Chapter 16 "What?!" Licht exclaimed halting Lark from going further by tugging at his arms. His words shocked her so much she forgot about maintaining distance. "I'm sorry but I'm pretty okay with where I am now." She said immediately disagreeing with his request. She noticed his frown and see that he was pissed off but so was she. Everything was going so fast and suddenly asking her to sleep in the same room with him was too much. Just deciding to stay with them is already asking too much if she had to say. She crossed her arms and stopped in the middle of the hallway. He mirrored her stance, even pushing his chest to show dominance. Licht quirked an eyebrow, if he thought he could just intimidate her, he had another thing coming. Completely forgetting that she was scared of the very same man just earlier she stood her ground. "I'll stay on my current room." She told him and he simply shook his head. "No." "Yes!" "No." "YES!" She shouted at him, standing akimbo. She glared at him daring him to tell her no again. He suddenly smirked throwing her off. Here she was pissed at him and he had the gall to smirk at her! Her eyes narrowed further, the color of amethyst shone brighter in anger. He matched it with his own eyes turning darker, amusement showing clear. "Don't you smirk at me mister! What do you think is so amusing, huh?" She huffed, this man is throwing her off so much. Is this also the effect of this mate-bond thing? He chuckled first before snaking his hand on her waist and tugging her close to him. She squeaked in surprise, quickly grabbing his shoulder to support herself. "You're not scared of me anymore." He said smiling cheekily at her, Licht could only look at him with her mouth agape. "W-well, that isn't important right now!" She sputtered, her cheeks tinting when she noticed the way her body molded to his and that smug smile of his. It was both irritating and making her feel weird things. "Honey, that is very important. That means you're starting to trust us." He said, this time smiling sincerely at her. Oh she could get lost in that smile and now that she's this close to him she noticed that there were actually specks of blue on his otherwise dark eyes. She didn't know how long she stared at him and be hypnotized but when she came to she had her arms on his neck and she's standing on tiptoes as if to shorten their distance. She quickly struggled trying to get away from him, she was getting dizzy having all of her blood rushing to her head. He reacted by tightening his arms on her waist. Looking away she said to him, "Let's talk about this after lunch and get some clothes please!" She closed her eyes trying very hard not to get mesmerized again. She was having a hard time putting her hands anywhere on him since the feel of his skin burned her palms. Lark chuckled at her innocence, teasing her by pushing her more to him. "I don't know, we should really talk about this now. Clothes are not important." He said making her look at him incredulously. She hit his shoulder her brows furrowing. "Of course it's important! You know this can constitute as s****l harassment. On minor!" She huffed, "I should call the police on you." She stated and he laughed. "Intimacy between mates is not s****l harassment." Was his reply though now that she said it, it only dawned on him that she was only seventeen. And while age doesn't matter that much to werewolves, even he knows not to touch any minor inappropriately. "Don't call the police on me okay? I just want to shower my love with affection." He flirted using his trademark smile. Licht hid her face with her hands. That was so embarrassing! "Fine but you really need to put clothes on, you can't eat half-naked!" She exclaimed, ah any more than this and she would really faint. She felt him put his head on top of her, grinding his chin on her hair. "What if I don't want to?" He asked, "John and the others are already used to see me naked anyway." He continued which caught her attention. "Huh and why is that?" She asked confused, Lark shrugged. "We often shift together so it's something we're used to." He answered her and she only nodded. Then she paused, her eyes narrowing. "Wait when you said them you mean Andrea too?" A quick jolt traveled her heart and it was painful. She glowered at him not liking the feeling. "Yes, like I said it's normal for us." He said and she doesn't know why but she hit him again and again, this time she was definitely frowning and grinding her teeth. Suddenly she just felt like hitting him for what he said. It was normal for him to be seen naked by other girls, this damn werewolf. He endured her hits and maybe she was only hurting herself than him but the fury and jealousy filled her up. He wasn't supposed to be parading his body to other women, he was hers right? "You're not allowed to that anymore you hear that!" she shouted while hitting him. She stopped when her hands began to hurt. She was heaving after, her intense purple eyes trained at him as if asking him to defy her command. Lark did his best not to smirk and chuckle at his mate. Her hits were like tickles and he adores how cute she was when jealous. Of course that boosted his ego and made his wolf happy. He wasn't even mad that a human basically commanded her. She was already being possessive of him and he loved it. "Of course I won't. I already have you. My body is for your eyes only." He teased but she was still agitated that the teasing was lost