Chapter 12

As things were somewhat getting back to normal with Stefan and Elena's side of things. As Stefan was helping Elena with everything, from her feelings, to her vamping out, to her completion. Bonnie had made her a daylight ring, from one of her aunt Jenna's rings that Elena has kept out of all her stuff. Bonnie thought it would be sweet of her to do something for Elena that would be a safe keeping and knowing she won't ever take off.

As for Stefan and Elena, things have gone back to where they were. Since she became a vampire, their feelings were still there. On the first night of her being a vampire after they got her a daylight ring, Stefan took her to the roof of his house, to watch the sunrise. As she was loving that moment, she had leaned over to kiss Stefan. Once she made the move, he felt like things were normal once again. Like what he felt towards Heather never happened.

And what both of them thought was just a fling, to help each other out. They both knew that they had a love one waiting just didn't no how long the front was gonna be.

On the other hand, Ric had helped Elena train to beat ass as he done before. To keep things going, to keep her safe from harm from other vampires. As there were others that was going after them. Not just the originals either.

As to Heather and the others they were still on the watch for the redhead, Victoria. As school was slowly ending, Bella has been hanging out with the pack more for her safely. As Heather rode with Jacob one day to meet Bella and Edward at the border line, they pulled up and Bella looked their way for a moment before kissing Edward. Of course Heather smiled at that but Jacob wasn't liking it. Heather was sitting in the car, on her phone as for Jacob leaning against the car. Once Bella walked over, Jacob gave her a hug before going to the driver side and Bella getting in on the passenger side.

"Hey, bestie." Heather had said as she put her phone down.

"Hey," Bella said back. "So what are we going to do today?"

"Well I was thinking of taking us to my favorite spot by the water." Jacob said. "I kinda want to talk to you about something. And Heather here is meeting someone there."

"Wait who?" Bella asked.

"Paul, were kinda talking again. We're trying to get us back to where it's supposed to be. Paul wants it that way. Emily and Leah talked me into it." Heather said rolling her eyes as she looked back at her phone.

"That's cool. I mean Stefan isn't here anymore so you do need someone." Bella has said.

"Wait what?" Jacob had said.

"Bella!" Heather had said.

Jacob looked at Heather in the rearview mirror with questionable eyes. Heather smiled a little.

"What's she talking about?" Jacob asked.

"Nothing, Jacob." Heather said. "Wait, y'all didn't know?" Bella said at the same time.

"No one knew about it, til now. Thanks Bella, wish I never told you." Heather said chuckled a little.

"Wait did you and Stefan do that nasty?" Jacob asked.

Heather rolled her eyes and slapped him in the back of his head.

"Its none of your business, but since its all out yes." The young girl said then looked away. "But it didn't feel right, since well,"

"Since your still in love with Paul." Jacob finished for her.

"You can say that." She says.

As they pulled to the water front, Paul was throwing rocks onto the water. He didn't turn around until Heather had touched his back when she got to him.

"Hey, I'm glad you came." Paul said as he tossed the last rock that was in his hand.

"No problem." Heather said as they walked over to where Bella and Jacob was standing at.

"God this place is so beautiful." Bella says.

"Yes it is." Jacob said as he looked at his two pack members.

Paul grabbed Heather's hand and they walked the other way. As they walked down to the docks about 20 yards away from Bella and Jacob and hung out for awhile. But they were still close enough for Heather to hear them.

They were there what seems for hours until the sun was going down. Heather loved it. As she leaned against her imprint, Paul had put his arm around her waist, making her feel the same as when they first got together.

As they were enjoying everything, the sun, warmth, it all , like she was still the same ole person. As she was taking it all, she over heard Jacob's conversation with Bella.

"I just wanna do this differently. Smoother, but now I’m out of time." Jacob had said.

"Do what?" Bella asked him.

"You need to hear the truth Bella. Understand all your options, and you need to know that I’m in love with you and I want you to choose me instead of him." Jacob tells her.

Heather moves from leaning against Paul to look at them for a second then looked at Paul. Paul looked at me then shrugged his shoulders.

"Did you know about this?" Heather had whispered to Paul.

"No, but it won't be good after this. I have a feeling something bad is gonna happen." Paul told her.

Heather turner back around and looked at her two friends. Watching them just to make sure nothing happened.

"I thought you understood. I don’t feel that way for you." Bella said.

