Letter 1 Welcome
I want to say congratulations. Congratulations on buying this old home. You may not know it now, but this home will breathe a new life into you.
When you look around this house, you’ll notice that everything looks clean and fresh and new. Well, I had someone come out and clean it again. No one has resided in our house in over 6 years now. I wish I could go back to the days when we would host get-together's and have neighbors over.
You see, these old bones of mine don’t work like they used to, and it takes a lot out of me just to go visit that home. I drive past it from time to time and think about what has transpired there: down that gravel driveway, in the middle of the country with only 5 neighbors and nothing but fields and forest around. I used to sit out on that back patio and watch all of the wild critters run about in those fields.
Maybe I’ll let you know more about it some other time, sweetheart, but right now, right now, it’s time to rest. So, I’ll write you another letter here soon, and again, congratulations on your new home.
Thank you,
Gertrude Reynolds