on her. "Of course it's mine. Now go and put on some clothes." She commanded again, her hands folded across her chest. This time he couldn't stop the laugh bubbling from his throat. "Aye, aye my love." He responded and he hauled her up, holding her under her knees. The sudden movement made her grip at his head, squeezing it to her chest. "Whoa, where are you taking me?!" She shrieked clutching his head tightly in fear of falling. "To our room. I'm putting clothes on, remember?" He replied cheekily as he started walking to his room. He had to admit he liked her position right now. She was so soft and she's clutching at him like a lifeline. "You don't need me for that. Let me down!" She said to him but he only shook his head. She cursed at him while holding tight, she just discovered that she's afraid of heights. Now she's not that small standing at 5'7 but on the hands of a 6'5 something man, the floor felt pretty far. "Of course you do. Take it as a room tour since you'll be staying here as well." He replied just as they arrived. He opened the door and deposited her on the bed before going inside his closet. Licht let out a sigh of relief of being put down only to realize what he said. "Hey I haven't agreed to that yet!" She shouted at him. He returned wearing a simple black v-neck shirt, he took her hand and led her back out. "I'm not taking no for an answer my dear." He replied as they walk back to the dining room. Licht dug her heels on the floor -which made no difference by the way- as she tried to stop him. "I said no and you're going to accept that." She struggled to make him stop yet he just hauled her up making her scream at him again. "And I'm saying I'm not accepting that." He said now starting to get pissed off, her constant rejection is making his wolf antsy and it doesn't like that she's disobeying them. Besides being with him is safer that letting her sleep somewhere far from him. "It's not a choice, it's safer to stay with me. Now behave." He ordered, still she voiced her opinion. He had to stop himself from releasing a frustrated groan. Humans! They're so indecisive. Licht was about to say something to oppose him again when a loud rumbling came from her stomach. She blushed at the embarrassment and her hands flew to her stomach as if to silence it. She forgot that she hadn't had a meal since breakfast and arguing with him was taking more of her energy. Lark shook his head in annoyance, he was pissed at himself for letting his mate go hungry. "Look let's eat first and talk about this after." He offered and she smiled at him sheepishly while nodding. "But you should really put me down first. This is scary." She pointed out and he laughed as he put her down on the floor. When they arrived at the dining room John, Clara, Jake, Andrea and Maris are already there eating and chatting to themselves. The older woman noticed them first, a hand on her hips as she looked at them in disappointment. "Now where have the two of you been? The food's gone cold and we've already started eating a while ago." She scolded them but a curve of a smile was playing at her lips. Lark shrugged as he guided Licht on the seat next to his. "We're just sorting some things." He replied looking at Licht for confirmation and the girl nodded her head shyly. Feeling all eyes on them, the uncertainty bubbled up and she felt like hiding behind Lark to escape them. Feeling her mood he quickly diverted their attention to him. "Licht is hungry, I hope you can warm the food Maris." He said smiling at them, while his right hand settled itself on her back and he rubbed it feeling the tension slightly ebb away from her. She looked at him in gratitude and he replied with a small smile, patting her back and settling his hands on the curve of her waist. At least she wasn't tensing up again but he could see that she was still shy about it, her earlier sass were thrown to the window the minute they walked in but she regained her courage as she lifted up her chin. He looked at her proudly, acknowledging her strength against the heavy atmosphere. Maris smiled unaware of their interaction as she clapped her hands and turned around to take the tray containing their food. "I already did that. Now eat, you must be very hungry now Licht." She eyed the younger woman who only smiled at her guiltily. "Let's eat." Lark prompted raising his fork as he watched Licht take her first bite. Only the clutter of silverware can be heard as they continued with their lunch. A few small talks here and there mostly from Andrea who gushed at how she was so happy that they decided to stay. Licht laughed at the older girl's antics, she was so bubbly compared to her and Clara. She had a feeling that they'll get along well. Her eyes travelled to her friend who seemed to have accepted their fate easily more than her. She watched as she leaned to John and a few brushes of their body and the man answered by wrapping his hands on her. She looked so happy and she could see the love reflected in her eyes as she sometimes steal a glance at her mate. Licht felt envious at how she could show her affection so boldly while shyness and embarrassment was eating her inside. This turn of events really showed her that people really have different strengths and weaknesses. She sneaked a glance at Lark who was laughing at something Jake said. He looked so handsome and the longer she looked at him, the more butterflies wreaks havoc on her stomach. But no matter