"I don’t buy it." Jacob says.

"What don’t you buy? That’s how I feel." She tells her best friend.

"You feel something else for me. You just won’t admit it. So, I’m not givin’ up. I’m gonna fight for you, until your heart stops beating." He told her.

Heather thought it was sweet of him saying that to her. But felt bad for him. She knows how he feels. But what happened next was the most shocked for them all.

"Well, then you’re not gonna have to fight for long." Bella told him.

"You’re rushing into to it because you’re afraid you’ll change your mind."

"No, I’m not. I know what I want."

"You wouldn’t have to change for me, Bella, or say goodbye to anybody. I can give you more than him. I mean he probably can’t even kiss you without hurting you." Then he takes her hand and puts it to his heart. "Feel that. Flesh and blood and warmth." Jacob kisses her and she pushes him away and punches him in the face.

Just as that had happened, Bella had yelled holding her hand to her chest just as Heather had got up and vamped over to Bella.

"What the hell is wrong with you? You don't just kiss another man's woman." Heather had said as she grabbed ahold of Bella's hand.

"She has to know what I am feeling for her. What she means to me." Jacob says.

"Yea, but not kiss her." Heather says. "Let me take you home so Edward can pick you up. Or I can take you there myself if you want me to vamp you there?" The girl asked her friend.

"Just take me home and call Edward for me." Bella said.

Heather nodded then looked over to Paul. He nodded his head at her then she looked at Jacob.

"Mind taking up to her house, Jacob? Can you handle that?"

Jacob nodded his head and they all head to Bella's house. While on the way there, Heather had called Edward and told him what happened. Boy Edward was beyond pissed off at Jacob, where he wanted to kill him for touching Bella that way.

Once they got to her house, Edward pulled up as there walking to her house.

"If you ever touch her against her will again…" Edward yelled.

"Edward! Don’t do this!" Bella pleaded with him.

"She’s not sure what she wants." Jacob try a to explained.

"Well, let me give you a clue. Wait for her to say the words."

"Fine. She will."

"Jacob, just go, okay?" Bella says after breaking up the fight between Edward and Jacob.

Just then Bella's father, Chief Swan comes out to see what all the yelling was about.

"What’s going on?" Charlie asks.

"I kissed Bella." Jacob says making Charlie look at him like oh boy. "And she broke her hand punching my face." Charlie looks at Bella fast. "Total misunderstanding."

"For you to say!" Edward said trying to get in his face but Heather stood in front of him fast.

"Edward, take us to your place so your father can look at her hand." Heather told him then faced towards Jacob. "You got home now, I'll see you later."

Jacob nodded and went to his car as Heather helped Bella in Edward's car as he got in and they headed off. As Heather sat in the back, she had a million things going on in her head after what just happened. What was the meaning of what they meant. Why did Jacob just tell her friend all his feelings and what did her friend mean that she didn't have long. She would have to ask her after they were done at the Cullen's.

Once they arrived at the house, we all walked in and called for Carlisle for help. Just as Carlisle was bandaging Bella’s hand, Rosalie was sitting on the couch reading a newspaper as Heather was leaning against the counter while Edward had stood next to Bella. As Emmett and Jasper came into the house, Emmett had looked at her.

"Can't walk and chew gum at the same time, Bella?" Emmett said laughing.

"I punched a werewolf in the face." Bella told him getting a chuckle out of him and Jasper.

"Badass! You’ll be one little tough new born."

"Tough enough to take you on." Bella said.

Rosalie on hearing this exchange gets angry and gets up and walks out of the room. They all looked at her and after the dr was done with the girl she had went out on the patio to talk to the blonde headed girl.

Just as she had walked out and closed the door Heather looked at the other, a little confused.

"What the f**k do you mean, a tough new born?" Heather asked.

"Bella wants to become one of us." Edward said not happy about the idea.

"She kinda has to." Carlisle said.

"What do you mean she kinda has too?" She asked.

"You remember when Bella went to go save Edward last year?" Jasper asked Heather and she nodded. "Well they were gonna kill Bella because what she knows about us but she had brought up to the Volturi about turning her that's when Alice had saw a vision of Bella becoming one of us."

"So for them to leave, without getting killed, we've promised Aro that will become one of us. But I told Bella to wait til after she graduates high school." Carlisle said.

