She climbed the dais and began the benediction, “We seek your presence from the outset of this program, and we've enjoyed it; we say receive our thanks. Thank you for the awesome edition of the music contest. We pray you will spare our lives to witness next year’s edition. Thank you for answering our prayers and as we pray in Jesus’ name!” Mrs. William said and handed over the microphone to the MC. “Amen!!” the audience said. “A round of applause for Mrs. William as she saunters back to her seat,” MC said. The audience clapped and screamed as Mrs. William sauntered back to her seat. “It’s alright, everyone. Now, we have come to the end of the program; everyone should wait for his or her delicacy…,” MC said. Some gunmen entered the hall unannounced and began to shoot the ceiling. “Nobody, must move! But if you move, I will shoot you!” the gunmen’s head, Maverick said. “Let them move because I need blood,” Mark said, and the threesome laughed. “I can see that there is money in this organization, so we’ve come for ours,” Roman said. “Everyone, lie down now!!” Maverick said. Everyone lay down fearfully and began to grasp for breath. Maverick sauntered towards the dais, he climbed the dais. “Mr. MC, so you could be this fearful. Why not rise up and co-ordinate your audience?” Maverick said and smiled. He used his left shoe to hit the MC's head. MC couldn’t retaliate, he only feared for his dare life and faced down. “Mr. William, are you there? You are wealthy, you know. Why don’t you give us some money? Are you scared? C'mon, you don’t have to be scared!” Maverick said. He released a bullet and the audience became more afraid. “We are not here for you all, we are here for the money. So, if you co-operate with us, you will all go scot-free. Now, we need the checks,” Mark said from where he was standing and nobody stood up. “Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear him?” Don’t make me angry!” Roman said and pointed his g*n to a man lying on the floor. “Masked man, please, don’t kill me. The cheque is not with me,” Samuel said with a quavering voice. “Roman, leave that man alone!” Maverick said. “Alright, boss,” Roman said and took the g*n off the man. “Ladies and gentle men, do you like my voice?” Maverick said. “Yes, we do,” the audience said fearfully. “Alright, if you want me to keep this same voice, we need the checks now!” Maverick said, and nobody stood up. After about 30 seconds later, Roman said, “Boss, you can see that these people are obstinate. We can’t handle them with a levity hand. Let me use one person as a scape goat,” Roman said, and shot a woman who had been breathing profusely. The woman screamed and died. “Well, all deserved! I can see you people don’t want to yield to my instructions. I will count to three, and if the checks don’t get to my hand, you will see the real me. One…, two…,” Maverick said. Before Maverick could count up to three, the contestants ran to the dais. “Here are the checks!” they chorused. “Bravo!!” Now, put them down and move away!” Maverick said. Sadie, Abraham and Miles dropped the checks on the dais and moved away. Maverick picked up the checks and said, “You little brats want to spend all this; that’s not possible, you know.” “And these people are gathered to gaze at the madness being displayed here!” Mark said, and the gunmen laughed. “Please, remember to invite us for next year’s edition of this program. William, can you hear me?” Maverick said. “Yes, sir!” William said fearfully. “That’s good. Here with me now is 12, 000 USD; we are rich!” Maverick said and the gunmen laughed. “Yes, we are!!” Mark and Roman said. “Good. We have been standing outside since the program began and these fools didn’t notice our presence; I guess they had been carried away,” Mark said. “Yes, they had been carried away by frivolity,” Roman said. “Thank you for the money! We will come around by next year. Guys, we have to leave here now!” Maverick said as he stepped down from the dais. “Let’s move!!” Roman and Mark said. The threesome walked out of the hall as they guarded themselves with their guns. When they got out of the hall, they unmasked their faces, hid their guns and left the hall vicinity. The audience stood up and began to run out of the hall. “We still have our delicacy intact; you can wait if you are still interested!” MC said as he stood up. The audience ignored him and continued to move out of the hall. Sadie sauntered towards her mum who was standing at one of the pitheads. “I have been looking for you, mum…,” Sadie said as she gazed at Aubrey. “I have been looking for you too. You look sad; we will talk when we get home,” Aubrey said. “Alright, mum,” Sadie said. “Let’s go home now,” Aubrey said. “Mum, bring your bag,” Sadie said as they sauntered towards the car. “It’s not necessary, Sadie; save yourself the stress,” Aubrey said as she turned her neck. “Alright, mum,” Sadie said. When the twosome got to where the car was parked, they opened the doors and entered the car. They were both sitting in the front. Aubrey wore the seat belt, she started the car and controlled the steering wheel. The car moved slowly away from the hall vicinity.
