The cackle of laughter which resonated from inside the room sent a chilling tremor down to Ella’s spine. She shuddered involuntarily and slowed her steps to shamelessly eavesdrop. She had been pacing the door outside the ceremonial chamber for long minutes. A gloomy silence followed the rictus, and it was all that she could take. Like a fierce warrior, Ella barged into the room ready to once again act as Sam’s savior only to come to an abrupt halt. Her breath hitched at the daunting sight, her blood running cold.
