Rex moved a few steps,
his eyes were full of anger. He was thinking about every bad thing Julian had done.
The fire escapes, the death of his family members, the cold water, the years of hiding, Luna and Clara being held captive. And Kilo, fighting to the death because of Julian's greed.
"I will not be you," Rex growled. "And I will not let you take anything from me again."
He raised the machine gun, pointing it at Julian. "You talk about control. You talk about traps. But I learned the most important lesson from Kilo: The distraction is the person doing the job you can’t do."
Julian looked confused for the first time. "What are you talking about? Kilo is done. She's gone."
"Kilo was the distraction for your guards," Rex said. "But Ghost was a distraction for you."
