Jess nodded at the screen as Admiral North’s image appeared. Ali simply sat back and folder her arms, glaring at the screen. Jess couldn’t make himself do the same. Only half a day had passed since the meeting but the Admiral was definitely paler. His eyes were sunken and black. Jess wondered when he had last slept properly.
“Jess. Ali,” said Admiral North. “We are in need of the Wanderer’s unique abilities.”
“Again,” muttered Ali.
