MEETING

CHAPTER SEVEN

(SCOTT)

I watch Maddox as he prances around the living room he keeps going in and out of the room murmuring to himself, as he enters the living room for the seventh time in thirty minute, I look him from hair to his booth.

“Where are you going dressed like that”, he was in all leather from jacket to pant even his belt and bikers’ booth, he seems to be doing a lot of idiotic things lately.

“Don’t I look like a superhero in a movie?” He said with a smile. “I got a call from a friend that we are going on a saving mission, I think the attire suit the situation just fine.”

“Who is your friend and who are you going to save and from what?”

“My friend Cassandra is a seer and a finder though she just told me this morning, and we are going to find someone who I don’t know the identity of neither does she, since the image of the person keep appearing to her, she wants to find him and am ask me to accompany her, and it’s more of a finding mission than saving but who knows what we might encounter.”

“Is Cassandra not one of the female mate you told me about” I asked confused.

“You are right she is, am helping her out.”

“And you don’t think of telling me this because?”

“Because you have enough on your plate and I can handle the situation.”

“Did you forget the creature after her”, I asked surprise by my brother behavior, “what will you do if he shows up again.”

“Teleport us out of there, that’s what I will do”

“What if you aren’t fast enough, don’t you think he will be expecting that since you’ve done it once before.”

“Hmm, you have a point, why don’t you go with me at least with that we will have a fighting chance and you won’t have to worry about me or her and on the plus side you get to meet your mate.”

That stop me from saying what I was about to say, he does have a point I have to meet my mate and no time is better than now before the council call for them, at least this will give me the chance to get to know her before the meeting.

“Alright, let me get the van key and we can leave.”

Maddox have been quiet since he got in the car and am grateful for that, right now am low on nerves and am anxious, I pray whoever my mate is she would see me as a worthy partner.

I felt like it takes forever to get to our destination and to think it’s just a fifty-minute drive, I park the van outside of the apartment building while Maddox lead the way.

“Hello ladies your knight in shining armor is here and look what I brought, a helping hand,” he said gesturing towards me.

There were only three females in the sitting room they all look stunning but I don’t feel any drawn to any of them, that must mean the last female who isn’t present has to be my mate.

“Brother mine why don’t you introduce yourself.”

“How are you all holding up, Maddox told me about what happen, I will like to tell you as the leader of Rosewood clan that you will be welcome to the clan if you need help, if there’s any problem be free to call or come to the estate you don’t have to worry about the safety of the clan I will take care of that and my clan is one of the strongest in security in New York so you have nothing to worry about.”

“Thanks we will keep that in mind,” replied one of the female, she has a very long blonde hair with an athletic and strong body.

“I’m Sia, am a hunter and this is Cassandra and Sasha, the fourth person Anna isn’t here she was call for an impromptu text.”

“So that’s the name of my mate Anna, with a smile I introduced myself properly, am Scott Sinclair am a mage and a shifter.”

“Now that we’ve got that out of the way, what’s edible here” Maddox asked as he move to the kitchen counter and start to look for food, he sure know how to make himself feel at home.

“The text was a blast; it was easier than I expected.”

Every nerve in my body tighten at the sound of the voice, the hair on my nape stand up and I held my breath, this must be Anastasia, turning around to face her I was taken aback with what’s in front of me, she’s the most beautiful creature I’ve ever set my eyes on, her smile brighten up her whole features, oyster white teeth lit up the room it could jolt you like an electric current when that megawatt smile gave you her full attention, filed to perfection her Venus red fingernails ran through her black long hair spool of it plunged around her photogenic face and hid her swan neck, elegant and smooth. I look into her chocolate brown eyes that could swallow galaxies, her perfect skin that look so fragile yet so soft and a pointed straight nose, cheeks the color of pink roses and eyelashes longer than anyone’s I’ve ever seen and her out of this world body caught my attention, a small waist hidden under a red ribbed top and curvy hips that fit so perfectly in her dark washed blue jeans. This was the girl, the one I know will change the way I look at life.