how infatuated she gets from him, there was still something guarding her heart from fully falling. Or maybe it was her that was still putting her walls up. She just don't know how to react at this situations. Should she just let herself fall? But just the slight touches made her feel sparks that she's scared that she already fell down so deep where she can't crawl out. As she continued to stare at him, he turned to look at her and smiled though he quirked his eyebrow in question. "Is there something on my face love?" He asked and she came back to her senses and shook her head while shooting him an awkward smile. "Nothing." She replied, stuffing her face so she doesn't have to answer and look at his face more. She felt him shrug and turn to the others again. She sighed under her breath while berating herself mentally. Why are you thinking so hard, just accept him already! She told herself. Yes, nothing will progress if she kept being so indecisive and always questioning her decision. She's Licht, she has pride and she's not a coward, if Clara can do this so can she. But then again... She decided to listen in on the conversation around her as she worked up her internal struggled. Just in time to hear John gushed about Clara accepting to room with him. Licht almost sputtered when she saw her nodding her head shyly when Andrea tried to confirm it. She bit her lips as her thoughts weighted heavily on her mind. Maybe she shouldn't be as hard-headed as she's been about this mate-business. Her heart almost stopped when the others looked at them, the dreaded question coming out of their lips. "So how about you. Are you going to room with Lark?" It was Maris who asked, smiling like the proud mother that she is. Licht gulped looking at Lark, she noticed his darkening expression and the clear hurt on his eyes. Her heart plummeted to her stomach, seeing him look like this was painful for her. Finally coming to a decision, she saw as he tried to tell them but she quickly took his hands in her and he turned to her in question. She managed to give him a small smile and a nod trying to convey to him her approval. She then turned to the others, wetting her dry lips first before looking back at Lark's surprised face and this time smiling broadly. "We're sharing a room too." She announced then feeling his hand squeezing hers, she felt a burning gaze at the side of her face. She turned to him again to see his eyes asking her if she's sure. She nodded her head then squealed when he suddenly picked her up and twirled her around. "Oh my love, you just made me so happy." He said grinning at her, she laughed loving the way his eyes shone. Her heart soared at the absolute delight on his expression. Seems like she made the right decision after all. "Okay that's enough, let me down now. It's still scary." She said, biting her lips as she just can't stop smiling. Yes, maybe this could really work. -- After their lunch the two couple left the others to pack their bags. Having them in the same room isn't just for the sake of them wanting their mates near but also because of the threat those rogues possessed on them. They have to have them close to them in order to protect them. The two men wanted to help the two girls pack but was quickly shooed out. As if they'll let them see their undergarments, besides they only have a few articles of clothing that Licht only had one baggage and a backpack while Clara only had two baggage with her. When Lark saw how little his mate has he quickly mind-linked Andrea to bring their mates to the mall to buy more clothes. He grabbed her things and took her hands in his as he lead the way to their new room. When they arrived, he felt her tugged at him as she looked at the room in apprehension. He stopped to look at her, waiting for her to step inside on her own. He had no idea what made her decide to accept his request but he isn't going to push her now. She's already skittish enough and he mustn't do anything to scare her anymore. Which is harder said than done. He really isn't the most patient wolf out there. And he had to admit that he's more prone to getting angry than the average person. Still he waited patiently for her to make up her mind and after a few moments she seemed to have come to a conclusion and finally took a step inside. He smiled at her encouragingly when she looked at him sheepishly. "I'm sorry, it's just. It's a huge hurdle." She admitted to him and he nodded in understanding. He led her to his bed, putting her bags beside it before asking her to sit anywhere she liked. She looked around first then she sat on the new chair in front of the fireplace. He couldn't help the smile that flitted to his face. It was the space he made for her mate, and he was glad that despite what happened on that spot before she still chose to sit there. He watched as she tested the chair, her face scrunched up as she traced the leather. Everything that he wrecked the night before were already cleaned and replaced by new furniture. It was as if he didn't tear this place up. Maris, Jake and Andrea did a great job putting all of this back within such a short time-frame. Though he never doubted the older woman not to do such a seemingly impossible task. Like he said, he was prone to anger and Maris often had to replace his things so they already have similar furniture in their stockroom. "Something doesn't feel right with this chair." Licht suddenly said bringing his attention back to