When she reached the kitchen, she washed the plates and cups, she put them inside a tray and carried the tray to the dining room. She placed the plates and cups on the table and walked back to the kitchen holding the tray with her left her. She put a little soup inside a plate and covered the plate, she also put some yam flour paste inside the plate and carried the plate to the dining room. However, after about 5 minutes, she was through with the table setting; she walked back to the sitting room. “I have set the table, aunt…,” Margaret said as she walked to the sitting room. “What kept you so long?” Peyton said. “I couldn’t carry all the plates and cups at a time, so I had to do it gradually,” Margaret said, and sat down. “It’s okay,” Peyton said. The gangsters walked to the sitting room and sat down on different couches. “Welcome, sirs!” Margaret said. “Thank you, Maggie,” the gangsters said. “How are you?” Dickson said. “I am fine, sir,” Margaret said. “That’s good,” Dickson said. “How was the seminar, sir?” Margaret said. “It was fine, Maggie; we really thank God,” Dickson said. “Alright, sir,” Margaret said. “Guys, it’s time to dine! Let’s go to the dining room now,” Peyton said, and stood up from the couch. “There we go!” Logan and Jeremy said. The gangsters walked to the dining room and sat down as they awaited their food. “Margaret, we will eat our bread and peanut butter soon; let me serve uncle Charles and his friends their food first,” Peyton said, and gazed at Margaret's face. “Alright, aunt,” Margaret said. With no hesitation, Peyton sauntered to the dining table and served the men their food. “Thank you very much, Peyton,” the gangsters said. “You are welcome, sir. Please, I will be right back,” Peyton said. “It’s alright,” Charles and Dickson said. Peyton walked to the sitting room, she sat down close to Margaret and they continued watching the actions displayed on the television screen. After watching the film for about 10 minutes, Peyton left the film she was watching and walked to the dining room. When she got to the dining room, she could see the gangsters' plates already empty. “This food is delicious!” Logan and Jeremy said. “Thank you, sir,” Peyton said with a smile. “I guess you made the food?” Charles said. “No! I was so tired, so, I asked Margaret to do the cooking,” Peyton said, and glimpsed at the plates on the table. “I guessed as much, I was only trying to put words in your mouth,” Charles said, and everyone laughed. “I won’t take that, Charles. I would do the cooking better and you know,” Peyton said. “Are you jealous?” Charles said. “How can I be jealous?” Peyton said. “Charles, don’t be partial; Peyton is a good cook and she taught Margaret to cook well. Simple!” Dickson said. “Yeah!” Jeremy and Logan said as they nodded in affirmation. “Thank you, sir. Charles, you need to be careful these days. You have to excuse me for at least 30 seconds, I need to bring bowlfuls of water for you to wash your hands,” Peyton said. “Alright!” Jeremy and Dickson said. Peyton packed the plates and cups on the table and carried them to the kitchen. She placed the plates and cups on the table and looked for two bowls. She put water into the bowls and carried them to the dining room. “Here are the bowlfuls of water,” Peyton said, and dropped the bowlfuls of water on the table. “Thank you, Peyton!” the gangsters said. “You are welcome, sir,” Peyton said. The gangsters washed their hands in the bowlfuls of water, they stood up from the seats they were sitting on and walked to the sitting room. Peyton walked to the kitchen and placed the bowlfuls of water on the table. She walked to the sitting room to join the personalities in the sitting room. “It’s 6:16 pm already; I need to go home. My wife would be worried by now,” Dickson said. “Oh! Send my regards to her. Logan and Jeremy, how about you?” Charles said. “We want to go home too,” Logan and Jeremy said. “It’s alright. Thank you all for the company, and send my regards to your dear wives,” Charles said. “Alright, boss,” the gangsters said. “Send my regards to your wives too, and I will miss your company,” Peyton said. She glimpsed the gangsters and turned her head back to the direction of the television. “We will miss you too,” the gangsters said and stood up at the same time as if they had planned it. “You can’t trek home, you are tired now and it’s getting dark already. Will you mind if I give you transport fares back home?” Charles said. “We won’t mind!” Dickson said as the others' mouthpiece. Charles stood up from the couch he was sitting on, he dipped his hand into one of his pockets and took out some money. He removed 50 USD notes from the whole lot and put the remaining money back in his pocket. “This is 50 USD; it should be enough for your transport back home,” Charles said, and handed the money to Dickson.” “Yes, it is; thank you,” Dickson said. “Thank you, boss!” Logan and Jeremy said. “You are welcome. Let me see you guys off,” Charles said. “It’s alright,” Dickson said. “Goodbye, uncles!” Margaret said after she managed to take her gaze off the television screen. “You and films always! Goodbye,” Dickson said. “Goodbye, Maggie!” Logan and Jeremy said. “And thanks for the food,” Jeremy said. “Don’t mention it, sir; goodbye,” Peyton said. Charles and the other light-fingered guys walked in the direction of the entrance door. Dickson opened the door and the gangsters exited the sitting room. “I want to go back home now,” Charles said after he had walked his light-fingered guys to four houses away from his. “Goodbye, boss,” the gangsters said. “Goodbye, guys. Please, walk fast to the park so that you can take cabs home; I don’t want you to stay late at night,” Charles said. “Alright, boss,” Dickson and Jeremy said. “Lest I forget, we will share our money and microwave ovens some other time,” Charles said. “Aright, boss; we can trust you,” Jeremy said. “Thank you, Jeremy. See you guys soon,” Charles said. The gangsters continued their journey to the park as Charles walked back home.
