From the first time he arrived at this village, he still didn't know how to communicate with them, and not to mention how to tell them his real name. That's why later, they gave him a name called "Haruto/Yáofēi", which meant "fly far away" as the young samurai was flying far away from his home to here. It's easy for them to call him by his name. Yoshisuke also doesn't mind. Maybe in this new environment, it's a new chapter of his life, with a new name. A few days later, one evening, when he had just returned from a nearby town to meet some daily needs, the farm village had already burned to ashes. He was so panicked that he was afraid something would happen to the elderly couple. When he arrived at the house, it was already burned to ashes, and he only found the elderly man lying in the front yard, wounded very badly, but the elderly woman was nowhere to be found.
Haruto: "Uncle, hold on...!!! I'll take you to see the physician..."
The elderly man: "Don't bother... me... get my... wife..."
Haruto: "Where???"
Elder-man: "Inside..." (pointed at the house),
But the house was completely destroyed, making it highly unlikely the elderly woman survived.
Haruto: "Don't worry... I'll find her later. But now, we've got to treat your wound first..."
Elder-man: "No... It's no use... I know my body... Don't waste your energy..."
Haruto: "Who did this?? Tell me...!!!"
However, the elder man doesn't tell him anything, knowing Haruto will find them and seek revenge. Then Haruto still insisted on bringing him to see the physician who lived behind the hill, not far from this village. However, just halfway, the elderly man had already passed away. Then the next morning, he took out the elderly woman's body from the burnt house. He buried them both together, not far from their house. Then some of the village survivors who had managed to run away appeared in the village to find their family's bodies to bury them as well. Then Haruto asks them about what happened last night, and they explain to him. Turns out a group of bandits is trying to raid the villagers' house with force. The rumor said some of the bandits were once soldiers who ran away from the army camp for some reason. Of course, the villagers tried to stop them, but the bandits were furious, as they couldn't accept what the villagers had done. That's why they started to kill anyone who stood in their way. Those bandits raided those villagers' houses after slaughtering them. Finally, they burnt the village to ashes. Then he asks them where those bandits are heading. One of them saw those bandits heading southeast. Surely, Haruto couldn't just let them run away like that, so with the sword in his hand, he ran in that direction, and hopefully, he can find those bandits and avenge the villagers; since it's already 12 hours, he is not so optimized that he will find them. Moments later, he finally found them when they were resting at a tea stall beside the road. It was just those bandits he saw, not the full team, as most of them weren't there. There are about 6–7 people. Maybe they had separated into two teams in the middle of the road, as most of them had returned to their base to bring the valuable things that they had snatched from the village earlier. However, he was still not sure if those bandits were the ones that he was looking for. He also rests at the tea stall while he eavesdrops on their conversation. Indeed, they were talking about the village that they raided and even said about slaughtering those villagers when they were begging for mercy. It appears they not only raided one village but also raided others previously. Since he is still hesitating, he can't wait anymore, so he decides to confront them directly.
Haruto: "The village that you're talking about... was that southeast of here??"
Bandit 1: "Huh?? Who the hell are you??"
Haruto: "Just answered my damn question..."
Bandit 2: "What's wrong with this guy???"
Bandit 3: "Hey... Don't bother him, maybe just a lunatic..."
Bandit 4: "Yeah..."
Haruto: "I'm not crazy...!!! Answer me, you pathetic, sick bastard...!!!"
The bandits became provoked by Haruto’s words, looking displeased. One bandit stood up and approached Haruto threateningly.
Bandit 2: "What did you say? Are you tired of living, pal??" (gets face-to-face with Haruto),
Then, during the argument, one bandit accidentally admitted that they had indeed raided a village southeast of there the previous night.
Bandit 3: "So what??? What does it have to do with you, huh??"
Bandit 1: "Shut up...!!!"
One of the bandits, still seated, scolded his friend, making it clear they shouldn’t mention such matters in public. He then addressed Haruto directly.
Bandit 1: "Listen up, lad... Today we're in a good mood. Don't ruin it... You'd better leave now, before I change my mind..."