her. He chuckled nervously at her. "What do you mean?" Licht shrugged, leaning more on the soft chair. "I don't know, it just felt different. I mean maybe the atmosphere just felt different." She trailed off and he winced at the implication. Now he just wants to ram his head on the wall. His mate already have a bad memory regarding him and his room. Maybe they should pick another room. "Do you want to pick another room? I understand if being here makes you uncomfortable." He said trying to please his mate. She turned to him, shaking her head and her hands in front of her. "Oh, no need. Haha. It's fine. Here's fine." She chuckled unsure, standing up and walking in front of him. She looked up at him, seeing the conflicted look on his face. She took his hands on her and squeezed it in reassurance. "It's fine. I'm sure we can overwrite that memory." She offered and he almost melted. Here she was unsure of everything but still trying very hard to face her fears. His girl is so brave. On instinct he placed a chaste kiss on her lips freezing her up. When he leaned back he watched as she stiffened up and a pinkish hue started to color her cheeks, her eyes wide in surprise. "Did you just?" She asked as she held up her hand to touch her lips. She was still looking at him as if she can't believe what just happened. He waved his hand in front of her fearing that he broke her. "My love, are you okay?" He asked though a sly smile just curved up his lips. Her reaction satisfied him. "Was that your fist kiss?" He asked, a mischievous glint can be seen from his eyes. She woke up from her stupor and immediately hit him. "Why you!" She poked him her brows furrowed. She was so embarrassed yet the tingling feeling on her lips lingered. She bit the inside of her cheeks. He was teasing her again, and then she suddenly remembered her promise. But she was clueless about this kind of things, he was right when he said that it was her first kiss. But it wouldn't be her last. She bit her lips and looked down, she wasn't a great actress but she remembered how she used to con her parents to take pity on her when she was a kid. She frowned, thinking what she could do to trap him. And while she was thinking hard on possible ways to get him, Lark took her silence badly and wondered if he really upset her this time. And here he was just thinking that he shouldn't do anything to provoke her from thinking of leaving him. He leaned down at her, his hands on her chin as he gently lifted it to look at her. Just in time for Licht to produce some fake tears, good thing her eyes easily waters just from not blinking. His eyes widen in alarm as he saw her tears, "Don't cry, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that." He said flustered, wiping her eyes and cradling her cheeks on his palm. He apologized to her over and over again that she almost let out the laugh that she'd been suppressing. When she finally had her fill of his worried and sorry look she finally relented and stood on her tip toe to reach his lips and kiss him. It took him by surprise and she smiled at his reaction but was quickly overwhelmed when he held her waist and dominated the kiss. It was her turn to be surprised, then she felt a prick on her lips when he bit into her. She opened her mouth in pain only for him to deepen the kiss and entangling her tongue with hers. It was both hot and immense. She felt him probe the inside of her mouth and she couldn't help the sound that came from her throat. She couldn't keep up on the ravenous kiss as she surrendered and let him maneuver her. He only let her go when she hit him on the chest hinting him that she was on the verge of losing breath. She watched in daze as he released her lips and tilted back with a satisfied look on his face. He grinned devilishly at her which snap her back to reality. Her face burned at the realization of what just happened and she hid her face on his chest. He won again to her chagrin. "That's s****l harassment." She mumbled her voice a bit muffled by his chest but he still heard her clearly making him laugh. She felt his chest bounce at the motion, her heart flipping at the sound of it. When the burning feeling passed, she get out of his hold saying that she needed to pack. She turned away from him heading to her things. Lark only shook his head as he put his hand on his pockets. Things just got interesting. ---- A/N: Yes, I'm back! My surgery was a success and although I still can't walk without my immobilizer and crutches but it's getting there. I just started my PT and I hope I can go back to work already. The first week was painful and I was really cranky but since I'm fine now I decided to write again. Now this came late because I got an idea for a new werewolf x Japanese myths story and I had to write it. The idea came when I'm still under anesthesia. Those things are potent and apparently good for creativity. The response from my last update was really overwhelming. I didn't know people still read this and actually liked it. You guys gave me motivation to finish this chapter quickly. Thank you for your support! Anyway I hope you like this chapter, I just want them to be flirty and all but I have no first hand experience of kissing. Yes I'm 20+ and still has no first kiss. Unless I count my parent and siblings which I don't. Happy hearts day to everyone and happy independence day to me. So yeah that's all. See you on another chapter! Comment and like. Thank you.
