John POV

"John you need to focus, we've been through this,I don't understand how you could be the best fighter one minute and the next minute become the worst" Gabriel said. Gabriel is one of the pack's general and most skilled (until I came along) and he is the king's personal bodyguard. He is also my personal trainer.

Dad grounded me for sneaking out so he doubled the guards and mandated more training hours for me. Dad was very mad about the incident and the fact that I was beaten by my mate and a girl which was unacceptable. My lycan George is still a pain in the ass and his growling has increased. He is always calling for mate and has been teasing me about how I was beaten and paralyzed by my mate.

"Gabriel I know,but I can't just focus when I know my mate is out there, besides my lycan George isn't helping matters with the frequent growling and calling after mate" I replied." Still having trouble getting along with your lycan" Gabriel asked." Yes,now he is getting out of hand,every now and then he tries to take control" I answered " well you need to trust your lycan and let him take control,try and get along with him and don't try to control him. Believe it or not,you'll need your lycan one way or the other so you need to let him know he is part of you and not your domestic animal" Gabriel said.

Gabriel has been a friend and he is like a mentor to me,he is always there when I need him,and he knows what to say to me to make me feel good. He helped me control my shifting and my connection with my lycan,he is like an elder brother I never had. While we were still talking my twin younger sisters, Hellen and Gina came up looking mischievous as always. Aside from my lycan George they also piss me off and always find a way to tease and make fun of me." We heard you were beaten by your mate"Hellen said which I ignored,"well mum needs you in the garden,she sounded pissed"Gina said." Maybe she wants to teach him how to approach a girl and not get beat up by her"Hellen said which made them all laugh including Gabriel who was chuckling." Gina and Hellen stop making fun of your brother you know he is going through a lot"Gabriel said then started laughing. I left them and made my way to the garden which is filled with all types and varieties of flowers and it's one of mum's favorite places. She personally supervised the planting and designing of the garden and I must confess it's a paradise and gives the palace an heavenly look.

"Son,there will be a ball in the castle and I need you to get ready,I've ordered for your clothes which will be brought to your room tomorrow"mum said diverting my attention towards her." Ok mother" I replied.

Kira POV

I went to grandma's room hoping to talk to her about all that happened and what I was to do. It's been 3 days since I woke up and I haven't gotten over the revelation that was revealed to me by grandma in my dream about my mate." So we got mated to the great Alpha and we must protect him"my wolf Lusy once said." I know right,it's seems like a dream,can't believe we have to protect our mate" I replied. Dad called me to his office through the pack link,so I left for his office wondering why he was calling me. I go to his office,I knocked run I heard dad's voice telling me to come in so I opened the door and I was assaulted by powerful auras and I had a feeling of unease in the atmosphere so I knew something was up. It's a sitting of my dad and mum,beta Cyril his wife aunty Sharon and delta Larson and his wife aunty Barbara.

"Kira come and take a sit,we need you to explain what happened in the woods last week,we got a disturbing information about you attacking the prince is this true?" Dad asked." He was following me so I had to paralyze him" I answered,I could see mum's face turning red and the people around looked worried except for dad that looked pleased with what I have said." Why would you do that?"mum asked pissed,"well I didn't know he was the prince he looked normal to me" I replied her,"well prepare yourself we are going to the palace tomorrow where you will apologize to the prince" dad said but there was something off with how he said it,"yes alpha" I replied.

After I left dad's office,I tho. ught of what he said we are going to the palace which got me nervous and scared at the same time. On the other hand my wolf Lusy was in a cloud of her own then said"we are going to see mate,I can't wait to be in mate's arms" I rolled my eyes and answered"yes we will".

John POV

I got into my dress for the ball,it's a golden jerkin worn over a blue doublet with a cream colored breech trouser. I heard a knock on my door,"come in!"I shouted, then the door opened and Julian my boyhood friend came in." Julian wow,it's been long" I said as we hugged each other." Yes my prince,I heard about the ball so I decided to surprise you,did I?" Julian chuckled,"yes you did" I replied." Hope you are not leaving soon, because we have alot to talk about" I added as we left the room.

Julian is the pack's beta's son and the soon to be beta of the pack and my beta when am king. We've always acted like twin brothers while we were growing until he left for his degree in Spain. We were walking down the stairs when I suddenly got a familiar scent,"mate" my lycan growled. I quickly came down the stairs and looked around then I saw my beautiful mate wearing a purple gown,floor length with golden trailing train over a kirtle. She looks very beautiful,she looked at me and came over to me, dragged me aside "listen I know we are mates but get a hold of yourself,I don't want any trouble",my mate said. I looked surprised "why don't you want anyone to know we are mates?,are you rejecting me?"I asked "no silly, you are in danger" she answered." What do you mean am in danger?" I asked " later we will talk just trust me" she answered.