"So that is why he was wondering where she was for 3 days?" Heather had brought up. Edward nodded at her. "Also him telling her his feelings." Edward nodded again then looked away.

He looked towards the windows where Rosalie and Bella were at. Like was listening to the story Rose was telling Bella. Heather looks where he was looking at heard a little of the story but shivered. Rosalie had told Bella that the love of her life and his friends had r***d her and left her for dead, wishing she was dead until the dr had found her and saved her.

"Did that really happen to Rose? Her getting r***d and almost dying?" Heather had asked.

"Yes, I saved her and she kinda went after them. She was a little wild back then until she had found Emmett hunting and saved his life. They became complete." The dr said.

Later that night, Heather had ran home to met up with the pack. Paul was talking to Jacob about what had happened when she had showed up. The boys looked upstairs her as she vamped and leaned against the house.

"How's her hand?" Jake asked.

"It'll heal. It's just a fracture." Heather said. "To bad she ain't like me and it would healed fast."

Jake growled at what she said. "Seriously?"

"What? Just saying." She told him.

"Well I'm going to bed, Paul you wanna walk me home?" She asked.

He nodded then got up and grabbed Heather's hand and headed home. Paul stayed that night with her and it felt just like before. Ira was happy about them getting back together, he thought it was because Stefan was gone but he didn't want to say it.

Just as school was close to ending, Alice and the girls were all getting everything ready to the big day. Just had just 2 days to graduate high school. As the time was getting close, Alice and Rosalie had took Heather and Bella put to Port Angeles to get some cute dresses to where, but Bella didn't want to wear a dress, so Alice let her find a cute outfit to wear. Rose had helped Heather find the most sexy dress that would work for school. It was an all red dress, shoulder sleeves, a v-neck lining where it helps makes her boobs look good. And it matched all her curves that she held. When they got what they wanted they went home.

As the big day had showed up to fast for the girls, mostly for Heather and Bella, they all got ready at the Cullen's so Alice and Rosalie could do their hair and makeup. Once they were done, they went to the school.

Out of the family and friends, Charlie was there for Bella, Carlisle and Esme were there for Edward, Jasper, and Alice, and for Heather it was her father and Paul. Heather was excited for Paul to have shown up for her.

Before they had called their names, the principal had asked for their valedictorian, Jessica to come up and say her speech.

“When we were five, they asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. Our answers were things like, Astronaut, President or in my case, a Princess. When we were ten, they asked again. We answered rock star, cowboy or in my case, a gold medalist. But now that we’ve grown up, they wanted a serious answer. Well, how about this - who the hell knows? This isn’t the time to make hard and fast decisions, this is the time to make mistakes. Take the wrong train and get stuck somewhere. Fall in love – a lot. Major in Philosophy because there is no way to make a career out of that. Change your mind and change it again because nothing’s permanent. So make as many mistakes as you can. That way someday when they asked what we wanna be, we won’t have to guess – we’ll know.” Jessica said.

Everyone cheered and yelled after she was done with her speech. It was remarkable, Heather had thought. She could not believe she had did it, after the hard work they did in the cafè or at least tried. Once their names were being called, each one of their families had stood up and yelled out in cheers for them. Just then Heather felt like the time was froze from what just happened. She was thinking about her mother, wishing she was here to have watched her walk across that stage. She wasn't the only one that felt like that, Bella had also wished her mother had showed up but she knew the time and money was off for her because of her step dad.

After that was all over, Charlie took Bella out to the diner for dinner as for Heather, the pack was holding a little BBQ cook out for her until the party was finishing getting ready. Alice had took off after she was called to make sure it was indeed done and looking good.

Everyone at the reservation was beyond happy for her. All the elders had gave her a little something to remind her how happy they were. And in a way in was their culture tradition for those who have made it out of school.

Paul had made a wolf necklace and hooked it on her neck, for a symbol of his love for her. While he had done that, she had walked over to Jacob and asked if he was ready to head over to the party. He was just finishing up a bracelet for Bella when she came over to ask him that.

When they arrived at the party, everyone was having fun, dancing, eating, and drinking. The music was perfect just like everything else was. Heather was a little scared that it would have been bad and outdated for a moment and she don't know why.

As she went to Bella, Bella had caught sight of them. Bella hugged me then gave Jacob a weird look.