“Hello, am Anna you must be Scott, Maddox brother you look a lot alike nice to meet you.”

“It’s my pleasure, I inhale to get her scent, she smells of earth and mine, totally mine. I was tongue tied I want to say more but am speechless, I can’t believe a day will come when I will be speechless in front of a lady.

“Alright, now that you are here let’s start going” Cassandra said asking everyone to get out.

“Are you sure we are going in the right direction; I feel like we are going in circle” Maddox face Cassandra.

“I’m sure, and we are not going in circle.”

I look toward Cassandra as she assures Maddox that we are going the right way. We are in the middle of nowhere with trees all around us I can’t differentiate the path we came from everything look the same and we’ve been in this maze of a place for two hours am starting to think maybe Cass was mistaken there is no way a person can live in this place its far from civilization.

“Who live in the middle of nowhere? I can’t believe someone live in a place like this what if there’s an emergency, how will they get help?” Sasha shouted.

We keep going for another hour, I was about to ask everyone to take a thirty-minute break when Sia fell into a pit.

“Seriously, what the hell”, Sasha shouted while moving in the direction of the pit, she squat down and call for Sia but there was no response.

I move towards the pit and find no trace of Sia, while accessing the pit I notice there was a tunnel with mud covering the entrance, I tell everyone to wait while I go after Sia.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea, Anna responded, why don’t we all go together.”

“That’s a terrible idea” Sasha replied.

We all focus on Cassandra, waiting for her to give her opinion since she is the one that get us into this, I hope she can find a possibility out of this situation since she is a seer and finder her abilities should be able to help us out of this mess.

“Ok, let’s all go in together though it’s not the right path to follow, it still leads to the same destination.

“Are you sure?” Sasha ask uncertain.

“Am sure, there is no need to worry.”

“Thank God, Anna said before jumping into the pit without a second thought, I was shocked by her boldness. I let everyone follow her and jumped in last.

“You all took your time, for a second here I thought you’ve ditched me.” Sia said.

“No way, we will never leave you, and my motto is sticking together till the very end” Sasha states.

“Guys, I think you all should turn around” Cassandra whispered.

We all turn around to find up to ten muscle giant men pointing weapons at us. This just keep getting frustrating.

“Well, well, well, what do we have here, a bunch of trespassers., now all of you put your hands up where we can see them and start moving,” a guy holding a samurai sword said as he push us in the direction he wants us to follow.

I told everyone to cooperate as I take a look at the sword, it was gleaming unnaturally am sure it must have been laced with something.

“Come on move it”

We follow them until we get to a Victorian style house and asked to wait outside, I was surprise, I can’t believe someone will build this kind of house in the middle of a forest, what are they hiding and who are they?

As a man step out of the house I move forward to stand in front of our group whoever they are have to pass through me to get to anyone of the ladies including my brother. With a frown of his face he moves closer to us.

“I’m Seth the leader of this pack and you are trespassing on my territory. Who are you people and how did you get here.”

“I’m Scott Sinclair the leader of Rosewood clan, you may have heard of it.”

“I have, what is the leader of Rosewood clan doing in my territory.”

“We are looking for someone and our search led us here.”

“Who is it you are looking for.”

“You, Cassandra replied confidently.”

With a raised eyebrow Seth face Cass. “And why are you looking for me, I don’t think we’ve met before, who are you?”

“My name is Cassandra gilbert am a seer and finder, I’ve been seeing you in my vision lately though at first I don’t know why and I couldn’t get a full detail but seeing you now everything has become clearer.”

“And what is it you see now.” Seth asked suspiciously.

“You are a griffin shifter and you’ve been in seclusion for a long time due to your female being unable to shift to their human form, you’ve break contact with other supernatural communities due to a personal reason. What else is there? I think I cover all the basics.”

“Why are you here, don’t tell me you came all the way here just to tell me that.”

I took over from where Cass stop, I was very impressed, who would have thought one of the female will be able to find the whereabouts of the griffins this easily and to think that it’s been a week since the council hunters have been trying to find them.

