FIVE YEARS LATER
Agnus has grown into a beautiful young woman. Her brown hair is longer but in a low ponytail, her chocolate skin luxurious and her hazel eyes shined. She sat on a bench in the park, scrolling through her phone and holding a plastic cup of coffee in her other hand. She hardly cared for whoever was around her but then she heard.
"Daddy!" She wanted to ignore the little girl but she kept yelling for her father and agnus couldn't ignore her any longer. She stood up and saw the little girl who couldn't be much older than 4. She approached her, smiling and crouching down to the little girls lever.
"Hey there, what's your name?" She asked softly so as not to scare the little girl.
"Misha" the little girl answered
"Hey Misha. Where's your daddy?" Agnus asked
"I-I don't know. He-He was just there but now.." Her small lips trembled, she was about to cry.
"Hey, don't cry. I'll help you find your daddy okay?" Misha nodded and Agnus picked her up "Maybe he went to buy a drink?" She said and looked around. No one looked to be missing a child, she walked, looking around for like 20 minutes before she heard "Misha!" being called from a distance. She followed the shout and saw a man, fair skin and black hair. His back was to her so he hadn't noticed her. She approached him and tapped his shoulder.
"Sir?" Agnus called. He turned and both their eyes widened. "Damien?"
"Agnus?"
"Daddy!" Misha squealed happily, reaching her hand out to her father.
"Here's your daughter" Agnus said, coming out of her shock. He took Misha from her.
"Thank you" Damien said
"Thank you auntie" Misha thanked her
"You're welcome" Agnus said then turned to leave but a hand on her shoulder held her in place.
"Please don't go,can we talk over lunch?"
She turned, her brows raised
"Sure " Agnus
At a Cafe
"So Misha is your daughter?" Agnus asked hesitantly, breaking the silence. They had ordered and Misha was happily eating fries.
"Yeah" Damien answered
"Is she your only or...?" Agnus trailed off but Damien already knew her question and he answered
"My only"
"How old is she?" Agnus asked
"4" Damien answered
"Is she..um..?" Agnus hesitated as she didn't know how to ask this but Damien understood
"Why not just ask how or where Matilda is?" He suggested
"I guess now you could tell me" Agnus said
"She's Matildas daughter. It was an accident, back at school, a few months after you left. I found out she'd been using me for my money and was also cheating on me. She is not a good person, when I found out, she told me she was pregnant. I still broke up with her but she had the baby and I took a DNA test, she's mine but Matilda left, after a few months, she just up and left, said she only stuck around to breastfeed and that she wasn't ready for a child. I'm sorry for the way I treated you in school, I just didn't know how to react" Damien explained and apologized
"Acting nice would have worked" Agnus stated, not mincing words
"I'm sorry, really sorry" He apologized
"It's fine, it's all in the past and I always knew you were kind. I can't believe you decided to raise her when Matilda left, I still can't believe how much she changed. I don't even know her. I'm sorry for what you had to go through" Agnus said, her voice full of understanding
"It's fine, it's not like you caused it and I don't regret it, having Misha that is" He clarified
"So how's life?" Agnus asked with a smile
"Fine, I took over my dad's company and although I'm busy. I've gotta make time for Misha" Damien explained
"You're doing a great job" Agnus commented. He smiled at her
"So I couldn't help but notice you look good...well um like you're doing well and.." His rambling was cut off when she chuckled.
"Calm down, I'm great. I have my own business, a fashion store" Agnus said
"That's great, congrats "
"Thanks" Agnus then received a notification and took out her phone. She stood up "I've gotta go, I'm sorry"
"It's fine but can I get your number?" He asked
"Sure" Agnus saw no reason to not give him her number. Afterwards she left but little did agnus know that she was signing up for a whirlwind of drama. Chapter 3 will be out soon
