The bed chamber was just slightly different from the inner chamber. The bed chamber is orange-painted, it has a bed that can occupy a maximum of three persons, it has sets of furniture, it has a Samsung LED plasma television and other electronics, and it has natural and artificial ventilators. King Rehoboth was lying on the bed and was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn’t know when Cooper came into the room. Cooper moved close to the bed. “My king, you are worried,” Cooper said. “When did you get here? I thought I locked the door,” King Rehoboth said, and sat on one side of the bed. “My king, you didn't lock the door; I have been standing for some seconds now and you didn’t notice my presence. What’s wrong, my king?” Cooper said. King Rehoboth looked at Cooper's face; he could see sincerity and concern written on Cooper’s face. “My chief, sit down,” King Rehoboth said. “Thank you, my king,” Cooper said, and sat on a small couch close to the bed. “I thought you all were gone,” King Rehoboth said. “Gone?! Where do we have to go? Our king is worried, so we can’t go anywhere,” Cooper said. “Alright, what did the other chiefs tell you?” King Rehoboth said. “Well, my king, they said you suggested maids for yourself but they didn’t accede to it,” Cooper said. “Then why are you here? Do you want to pester me more?” King Rehoboth said. “I am too small to pester a mighty king like you,” Cooper said. “I hope you are not here for soothsaying?” King Rehoboth said. “No, my king; it’s far from that,” Cooper said. “Speak!! The king hears!” King Rehoboth said. Cooper didn’t know where to start from. He was contemplating where to start from when the king finally spoke. “Chief Cooper, I can see you are not here for something reasonable. Can you make use of the door?” King Rehoboth said and lay back on the bed. “My king, you don’t have to sleep. Alright…, I will speak. My king, you know that our constitution doesn’t allow a king to have any maid. We all know that maids are devilish and seductive. Most of them are on a mission to destroy tranquil homes. My king, why don’t you take another wife instead,” Cooper said silently. As soon as the king heard this, he silently stood up from the bed and moved in an anticlockwise manner. Cooper, on the other hand, became nervous. “Is the king angry with what I said? I shouldn’t have said this,” all these thoughts ran through Cooper's mind. King Rehoboth finally sat beside Cooper on the couch. He looked at Cooper, he nodded his head and smiled. “Are you okay, my king?” Cooper said. “Yeah, I am. Do you suggest a new wife?” King Rehoboth said. “Ye-Yes, my king,” Cooper said. “Indeed, I have good-headed chiefs. I was too engrossed in my thoughts that I didn’t think of having a new wife,” King Rehoboth said. “My king, a new wife will be necessary. She will take good care of you more than a maid,” Cooper said. “You are right; I now see a reason why a problem shared is partially solved. I think I subscribe to your suggestion of a new wife,” King Rehoboth said. “My king, you are not getting young any longer. I think with a new wife, you can let go of your worries,” Cooper said. “But how about Caroline?” King Rehoboth said. “Our ancestors will release her and her daughter from s*****y. When she comes back, she will take the office of a first wife and life goes on,” Cooper said. “Bravo!! You are too clever!” King Rehoboth said with a smile. “I take the compliments from my king,” Cooper said, and the duo laughed. “Where are the other chiefs?” King Rehoboth said. “They are in the inner chamber,” Cooper said. “Tell them that I will join them in a jiffy; you can go now,” King Rehoboth said. “Alright, my king,” Cooper said and walked away. King Rehoboth hurriedly wore his regalia, carried his staff of office and walked out of the bed chamber. Cooper walked into the inner chamber. As soon as the chiefs saw him, they stopped their murmurs. “What does Cooper have for us? Did the king scold him?” all these thoughts ran through the chiefs’ minds. As soon as Cooper sat down, the king appeared. The chiefs were now perplexed. King Rehoboth walked to his throne and sat down; he looked at the fears and anticipations written on the chiefs' faces. “Long live the king!” the chiefs said. The king kept mute, he stood up and started moving to the chiefs one after the other, then he broke the silence. “Don't be afraid, my chiefs; I have come for peace,” King Rehoboth said, and walked back to his throne. For over 10 seconds, the chiefs were looking at the king; little did they know that the king actually came for peace. “My chiefs, I said I came for peace and nobody is talking,” King Rehoboth said. The chiefs could see sincerity in king Rehoboth's voice, so Theodore finally talked. “My king, we have been worried since you have gone to your bed chamber angrily. I can see a happy king now. What’s it, my king?” Theodore said. King Rehoboth smiled, he stood up and walked to the center of the chamber. He then began. “My chiefs, I am sorry for keeping you waiting for so long. I hope you will find places in your hearts to forgive me?” “Who are we to keep grudges against the king”, Emmett said. “Thank you, Chief Emmett,” king Rehoboth said, and walked back to his throne. “My king, do you have a new resolution?” Easton said. “Of course! I have! I have resolved to get a new wife instead of a maid. The chiefs became euphoric, they looked at one another to show signs of a mission accomplished. “My king, I am happy that our banter brought positive results,” Theodore said. “I am glad I have good-headed chiefs. I was about to go astray but you restrained me,” King Rehoboth said. “Let’s hope our king finds a good wife,” Emmett said. “We all know the king is very selective,” Cooper said, and everyone laughed. “Was that supposed to be sarcasm, Chief Cooper?” King Rehoboth said. “No, my king,” Cooper said. “Alright. How will I get a wife?” King Rehoboth said. “My king, that is not a big problem; we have many maidens in this state. Besides, everyone wants to become an in-law or wife to a king,” Emmett said. “Yes, my king. We shall summon beautiful maidens to this palace, then you will choose the one you admire from them all,” Theodore said. “My king, you could go for all the maidens if you wish,” Easton said, and everyone laughed. “It’s okay; thank you for putting in your ideas. Parker, I want you to inform all the beautiful maidens that I want them to come to my palace and flaunt their beauty,” King Rehoboth said. “Alright, my king,” Parker said. King Rehoboth stood up from his throne; he walked to the middle of the inner chamber and stagnated himself. “I say a big thank you to you all for your tolerance; you are really chiefs of California,” King Rehoboth said. “Long live the king!” the chiefs chorused. “I think we have to draw the curtain now,” King Rehoboth said. The king and the chiefs shook hands and the chiefs in twos walked out of the inner chamber. King Rehoboth smiled as the chiefs walked out, he carried his staff of office and walked back to his bed chamber.