“We are here to tell you about a threat to your pack and the curse on your females.”

“And you think am going to believe anything you say, do you have any idea how long we’ve been curse, it was before neither of you was born, so what could you possibly know about the curse. Even us don’t know the details and we’ve try everything we can think of to break this dreadful curse all our effort result in vain.

“I understand how you feel, my clan are also face with this curse, and it’s not just us two there are others, if you don’t mind let’s go in and I will explain what’s going on to you.”

“I will give you the benefit of the doubt but if I find out that you are deceiving me I will throw you out of here with broken parts.”

I know he was upset by the curse but that shouldn’t stop him from sensing his mate from the ladies with me or he is being stubborn by ignoring his senses.

He invites us to his home and I explain the whole situation to him from the curse to the creature and also the council meeting we will be having, after my explanation I sense that he has relax a little bit he was no longer stiff, there was also a look of hope on his face, I understand him I also feel the same.

“With everything you just explain do you think it’s wise to let the ladies come with you, they should be at home where it’s safe and guarded, what if you were attack on your way here that will be putting everyone’s life in danger.”

“Don’t worry I and my brother will keep them safe.”

“Excuse me dudes, we are not a bunch of helpless females, we can take care of ourselves,” Sia respond feeling insulted.

“Really, against centuries old creature? have you fight against any creature before, a shifter or elementals. This is different than fighting with humans so you can’t say you can keep yourself safe.

“Since you don’t know me Mr. griffin I will like to formally introduced myself, am Sia Williams am a hunter and I don’t hunt crops or bush animals, I hunt rogue and wanted supernatural beings, so yes I’ve fought countless creatures before.”

“So your people are among those who hunt me and my pack to death.”

“Excuse you, what are you blurting about, my family is one of the oldest line of hunters and one thing we don’t hunt is innocent, we hunt only those who hunt down innocent either human or supernatural we have morals, we are not a group of bloodthirsty humans who kills mindlessly.

“I find that hard to believe, all the hunters I’ve met in my experience and I mean every single one of them, always come after my people without reason especially our females since they can’t shift.”

“Maybe it’s the clorocons you are talking about, they are associations of hunters who hunt rear and powerful supernatural for experiment, their blood and powers are used in producing weapons and drugs, they’ve been around for a long time now. Some even said they ground the bones of their captors to make different cures.

“How is it that no one knows of them” I asked surprise at this new information.

“They are very discreet, no one knows their base or their labs and trust me we’ve try to locate them, but every time any hunter group try to locate them they always end up dead while some won’t know how they miss them, the few that make it alive of their base die after a day or two, it’s from those few we get the little information we have on them. I think they’re using magic or something.

“Wow, this is crazy I thought the only thing out there killing people are the elementals now you are saying there is a whole association of hunters who kill supernatural?” Maddox ask.

“Yes, and they don’t kill only supernatural but humans too, they take human male and female and breed them with different supernatural to see what the results will be.”

“This is so twisted but don’t you think these associations might be working with the elementals, we all know the elementals kidnap females even when the creature said it’s us he wants, why kidnap someone else then, what if they are being use for experiments, and Maddox told me the other day that the longest a supernatural being can live is two hundred and fifty years not over three centuries, what if it’s the experiments that’s keeping the creature alive and strong to this day,” Anna explained.

I couldn’t have agreed more with her, what she just said make complete sense I can’t help but smile at my mate, she’s such a smart person. “I think I will inform the council as well and we can find a solution to this.”

“That will be a good idea,” Seth responded, “and I will keep you inform if there’s any sighting of them.”

“They can find you in this maze you live in? Sasha asked surprised.

“You find us didn’t you”

“That’s because Cass is a finder.”

“Don’t worry they have not been able to find us here but they sometimes hunt close to the forest here.”

“That’s crazy, I can barely differentiate the forest from another.” Sia said.

“It’s getting late I think it’s time for us to get going and I will be expecting you at the council meeting Seth.”

“No problem Scott I will be there.”
