Elizabeth's pov He looked down at me with an expression that was unreadable to me. For a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of something—pity, regret, maybe even sorrow. But it was gone as quickly as it came. He stepped back, out of my grasp, and without another word, he walked out the door, leaving me behind once again. “No.” I collapsed fully to the floor, my sobs echoing through the empty room.