"Bella, I'm sorry for kissing you and breaking your hand." Jacob said making all of us laugh at him. "And to tell you that I am sorry, I made you this." He said as he handed to her.

"Wow, its pretty. Can you put it on me?" She asked.

Jacob done what she asked just as I turned to look for Alice and saw her coming down the stairs until she had froze. I walked over to her with Bella and the others behind me. She looked right at Bella.

"The decision has been made they are coming here." She said.

After she had said that, she had grabbed ahold of Bella by her good hand and we all went out on the patio where the others were waiting for us.

"This could turn into a blood bath." The dr said.

"Who’s behind it?" Edward asked.

"I didn’t see anyone I recognized. Maybe one." Alice said.

"I know his face. He’s local, Riley Biers. He didn’t start this." Edward said.

"Either way, the army is coming and there aren’t enough of us to protect the town." Jasper bought up.

"Hold up, what damn army?" Jacob and heather had asked at the same time.

"Newborns, our kind." The doc said.

"They’re after Bella? What the hell does this mean?" Jacob said making Heather shiver of the thought.

"It means and ugly fight, with lives lost." The doc said.

Jacob looked at the pack that was there and Heather gave him the go to join. She wanted to help keep her friend alive, even if it would get bad.

"All right. We’re in." Jacob said.

"No, you’d get yourselves killed. No way." Bella tells him.

"I wasn’t asking for permission." Jake says, making me chuckle a little to myself.

"Edward?" Bella pleads with her boyfriend to get him to tell her friend they can't.

"It means more protection for you." Edward said, making it backed fire against her.

"Jacob, Heather, do you believe Sam would agree to an understanding?" The dr asked them.

"As long as we get to kill some vampires." Jacob said.

"And we've been dying to catch the red head as well." Heather brought up.

Dr. Carlisle nodded his head then turned to Jasper. "Jasper?"

"It’ll give us the numbers. Newborns won’t even know they exist. It’ll give us an edge."

"Jake, you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into."

"Bella, this is what we do. You should be happy, look at us, we’re working together. You are the one who wanted us to get along, remember?" Jacob had told her.

Bella shook her head then looked at Heather. All Heather did was smirked at her friend. She was inching to fight and not like one she's been in either.

"Let's meet at the clearing where Alice saw them at, meet in a few hours?" Carlisle told everyone. "We need to hunt and you guys have to talk to the rest of the pack."

They nodded then left.

As soon as they got home, they called for a meeting with Sam and the others. As Jacob and Heather told them what was what, Sam gave them the okay.

As they shifted and ran to where the clearing was, Heather heard noises of people yelling and grunting. When she walked up to see more, she saw the Cullen's fighting, well more like training.

As the Cullen's noticing the pack of wolves arriving at their training session, Carlisle and Edward walked close to them.

"They don’t trust us enough to be in their human forms, well other than Heather but Sam ordered her stay in wolf form." Edward said.

"They came, that’s what matters. Will you translate?" The dr had said then faced to the wolf pack. "Welcome, Jasper has experience with the newborns, teach us how to defeat them."

Edward reads the wolves minds and translates their answer. "They wanna know how the newborns differ from us."

"They’re a great deal stronger than us because their own human blood lingers in their tissues. Our kind is never more physically powerful than in our first several months of this life." The dr said to the wolf pack. "My son, Jasper knows more about them than the rest of us."

"A newborn army doesn’t need thousands like a human army. But no human army can stand against them. Now the two most important things to remember are; first never let them get their arms around you, they’ll crush you instantly. The second, never go for the obvious kill, they’ll be expecting that and you will lose." Jasper said to Edward as he throws Carlisle in their mock fight and turns his back on him. "One more thing, never turn your back on your enemy." Just then Carlisle gets up and throws Edward to the ground.

Jake in his wolf form comes and stands close next to Bella. Heather looks over at them and smiles a little, then faced the others fighting but also hearing what Bella was saying.

"Some of you are gonna get hurt. Some of you could get killed, because of me. This could to be a hundred times worse than this, right?" Bella said just when the wolf puts his head close to Bella and she strokes his head tenderly making Jacob purr like a cat and Heather chuckle a little to herself.

As the other's had stopped fighting, Sam had ordered the others it was time to go. As they all headed home, Paul and Heather had went home to get some rest. They all had at least a week until they had showed up, so they would all need the rest and think of their strategies for this fight against the new borns.
