Week 2 Designing Characters

605 Words
Aubrey - Background: Aubrey came from a loving two parent household. Her mother and father were high school sweethearts and still very much in love. They doted on her and her father was her hero. They were inseparable. After her father died in a car crash when she was five she started to close herself off. Her mother became abusive and she began to internalize that abuse and fell into depression. She completely shut herself off from everyone and felt that the abuse she was going through was her fault. She was picked on at school and was isolated and alone.  Personality: Aubrey is emotional and easily hurt because she takes everything that happens to her to heart. She cares for others but as time progresses she becomes cold and hardens her heart learning to distrust everyone and feeling that everyone who is let in ends up hurting you in the end. She secretly hopes for a happily ever after, but loses hope and just wants the pain to stop.  Physical features: Aubrey is short, thin and frail looking after many years of neglect. Her skin is pale, her strawberry blonde hair is brittle and her blue eyes don't have the lively shine in them that they would if she wasn't haunted by pain and depression. Although she is beautiful she feels that she isn't attractive.  Social relationships: Rose - Aubrey's abusive mother. When Aubrey's father Jacob died she became a recluse. Her sadness turned into substance abuse behind closed doors and in her fogged and emotionally lost state her mind twisted into a hatred for her daughter. She learned to school her features and put on a front. She was able to fool people into thinking Aubrey was a liar and she weaseled her way out of the spotlight easily.  Jacob - Aubrey's father. Her hero and her best friend. He was funny and kind. She looked up to him and put him on a pedestal.  Kristine- Aubrey's first and only friend. She defended her from bullies and was her protector and shoulder to cry one. Tides turned when she betrayed Aubrey in the worst possible way.  Jack - Background: Jack comes from a "broken home" in technical terms, but not quite. More like a fixed home. His mother had escaped an abusive father and they moved to a new town far away from him. It wasn't long before he noticed Aubrey. He saw the signs of being abused in her and he tried to help as much as he could. He reported it to the schools, he tried to tell his mother who, more than anyone, should have taken it more seriously. He was Aubrey's unknown protector. Always in fights defending her against the kids that picked on her in school. He looked after her, not only as a kid that had been through the same, but as a boy that loved a girl and would do anything to keep her safe. Personality: Jack is a fighter. He is strong minded and believes in right and wrong. He is a survivor, a protector, and he loves fiercely. He is shy though, and he sticks to the shadows trying to blend into the background as much as possible. He can't ever seem to find the nerve to talk to Aubrey even though he desperately wants to. Physical Features: He's a good looking guy. He has black hair and shocking green eyes. He's different and it's striking. He is tall and muscular from all of his training so that he never has to be the victim again. He dresses plain so he doesn't stand out.
