Queen Hazel and queen Caroline, I didn’t bring you two here to become boxers. I brought you here to procreate and enjoy yourselves. Don’t allow my love towards you to fade off. Did you get me?” King Achilles said. “Yes, our king!” Queen Caroline and Hazel said. “And you, queen Alexandra, why have you changed all of a sudden? The Alexandra of Sparta I used to know was nice and easy-going; what happened to you?” King Achilles said and gazed at queen Alexandra’s face. “My king, I am still the queen you married some years ago, and I haven’t changed. The new queens always look for my troubles and I always retaliate. My king, just tell them to let me be,” Queen Alexandra said. “I guessed as much,” King Achilles said. He sauntered back to his throne and sat down. “My king, we all know that Queen Alexandra has been a good woman since she entered this palace; there must be something wrong somewhere?” Basil said. “Yes!!” the other chiefs chorused. “My king and chiefs, my daughter and I have never done any wrong to queen Alexandra. She always picks up offences on us unnecessarily,” queen Caroline said. Queen Alexandra glimpsed at her and hissed. “She just hissed again” queen Caroline said. “It’s alright. My chiefs, how can I curb this?” King Achilles said. “May you live long, my king! When they’ve seen the chiefs, they've seen the king and vice versa,” Barak said and paused. “Yes!” the other chiefs chorused. “Thank you, my chiefs. A king's plight is his chiefs' plight. So, we can never be at peace when the king is troubled. I think Queen Alexandra is dying of jealousy. The only way this problem can be solved is for Queen Alexandra to stop being jealous of her vices.” “My king, Chief Barak just said the truth. The reason behind all these problems is jealousy. As a man you are, my king, you need to win queen Alexandra’s heart; she ought not to be jealous of the other queens,” Kyril said. “Also, my king; jealousy doesn’t build, it only destroys. If jealousy can be gotten rid of, the palace would be the lovely place it used to be,” Belen said. “Queen Alexandra, did you hear what the chiefs just said?” King Achilles said as he gazed at queen Alexandra’s face. “Yes, my king; but that’s not true. All I know is that you are my husband and I can’t share you with strange women,” Queen Alexandra said. “Keep quiet, Alexandra! Who told you I floped around with strange women?” King Achilles said with a glare. “It’s alright, king Achilles,” the chiefs said. “Queen Alexandra, when did you start all this? I am disappointed in you!” Basil said. “My king, it’s true that queen Alexandra had been nice; but now, she has changed. I think you should allow us to go since she doesn’t like us,” Hazel said. “You will go nowhere!!” King Achilles said. “My queens, all of you are married to the king, so you have to love one another. Don’t allow hatred to persist in this palace anymore. Who is supposed to cook?” Kyril said. “My chief, I cooked yesterday, so it’s either queen Alexandra or her daughters that should cook today….,” Hazel said. “That’s a lie!!” Queen Alexandra said. “What’s wrong with you, Alexandra? She is not talking to you!” King Achilles said temperamentally. “Be calm, our king!” Belen said. “Queen Alexandra, you've totally changed. Well, I think the king knows who served him yesterday,” Kyril said. King Achilles reminisced and said, “Hazel brought food to my chamber yesterday!” “Can you hear that?” Kyril said. “My chief, these queens want to kill me untimely, what are your suggestions?” king Achilles said. “My king, I advise you to go for maids!” Basil said. “Never!!” queen Alexandra screamed. “You can see the jealousy we are talking about,” Kyril said. “Just ignore Alexandra. Chief Basil, you suggested I should have maids. Why?” King Achilles said. “Thank you, my king. The last time, it was queen Alexandra poisoning queen Hazel and queen Caroline’s food; now, it’s about who will cook. I think if you get maids, the problems would be partially solved,” Basil said. “Yes, I subscribe to Basil's suggestion. At least, there won’t be issue of food poisoning and who would cook,” Kyril said. “I think I love the idea too!” Belen said. “And me too!” Barak said. “Since you’ve all acceded to the suggestion, that’s what will happen,” King Achilles said. “But, my king…,” queen Alexandra said. “Don’t but me; I've spoken. Queen Hazel, do you want the king to be hungry?” King Achilles said. “No, my king!” Hazel said. “Good. Now, you will go and cook something for us to eat,” King Achilles said. “Alright, my king!” Hazel said. “You can leave now!” King Achilles said. “Thank you, our king!” the queens said, and left the inner chamber. It was exactly 5:30 pm, Professor MacPherson stopped his car at Mason’s house. “Thank you for the ride, professor MacPherson,” Mason said. “You are welcome, professor in making,” professor MacPherson said. Mason smiled and said, “I still have a long way to go before I receive a professorship title.” “It will come one day. Let me drive home now,” professor MacPherson said. “Alright, sir. Send my regards to Ayla when you get home,” Mason said. “Alright, I will; send my regards to Evelyn and Landon too,” professor MacPherson said and adjusted his pair of eyeglasses. “Alright, I will,” Mason said. He clutched his briefcase and alighted from the car. Professor MacPherson started the car, he faced the dashboard and drove the car away.
