The Alphas Sun

Simon Only three more days and the ceremony takes place. I have no clue what to expect, the other packs will arrive in great numbers and I know we will be mocked. So many wolves have left us to join the other pack houses over the last three years. I grab my bag and set it outside my room. The maid will be around to pack everyone’s things since we leave in the morning. I link my future beta Tyler “ Are you ready to leave in the morning? It will take two days to get to the Mountain Pack so we must leave on time” “Yes Simon I am ready and will be training with the younger warriors one more time before we leave” “Excellent, I’ll meet you and the others at dawn by the rivers edge” We didn’t know what to expect when we arrived at the Mountain Pack. Since the death of my mother, our Luna Anastasia, everything was falling apart with the River Pack. She was the glue that held our pack together and my Father Alpha Leon had fallen ill shortly after only adding to the chaos. Many had left us for the stronger packs, the Mountain Pack and the Forest Pack. Our pack house was cozy but simple and very quiet since the death of my mother. I was alone in this journey. Not only was I turning 18 and shifting for the first time but I wasn’t sure my father would be alive when we returned. I would be Alpha and the pressure to find my mate would be on. Eva I ran through the forest edge back to our pack house. Only three more days and we would all be 18! I couldn’t wait to shift, my wolf was ready and I could tell she was wild! My father Cole was Alpha of the Forest Pack and my mother June was his Luna. They stood on the front porch of the pack house barking orders to the maids who were packing for our trip. I rolled my eyes at them as I approached. “Eva you are absolutely filthy!” my mother screamed. “Go and draw yourself a bath and get ready for bed, we have a long trip tomorrow and I want you looking your best when we arrive” “Mother do you have to care so much about what others think?” “It’s a matter of pride Eva and you should have some for your pack. Now go upstairs and get ready we must leave on time in the morning.” I knew better then to talk back with father standing right there. I headed towards my room. I new I disappointed my parents daily and they so wished I would be more like my sister Charlotte. Charlotte was perfect for the role of Luna for the Forest Pack, she was just as beautiful as our mother and as ruthless as well. She showed no mercy to anyone including me. She should’ve been born first and everyone felt that way. I just wanted to have adventures and see more of the world then our forest and the pack house. After I got cleaned up I went to my closet, I put on a night shirt and shorts and looked at the outfits mother left for me. They were so fancy and looked so uncomfortable for traveling but I knew I had no choice. I decided the red knee length dress would match my blonde hair and brown eyes the best. I grabbed my black shoes and my necklace with the sun. I loved this necklace and it always made me think of brighter days to come. Simon Today was the big day. We all arrived at the Mountain Pack in time for the ceremony. Do to our pack being the smallest we were given rooms by the kitchen but I didn’t mind. I was finally 18 and would shift for the first time! I was waiting for Tyler to meet me at the gates so we could enter the arena. As we walked in each pack had a section marked off for its members to sit. Our pack was of course the smallest section. There was a raised seat where I was to sit so I made my way to it. I linked Tyler to sit behind me in case we had trouble, it was hard to say what could take place at any moment. Although we were invited to be here, I certainly did not feel welcomed. Shortly after I took my seat I saw the members of the Forest Pack arrive. I saw Alpha Leon and his Luna June make their way to the podium to sit with the other leaders as their daughters took their seats. I recognized Eva right away, she hadn’t changed since we were kids. Her long blonde hair and brown eyes matched her red dress perfectly. Her dressed hugged her in all the right places showing off her curves. I was startled by the growl I felt rising from my chest but stopped it before it came out. Could she see be my mate? There was no way her parents would allow that! Before I could think more about it I saw her little sister Charlotte stroll in like she owned the place. Typical Forest pack I thought. Her hair was a darker blonde and only shoulder length and her eyes were as blue as the moon. She wore a pink dress and much like her sister it showed off her nice body. There was an arrogance to her that made it hard not to roll my eyes. After the Forest Pack was seated the Mountain Pack entered the arena. Alpha Stone and his Luna Athena walked in with such grace that the arena fell silent. They held their heads high as their triplets Blaze, Titus and Nora followed in the same fashion. The triplets were turning 18 today as well and took their seats amongst the crowd. Alpha Stone stood up to the microphone to announce the ceremony. “ Welcome to the Mountain Pack Arena” his voice boomed! “ It is a very special occasion that each of our packs leaders have pups turning 18 on the same day” Then the members of each pack began to howl and cheer in honor of each of us. Alpha Stone raised his hands in a signal of silence and everyone stopped to hear. “Please come to the main stage Blaze of Mountain Pack, Titus of Mountain Pack, Nora of Mountin Pack, Eva of Forest Pack and lastly Simon of River Pack.” I couldn’t help but wonder what was going through everyone’s mind as we made our way to the stage.
