
"Are you saying you don't want me to kiss you?" ge sounded surprised, for he was sure she was looking at him like she couldn't wait to devour him.
"Not what I'm saying. I just needed tk breathe" she muttered.
He chuckled to himself. She smiled, trying to move away. She knee how much he liked the chase. He caught her by her waist, laughing, half dragging her to bed.
"Slow down there tiger" she laughed.
His strong and masculine body pinned her to his bed. He looked at her and she smiled. Was she this happy when she walked out on him without so much as an explanation? Suddenly he felt as though he couldn't breathe. "Long time huh Honey" he exclaimed. His tone was so unwelcoming. She sucked in a breath. What changed? Her eyes were filled with disappointment as she turned away. His index finger rested under her chin, making her look at him.
His eyes weren't filled with hatred anymore. She saw something else, something that resembled the desire she had seen years ago. "It's been five long years" he calmly stated. "Five years, my my, must seem I don't know how to count" she spat sarcastically.
He laughed at that. He looked so tension free and cute when he laughed. She wondered how she had stayed for five years without this man. She hadn't realised that she was smiling looking at him laugh.
She closed her eyes when she saw him raising his brow. He missed her immensely but there was no way he was going to forgive her for what she had done.
Though he wouldn't accept, he had suffered quite a lot these years. He wanted her to know how it felt to be let down by someone you love. He couldn't find one ounce of guilt or disappointment in her.
She wouldn't even have thought about me.
He bitterly thought to himself and here he was, missing and thinking about her the whole time.
She opened her eyes to see him walking off. He shut the door with a bang and disappeared. She sat up, clutching her head. She couldn't let him toy with her.
Just how did I let this happen? I can never forgive him. I won't let him come close to me ever again. I am not a plaything he can use and throw!
She adjusted her shirt and walked out of the room. She noticed that nothing had changed after all. The wall was red, as she liked. She remembered choosing the colours with Nick.
She remembered the happiness in his face when this house was ready to move in. He had told her that this house was as much hers as his. She was very happy with him..
She didn't want to remember the incident after. She just didn't! She looked around and sighed happily as he wasn't anywhere to be seen. She saw the stout woman who was there before as she climbed down the stairs and froze.
"How are you, Honey?" the woman asked. Honey smiled. She hugged Mrs.Molly, like she'd never let her go. She always treated Honey like her own daughter.
She was the cook who loved Honey the first time Nick had introduced her. Mrs.Molly hugged her too. Tears escaped her eyes.
"I missed you so much, Honey!" she spoke wiping away her tears. "Where were you all this time? Didn't you remember us at all, these years, how did.." she managed to choke on her sob, looking at Honey.
Honey smiled weakly. "I'm sorry I couldn't stay. I just want you to hold me close Mrs.Molly" she whispered. "Now now" she started, hugging her as Honey cried her heart out.
"I have got the answer. You're staying here with us, aren't you?" she asked looking Honey in the eyes.
Honey looked down. "I have to get going Mrs.Molly but you have to know that you are the only person I miss. You're like my mother, really but I'm not staying with Nick" she finished.
Mrs.Molly sighed. "What happened between the two of you?" she asked desperately. "You were so happy together. Every couple envied yours. What happened?" she asked holding Honey's hands.
