My body went rigid.
My wolf growled, wanting to see our mate safe, but I couldn’t leave just yet. Elle is safe. She’s at home with dozens of pack warriors protecting her, and besides, she wasn’t alone there. She wouldn’t try to leave since the twins and even Emma were there.
She’s safe. She’s fine.
I straightened my body and suppressed any nasty emotion I felt for this man so I wouldn’t try to rip his head off if he turned out to be bluffing.
But the fear and the slight shook in his voice tell me otherwise.
