Chapter 7

‎The next day ‎"So no misha?" Agnus asked as she walked in ‎"No, I dropped her off this morning" he explained. ‎"Okay so what do we do first? Unless you invited me with no plans" she said ‎"I was thinking games, movie, take out then ice cream" he replied ‎"Okay, good thing I came prepared" she said as she dug into her bag and took out various games. His eyes widened a bit. ‎"Were you expecting to play games all day?" he asked, not quite believing his eyes. ‎"Uh, maybe" Agnus replied, uncertain ‎"You are weird" he finally said ‎"Not as weird as you" she shot back. Damien set the game/one game up and they both sat on the rug "I also happen to bring cookies" she said and took out a box of cookies. He stared at her "What?" she asked, confused, noticing his stare. ‎"You came prepared, were you nervous or...what?" he asked, a little shocked of her preparation. ‎"You could say that, I mean I've never really done this in five years" she confessed, he blinked twice "what?" he said as his comment on her sentence. ‎"I don't know why, I guess what matilda did really hurt me. I trusted no one and I never really had friends, I had classmates but nothing more" she explained ‎"I guess that explains a lot, no distractions " he stated ‎"Yeah, Matilda had been my best friend, we were childhood besties. I thought it'd last but I was wrong, her betrayal hit me hard and I just kept school at school. I declined every invite, never thought twice about it, never even gave anyone my number coz I didn't want them in my personal life. I graduated early, like early early. When the principal asked, I wasted no time, I left and never said goodbye, maybe there were some in my class who considered me friend worthy. I just never wanted to be hurt again, the pain the first time was enough. I couldn't deal with it a second time, I don't even know why I'm telling you this. I just... it's nice to have someone to call a friend. I'm sorry if I'm boring you" she explained and apologized. ‎"No, don't say that. I know it means nothing to you but I'm glad you can open up to me" he said, giving her a smile which she returned with a small smile of her own. ‎"Thanks for listening then" Agnus said ‎"Can I say something?" he asked ‎"Yeah sure" she replied ‎"You know, just because you were hurt didn't mean you had to give up on everyone. Yeah, matilda betrayed you, you never wanted to feel that way but you also probably chased away potential friends. Ones who would never betray you like Matilda did" he said. Staring intently into his eyes, she asked "would you betray me?" she whispered softly but he heard. ‎"I'd never" he answered. They both weren't sure if it was consciously or unconsciously but they leaned in, their nose almost touching and that was when agnus snapped out of it. Her eyes wide, she learned back and shook her head. ‎"We should start the game" Agnus said. Damien cleared his throat "yeah, we should" he agreed with her and what's gonna happen next?
