Chapter 29 - Night Sky

1702 Words
After our talk, we have decided to split and just went on our way. But before that, we had to post something on social media, so that our families will not suspect anything, like seeing us together. It was against our will but we have to for the sake of our plan. It was something I never did before...  "There will be a lot of comments, for sure. Knowing Alec..." Sam commented before we split.  We posted it on Alec's platform. I've checked and he has thousands of followers. Of course, as foreseen. I'll not be shocked if my inbox would be bombarded with hate messages from his fangirls. Also, I kind of thankful that their relationship was still not known. In that way, I wouldn't be label as anything like a relationship wrecker.  That's the very least thing that I wanted to receive.  "Where do you want to go?" asked Simeon as he drives to nowhere.  "I felt like I don't know you," I started. "I know we just started this relationship but for some reason, you felt like a stranger to me. I only know your name, some basics of your information but deeper than that, nothing." His face became serious. While I fixed my eyes on him, venting out.  "I'm not demand anything though. I just don't want to be left clueless, Simeon. I am your girlfriend." I looked away. Something hauled inside me thinking about it. I know nothing about him and that made my heart sunk in dismayed. Although he talked about family and such, shares what activities they usually do, yet more profound than that, no.  I wanted to know about him, and the rest follow. As for me, other than my issue with my family, I have nothing to share as I ain't really a complicated person, my parents are.  "I'm willing to wait until you share yourself with me." I let out a deep breath, leering at the buildings outside. "For now, I wanted to know your thoughts you pointed out earlier." I've been curious. He was strangely quiet while we were in the shop, only spoke if he doesn't like one's idea, and only open his mouth if I ask him. And even if we're alone now, still... He'd only ask me and once he gets the answer, he'd fall into the silence again and that frustrates me.  "Where do you want to go?" he asked again. The car stopped when we were caught in red light. Crossing my arms, I decided to close my eyes, completely ignoring his question.  "Baby..." he called. "I'm asking you." "I don't know," I replied. "Wherever you prefer, as long as it's not crowded and definitely not in chaos." I heard him chuckled but I never bothered it. "Alright... In a quiet place, then we'll talk. Stop sulking now. You'll know every bit of me starting today, Lia. Every bit and I hope you won't run after gradually revealing myself to you." Opening my eyes, I sat straight and stared at him fiercely. "Why would I run?" Shrugging, he started to drive along with the other cars. "I might scare you. In the following days, I know I have to tell you something you know that doesn't exist. Sadly, it does." "Like what?" A wave of confusion crossed my face. "I'm not getting you, Simeon. Just drive straight and let's talk about everything about you." "Slowly, baby..." I fell into the depths of silence. He was spitting something I couldn't even understand. His words only added to my tremulant, it makes me eager to find out everything that connects to him. I don't want to be clueless anymore. "How about the business Alec was talking about earlier?" I asked him. "Making a lot of money? What kind of business, Simeon?' "It's nothing illegal, baby. Trust me on that one." "Tell me..." my voice sounded weary. "Tell me things I don't know, Simeon." He let out a deep breath and I could feel the car moved fast. His hands were holding the steering wheel so tight as if he was holding back. I could see his knuckles turn white and I don't know if he's angry or what because of my nonstop questions. But I don't care. I wanted to know. My heart is aching for him. I felt like we were both strangers inside our relationship and that was something I don't want. I clearly remember that I'd wait for him until he voluntarily opens his mouth to tell me everything but for this time, I realized that I can't.  "My sister, Emory has lost her best friend weeks ago, and until now she's still mourning, Lia. But have been working and practicing a lot to hunt that person who killed her friend out of thirst..." "What do you mean, Simeon?" Fear creeps through me. And I didn't know... He did not tell me about what his sister is going through right now. Was it the reason why they suddenly stopped that day when I went to their house when his sister arrived? She was mourning, and still... They were all grieving with her for losing a friend.  "Simeon..." I called again.  "Emory has been losing her s hits right now, Lia. She has been training day and night and I have to be with her! F uck! My sister is just twelve... and now planning to join our family's dangerous work." My lips pursed. Dangerous?  "I'm not getting anything, Simeon. Please, explain." I almost screamed in fear when he drives too fast that I had to grip on tight on the seat belt. Then quickly, he drifted and stopped the car on the side. When he looked at me, my heart drops in fear.  He looked serious... His jaw was tightly clenched and for some reason, I felt scared. I felt like he turned to someone else... Someone who's dangerous... Darker, and grim. Even his hands were gripping the steering wheel too tight that I thought it would break.  The corners of my eyes warmed up. "You looked scary..." The moment my tear fell, his face softened. He blinks numerous times, staring at me with confusion in his eyes but the realization hits him. He quickly got rid of his seat belt and pulled me closer for a hug.  "I'm sorry, baby... I'm sorry." I felt him kissed my hair, while I nuzzle on his neck, trying my best not to totally cry. I am so emotional... Seeing his angry face directed at me sent a shiver down to my spine. He was angry because of me... "I'm sorry..." I shook my head. At some point, I know it was partly my fault. I was forcing him to talk without even knowing if he was ready to open up. I pushed him to speak, and I didn't know that they had lost a friend, and talking about it might have triggered him real bad.  I know how much he loves his sister. It does not matter if only half of their blood is related. I could it in his eyes how much he was affected by her, yet without proper knowledge, I seized him to talk.  "I'm sorry," I genuinely apologized. "I didn't know. I'm so sorry, baby..." He hushed, tapping my back, comforting me. "Don't be sorry, Lia. You didn't know, so it's clearly not one's fault. And I'm sorry for I looked at you that way. I was lost for a second." See? I should be the one comforting him but here I am, giving him problems. I think I just added to his stress.  "I pressured you," I insisted. "I should have wait until you're ready." He pulled away from the hug and stare at me with his now gentle eyes. Even put aside my stubborn hair that covers my face. Then, he smiled and I think I got lost.  "When we arrived at our destination, I will tell you, okay? I am ready, Lia. I just don't know where to start and I was kind of nervous... But I feel grateful at the idea that you wanted to dig deeper just to know something about me." I sniffed and pursed my lips more. "The fact that you're my boyfriend is enough reason for me to know you. We're in a relationship, love. I should know things about you that you permit me to know." He smiled again and my eyes automatically close when he leaned on, then a drop a kiss on my forehead.  "We all have time to know each other slowly, baby... Slowly..." I nodded. "Okay..." After we settled the small argument, he started to drive again. I think I was too tired that I ended up sleeping in the car, then just woke up and the first thing that welcomed me was the dark sky. My whole system panicked. My head was spinning because of my sudden rise. Even my heart was pacing due to fear. I don't know where I was, and the surroundings...  "Wait..." I whispered.  I could see a bonfire across me. The sounds of waves were familiar in my ears, even the trees that surround me brought me a familiarity feeling deep inside my heart. And the lights... The warm lights I've been dying to see...  "Oh god..." I stood up and raise my head to look at the warm lights. There was something in a warm brown that brought peace to my heart, the tranquility... The harmony... Added the cold breeze that slaps on my skin gently, the sounds of trees dancing through the night sky, and the chirping of birds... My head turned to the side when I heard a sound. And there, I saw him, staring directly at me with his smiles.  "You're awake..." He walked towards me. "You must be hungry, baby." "We're here..." I uttered under my breath. "Yup..." He stopped in front of me, sneaking his fins in my waist. "Below the night sky, baby. We're here, again. And alone in this beautiful night sky." Everything vanished for a while. In this dark night sky, we stood. Forgetting everyone that holds us from being together.  "I love you, Lia."
