Keep it up, man!” Benjamin said. “You have done well, but it’s a love song, so one has to put in a great passion. All the same, kudos to you!” Bentley said. “Let me buttress on the already laid protocols. You can’t sing a love song without displaying enough passion. Work on yourself, guy, and the sky will be your limit. An extolment from me too!” Avery said. “You can join your colleagues now, and I guess we would all clap for him as he joins his colleagues,” MC said. As Miles joined his colleagues, the audience clapped their hands. “The second contestant on my list is Miss Taylor. A round of applause for this lady as she saunters forward,” MC said. Taylor sauntered to the dais amid the screams and claps. She collected the microphone from the MC and sang the ancient song, “Part Time Lover by Stevie Wonder.” The song was admitted by the artiste, Wonder, to have been inspired by two previous Motown hits- You Can’t Hurry Love” and “My World is Empty Without You.” As Taylor sang this Wonder’s song, the audience clapped for her. “Time up!” Avery said as she giggled the bell. Taylor handed over the microphone to the MC with her head bowed. “Over to my distinguished panel of judges!” the MC said, and the audience gazed at the judges with curiosity. “I love your voice, I love the way you sing; so it is a yes from me,” Benjamin said. “I love your voice too and the level of your passion is commendable. Keep it up! And it’s a yes from me too!” Avery said. “It's a no from me. Your voice isn’t loud enough. Who knows, maybe you have not mastered the lyrics of the song,” Bentley said. “It’s alright. Well done, Taylor; you can walk back to your seat. Keep clapping for her as she joins her colleagues!” MC said. The audience clapped with exhilaration as Taylor walked back to her seat. “The third contestant on my list is Master Declan. A round of applause for him as he saunters forward!” MC said. The audience clapped for Declan as he walked towards the dais. He climbed the dais and collected the microphone with his head bowed. Declan sang the song, “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling" by the righteous brothers. This ancient song was written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil on a rented piano at Chateau Marmot in the sunset strip, inspired by the four tops. Their dummy lyrics were “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling,” but producer Phil Spector liked them so much, he kept them. The threesome completed the song by writing the bridge at Spector's home. Declan sang this song for about two minutes and Avery giggled the bell. He gave the microphone to the MC with his head bowed. “Thank you for that lovely song. Now, over to the judges!” MC said. “Thumb up! That was a lovely song. It was as if you shouldn’t end the song,” Benjamin said. “I love the song too, and it’s a yes from me!” Bentley said. “Well, I don’t think you deserve a yes from me. Try to work on your voice; you’ve just quavered,” Avery said. “You can saunter back to your seat,” MC said. As Declan sauntered to his seat, the audience clapped their hands and screamed. “The fourth contestant on my list is Miss Sadie; let’s clap for her as she saunters forward,” MC said. Sadie jumped up and sauntered towards the dais amid the clap and scream. She climbed the dais and collected the microphone with her head bowed. She sang the song, “The Power of Love by Celine Dion.” Sadie had loved this song the very first day she heard the song on their radio. So, when she heard about the music contest, she quickly picked the song and rehearsed it very well. As she sang the song, she gestured all along and the audience screamed. After about 2 minutes, Avery giggled the bell. Sadie gave the microphone to the MC with her head bowed. “As for me, you've done well, or haven’t you?” MC said. “Yes, I have; but it’s left for the judges,” Sadie said. MC smiled and said, “Alright. Over to my distinguished panel of judges. Please, a round of applause for them!” MC said. The audience clapped and screamed. “As for me, your voice is captivating, so it is a yes from me,” Avery said, and Aubrey smiled from where she was sitting. “It’s a yes from me too!” Benjamin said and everyone screamed. “And a yes from me too!” Bentley said. “Alright…, my judges. Sadie, you can join your colleagues now. Let the clap continue!” MC said. As Sadie walked back to her seat, the audience clapped and screamed. However, all the contestants were invited to the dais and they all displayed their talents. “Now, the last contestant on my list is Master James. A round of applause for him as he saunters forward!” MC said. As James walked towards the dais, the audience clapped and screamed exuberantly. James climbed the dais, he bowed his head and collected the microphone from the MC. James sang the song, “I Just Call to Say I Love You by Stevie Wonder.” This song came into existence when Dionne Warwick told the producers of the Gene Wilder film “The Woman in Red” to ask Wonder to compose the soundtrack. Also, the film became an Oscar winner. This song, written for the movie, claimed the Academy Award for Best Original song.
