Chapter One- The First Encounter
How crazy is it of me to think that she would ever return into my loving embrace that I once held so dear. There were times when I thought back to the past of whenever she told me she would be coming back, and this she promised with the same ring I had I scrambled up from the last bit of change I had. I was sworn to servitude by the imperial knights that banished me greatly. I knew so many different secrets that I couldn't even live anywhere but the on the castles courters.
I protected the king with my life on the line always. He was pleasing and applauding me throughout these countless centuries.
She stood there so scared on the day we finally met, and that would be her first day working at the castle. She came off as sort of shy, and had shoulder length brown hair, with light brown eyes that I gazed into that detrimentally shook me to my core. It was an agonizing and aching feel of purely a broken heart. It was like I had known from the start.
I had accidentally knocked over her bucket of clean water, and felt it was necessary to pick it up, but was very weary giving her my name.
"Look, if I hadn't have knocked over your bucket, I wouldn't even be looming in your direction.... but," I said. "Let me help you with that."
"I'm Claudia," she said to me then. She blushed and put her hand out in front of her for a hand gesture. "And you are?"
"Benjamin," I smiled, and took her hand to kiss it with a sly peck of my lips. "It surely is a pleasure."
At that, the memory vanished clear from my mind. All those countless years of hoping she would return were gone. The doom was setting in and now, my thoughts lingered on to the monsters that went about throughout the castle. Ugly gut wrenching sights they were.
