Delta and Mira got dressed. Delta walked over to Mira and placed half of the Nova Stone around her neck, tucking it in her shirt. “Keep this with at all times. Don’t let anyone see it or they’ll know you aren’t one of us, okay?”

Mira nodded her head, “Where are we going?”

“You’ll meet my father. We’ll make some story up about you. While you’re here, you’re my girlfriend. That way no one will dare to bother you or question you.” Delta smiled at Mira, she reached over and tucked some of her black hair behind her ear. “You look beautiful.”

They both walked out the room, hand in hand. Delta led her to the throne room. Delta’s father and mother were discussing some matters, when they entered. Delta’s mother looked up first with a smile and walked over to her daughter. “Honey, Delta’s here.”

Her father turned and followed behind his wife. He noticed Mira, holding hands with Delta, he lifted an eyebrow. “What’s this?” he began speaking softly but firmly. “Who is this girl? I’ve never seen her before?”

Delta smiled at her parents and pulled Mira closer. “This is Mira, my girlfriend. She came from the south. There was an accident and she lost some memory. So, I’m helping her.”

Her mother went over to Mira and hugged her, “Welcome Mira. You must of been frightened with what happened.” Mira nodded.

“You just met her, and she became your girlfriend that fast?” Her father pointed out.

“She doesn’t have anyone but me, as far as she remembers. I really like her and she likes me. Should there be any other reason, why we can’t be together?”

Delta’s mother elbowed her husband, “No honey, I’m glad you found someone. I did like Kialani, but you don’t like her like that right?” Delta nodded quickly.

Her father sighed, “Alright. If it makes you happy, I’m okay with it. But with one condition.” Delta waited for her father to speak, he cleared his throat, “You must help her remember who she is. Then she can decide if she wants to stay with you or go back to the life she left behind. If she decides to stay, then you can get married right away.” he turned and walked out of the room.

Delta started squealing and hugged Mira. Although Mira was confused, she knew it was good news. They stayed and chatted with the Queen for a little.

When Delta’s mother excused herself, she turned to Mira, “Are you hungry?” Mira nodded, “Okay, let’s go. I’ll take you to taste something tasty.” she stood up and reached her hand out towards Mira. Mira smiled and took her hand. They both went out of the castle. When they were in front of the water, Delta looked at Mira, “Are you ready to transform?”

“I’ll be able to become a mermaid?” Mira asked softly.

Delta giggled, “Yea, with the necklace you can. It has a reverse effect. When I wear it on land I have legs. You’ll get a tail if you wear it while in the water.” Mira smiled and couldn’t wait to try it. “Let’s go!”
