When she was close to the door of the room, she glared at the door and knocked. “I am coming…,” Hazel said. She stood up from the bed and walked towards the pithead. “Good morning, my queen,” Hazel said as she opened the door. “What is good in the morning?” Queen Alexandra said. She hissed and walked into the room. “Hey, queen Caroline, or what do you call yourself? Can’t you see me? Oh, you've lost your vocal organs,” queen Alexandra said. “My queen, I am not blind; I saw your reaction to my daughter just now. So you can’t expect me to greet you,” queen Caroline said. Queen Alexandra laughed and said, “It’s not your fault. Let me see how you will give that foolish king a male child. After all, you've only given birth to this thing.” “I won’t stay here and watch you insult me and my mum; I am respectful of your age; if not, I would have f****d you up,” Hazel said. “You want to f**k me up? You lie! Besides, who gave this shabby thing the temerity to speak when a rightfully-married queen is talking?” queen Alexandra said. “Woman, you should at least respect the fact that we are all queens,” queen Caroline said. “Queens under my feet. I can only see just a queen in this palace, and that queen is me. Other queens are counterfeits,” queen Alexandra said with a glare. “Oh, I see. Mum, can you tell this woman to leave this chamber this minute,” Hazel said as she gazed at queen Caroline. “Well, I haven’t seen a person born of a woman that could carry me away from this room. Invaders, you have to leave this palace!!” Queen Alexandra said. “My queen, I am not in for any quarrel with you this morning; what do you want?” queen Caroline said with a low tune. “Leave the pretense, foolhardy. Do you think you came here for enjoyment alone?” queen Alexandra said and glared. “I don’t get you; you are talking in parables,” queen Caroline said as she gazed at queen Alexandra's face. “You are daft, you know. Who is supposed to do the cooking today?” Queen Alexandra said. “It's you, of course!” Hazel said. “Yes, it’s you!” queen Caroline said. “You two are mad! My daughter did the cooking yesterday, and we all know that the cooks are changed daily,” Queen Alexandra said with a glare. “That's a lie! I did the cooking yesterday,” Hazel said. “Yes, I can remember; Hazel did yesterday’s cooking,” queen Caroline said. “You two are on my nerves. My daughter did the cooking and you are telling me the gibberish,” queen Alexandra said. “I stand on my word; I did yesterday’s cooking. Besides, the last time I checked, none of your daughters had ever cooked. What can those naughty fellows cook?” Hazel said. Queen Alexandra slapped Hazel and said, “Are you mad? How can you call my princesses naughty fellows? Aren’t you naughty?” “You just slapped me?” Hazel said with a quavering voice. “And I will slap you again!” Queen Alexandra said. Hazel retaliated and a fight kicked off between Hazel and Queen Alexandra. Queen Caroline tried to separate them, but she was pushed and she landed on the bed. One of the king’s guards, Nicos, heard the sounds emanating from queen Caroline’s room. He ran to the room. “Oh, my God, stop the fight!” Nicos said. However, Nicos was able to separate the fight. He walked the queens to the inner chamber. When they reached the inner chamber, they could see the king and his chiefs bantering. “I am sorry to interfere in the discussions, my king!” Nicos said. “What do you want, Nicos? You can see that I am discussing with my chiefs,” king Achilles said. “My king, the queens were caught fighting, so I brought them here so that they can explain the reasons behind their fight,” Nicos said. “Again? Alright, Nicos; you can return to your duty post,” king Achilles said. “Alright, my king,” Nicos said and walked away. “My chiefs, you will pardon me; I need to settle the issue at hand,” king Achilles said. “Why should we prevent the king from reuniting his family members? Ride on, king Achilles!” Belen said. “Yes, king Achilles!!” the other chiefs attested. “Thank you all. My queens, don’t you know your personalities again?” King Achilles said, and gazed at the queens. “We do, our king!!” the queens said. “So, why are you fighting one another?” King Achilles said. “Permission to speak, my king. We were inside the room when Queen Alexandra walked into our room. I greeted her but she ignored me. My mum asked her what her motive was and she said we are the ones cooking today. That’s a lie, because I did the cooking yesterday…,” Hazel said. “Is that all?” King Achilles said. “Yes, my king. She slapped me and I slapped her back. Then, a fight kicked off,” Hazel said. “You slapped each other?” Kyril said. “That’s very bad, and it’s not expected from Greek queens!” Basil said. “You should have settled it amicably, instead of throwing blows at each other,” King Achilles said. “We are sorry, my king; I tried to separate them but they pushed me on the bed,” queen Caroline said. King Achilles stood up from his throne, he sauntered towards the queens and said, “My queens, you are matured enough to differentiate right from wrong. Immediately, you were crowned queens, you have become noble ambassadors of Sparta. You are now role models to many, so what do you want to teach the ordinary citizens who are looking up to you? I need you to answer me,” King Achilles said.
