Mariana froze after hearing the voice speak. It was Albert Robertson, he owned the company she was working in. "Talk to me," He beckoned to Mariana. She knew there would only be a dramatic scene there if she tried to talk to him so she quickly tried to get away but he quickly ran After and caught up with her. "Who is this?" Albert Robertson asked about the boy Mariana holding in her arms. "Do not speak about him!" She responded aggressively to his question. "Why are you upset," Albert asked her. "You disappeared just like that," Albert continued. Seriously? Mariana must have thought. He was blaming her for disappearing? "Are you saying this to me?" Mariana had tears lurking around the corridors of her eyes when she asked this. "Did you not?" Albert Robertson asked her. "You are so shameless!" Mariana cursed. "Why are you being angry at me?" Albert was bewildered. He didn't understand why she was throwing tantrums immediately when she saw him. "And besides what are you doing working as a janitor?" Albert was even more confused about this that was why he asked. His father had told him that Mariana resigned to go work overseas. "That's none of your business," Mariana wiped the tears off her eyes. It dropped with every slightest blink. "Talk to me." Albert was even more confused by her silence. He was ignorant of everything that went on in the last two years. "You fired me!" Mariana had her fingers pointed at him. "You refused to let me into your company when I came to inform you of your responsibility," Mariana continued in tears. "You also went ahead to chase me away from your house." By now the tears were flowing without any restriction. Mariana was overwhelmed by her emotions. "You rejected your child!" The last statement was the most hurtful for her. Mariana let out an outburst of tears. "What?" Albert could not believe what he had just heard from Mariana. "Is this my son?" Albert tried to touch him but Mariana moved the boy out of his reach. "You have no right to him!" She said in rage. Albert was so confused. "I didn't Chase you out of my company," He said to Mariana. "You turned in Your resignation letter and I thought it was because of what happened between us at the hotel." Mariana was not going to believe anything he said. She never turned in any resignation letter to anyone. "You want to deny you didn't see all the calls and texts?" "I didn't see anything," Albert argued. "My dad accidentally broke my phone but the first thing I did after getting a new one was to call you." "You are so unbelievable," Mariana said to Albert. She was disgusted by the sight of him. "You can never have a place in my son's life," Mariana said boldly to him. From her words, and the look on her face, it showed she wasn't playing around. "Goodbye!" Mariana took her son out of the sight of Albert. Luckily, it was Albert's company so he had the information of the residents of the workers. There was a knock on the door in the evening. "I'll go get the door," Natasha volunteered. "Someone is looking for you," Natasha came back to say. "Who's that?" Mariana asked. Natasha didn't want to say who, she preferred that Mariana just go and answer the person. Mariana had already informed her that she met Albert earlier that day. Mariana heeded Natasha's words and went out to see the person. "What are you doing here!" Mariana asked angrily. She was so hostile to him. "I just want to talk," Albert said in a very calm voice. "There's nothing to talk About," Mariana said to him. She attempted to go back in but he stopped her. "We seriously need to talk, please." "I'll give you just five minutes to say whatever you have to say," Mariana said. "I'm sorry Mariana," Albert first said, then he paused - "what you claim is true but it was my father who was responsible for all that you experienced." "You just expect me to believe that?" "I'll make everything right to show you I could never do something like that to you," Albert promised. How was he going to do that when he was going to be engaged to a certain Phoenix Lancaster in two days? "I'll take you and my child in and ensure you two have the brightest future," Albert was still on with his promises. "Your dad would never accept me, you remember?" Mariana reminded him of what he said. "I don't care, I want to prove to you that I'm not the monster you think I am." Albert made a promise to Mariana that night before he left. Albert booked the next flight back to Seattle, He was deeply enraged. "What's wrong with you? Mr. James asked Albert after he walked into the mansion in that mood. "I'm so disappointed in you father," Albert said to him. "How could you push your grandson out to the streets just because his mother is poor?" "I see you finally found out," Mr. James spoke with no remorse. "You are the cause of this!" He said to Albert. "If only you could have forgotten about every other thing and focused on your relationship with Phoenix Lancaster." "You don't have to worry because that marriage would never happen." This statement of Albert put Mr. James in shock. "You can't do that!" He said to Albert. "Please do not make me look like a fool." "You also shouldn't have made me look like a fool in front of the mother of my child," Albert told him. There was to be an engagement party the next day but Albert was going to call it off. "I can't believe you want me to get married to Phoenix Lancaster just because of how Influential her family is." Albert lamented. He needed t o get some sleep. "That's not the only reason," Mr. James said.
