The Future Alpha

"We need to get out of here River, and we need to get out fast, his Aura is strong he is an alpha, a very strong Alpha, there is no way he hasn't smelt that we are rogue." Hestia panicked. " You don't think getting up and running out in the middle of my graduation would set him off!! As soon and they call my name, I will get my diploma and sneak out the back." The rest of the graduation is a blur. I can feel his eyes on me, and I swear I feel him let his Aura out little by little. It's strong, but it has no real effect on me. "RIVER SMITH!" ..... "RIVER SMITH!!" I jump up when I hear Mrs. Jackson yell my name again. I work to control my breathing and my walking. I know I can't tip him off. If he thinks I am going to run, there is no telling what he might do. I shake Mrs. Jackson's hand and thank her for everything she has taught me. I see the edge of the stage.. Here is my chance...My one chance to get a head start. I don't know where I'll go, I can't lead him back to my house so I'll need to throw him off my scent, try and confuse him, then go home pack my stuff and run like hell. "You ready, Hestia?" Just as I step off the stage, I turn toward the woods and run, I couldn't have been running for more than a few minutes before I smelled him. "How did he find us so fast! DAMN IT!" "Now isn't the time for stupid questions, River!! Run!!!!" Hestia growls, "There is a river up ahead, go through it strip while you do, then we climb the first tr..." Before she could finish her sentence, I hit the ground with a force I didn't know was possible. My entire body hurts as I lay there, waiting for him to kill me. "Good hell, woman, why did you have to run, and how the hell do you run so damn fast without shifting!" He is standing above me, his hand stretched out in front of him like he is offering me help up. "Are you hurt? I am sorry I hit you so hard, but s**t you never would have stopped otherwise. Why were you running in the first place? Were you trying to get yourself killed?" I couldn't get my mouth to work, I just stared up at him. God, he is a beautiful man, "Hestia?" "Mmhhmm?" Hestia mumbled back all but drooling in our mind "Is he our mate?" I ask. "He doesn't smell like a mate should, but Moon Goddess above does he smell good and he is a God, look at those arms, and those eyes!" " Calm down, girl, I swear to the Moon Goddess if he smells our arousal. I'll find a way to murder you myself!" I hiss back at her. The Alpha clears his throat, " If you are done arguing with your wolf, I have a few questions for you, and for the fact that you entered into my territory about 2 miles back, I think you're gonna need to answer them now." He offers his hand once again, this time I take it, allowing him to help me to my feet. My whole body hurts after he tackled to the ground. "What does he mean 2 miles back? This is no way we ran that far,the nearest pack is 20 plus miles away, I should know I've studied the pack territories for years making sure never to get too close to their borders and we couldn't have been running more than a few minutes." I ask Hestia but she is too distracted to listen and that's when I finally see what she is so distracted by... The Alpha stands over me like a tower, his raven black hair, his forest green eyes, the jaw line of a God, skin like a sweet butter caramel. As I stare at him, his laugh breaks my trance. It's deep and loud but sweet as can be. " Do you have a death wish little wolf? First, you run from an Alpha, right on to that very Alpha's territory, then you stare the Alpha in the eyes." I quickly look down and lower my head, "I am sorry Sir, please forgive my ignorance." I whisper. "I will forgive it for now, but I do have questions, you can answer them here, informally, or back at my pack house in the dungeons, the choice is yours this time, however if I smell even the slightest bit of dishonesty from you, I'll kill you right here." I tremble slightly as I answer the Alpha " I'll answer your questions here." He points to a rock near by, "Sit down then." I sit where he tells me to and watch as he sits on a rock close by, "First off, is your name really River?" "Yes, River is my real name but not Smith, Lightshade is my real last name" "Lightshade as in, Beta of the Eclipse Pack Lightshade?" I start to shake, if I lie...I am dead... If I tell him the truth, I am dead... truth it is I guess, "Yes, My father is the Beta." "That can't be, they reported you died 4 years ago in a rogue attack. Yet I smell no decent from you, so for now I will believe you. If you really are the Beta's daughter, why do you smell of rogues? Have you been living with rogues in town?" "You mean why do I smell rogue, not smell "of" rogues?" I ask feeling confused by his question...it must be a mistake right? " No, you don't smell like a rogue, just like you've had them rubbing all over you for days. So again, have you been living with rogues in town? If so, are you planning an attack on my pack?" "Hestia? What is he talking about?Would I not smell like a rogue? Weren't we declared rogue when we left the pack?" "I don't know River... We smell rogue to me." " I am getting impatient River, stop talking to your wolf and answer my questions." I look down and bare my neck to him to show my respect, "I am sorry Alpha, I am just confused by the question, I have not been living with rogues, I was declared rogue when I ran away from my pack 4 years ago. You are the first wolf I've been this close to in years. I know nothing of an attack on your pack, Alpha." I can feel him staring at me, his eyes feel like lasers burning holes into me, I slowly raise my eyes to look up at him and that's when I see his eyes are no longer forest green but pitch black...his wolf has come to surface and I start to shake... This is when I die.
