Arranged Marriage, Fated Mates

Today is the day. I am to go to the neighboring pack to meet my future husband. For the past few years my pack has struggled, anything from rouge attacks to hungrier. But my marriage to Alpha Lennox. My marriage was arranged a couple years back, when I was thirteen years old. Just a starry eyed, believed in love little girl. See as werewolf’s we have mates. Other halfs that the Moon Goddess herself bless us with. At the age of eighteen, we are able to find our mates and on the day of our eighteenth birthday we finally shifted into our wolves.              Those dreams came to a halt, when my parents told me about the arrangement. Alpha Lennox was already eighteen, and had been looking for his mate. From the rumors, I heard growing up he was ruthless and cold. Killing any rouge on site and anyone who stood against him.  Which I guess is great for his pack, no one dared to attack them. Once, the deal was made and the word had spread the attacks on my pack slowed and the hunger became less of a problem. No one dared to mess with a pack that allied themselves with The Blood Wood pack.              But enough about my pending marriage. Currently sitting in my room overlooking the river and taking in the views that the River Ash Pack had to offer. Who wouldn’t want to live here, the Pack house was right off the river bend and over looked a little meadow on the other side. Nestled in the middle of the woods, about two hours from any town. It was my home and the place I loved most. Just as I thought to take in the view there was a knock on my door. “Onyx, hunny. Are you packed and ready?” My mother was anxious to say the least. Their alliance relied on my marriage to the Alpha. Talk about pressure.              The only child to an Alpha, I had no brothers to take over after my father. So once married to Alpha Lennox, we will be Alpha and Luna to both packs. “Yes, mom! My bags are packed; however, I am not ready. How can you expect me to be ready for an arranged marriage? What about my mate?” As I stared at my mom, who had the slightest frown. “Darling, I know that ever since you were little you have dreamed of finding your mate. But with the lack of an heir, we need this marriage. The pack can survive without it!” I had tried to convince my parents to let me become Alpha. But according to my father, females are not meant to be Alphas.              After what seemed like hours, I grabbed my bags and walked down stairs to the car that was sent for me. But what surprised me was that Alpha Lennox was waiting for me, and to my surprise he was beautiful! Tall, dark and handsome did him no justice. Dark brown hair, with deep blue eyes, which looked like endless pools of water. Don’t even get me started on his shoulders. Something about him was drawing me in. My eighteenth birthday was ten days away, and the wedding was five days.              As I walked to the car, I couldn’t help but wonder what made his eyes get so wide. Was there something wrong with what I was wearing? Was my hair a mess? “Hello Alpha Lennox, my name is Onyx Reynolds, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” With what seemed like an eternity passed. He finally spoke. “We must get on the road. It’s a long drive and I have business to attend to.” With that, Lennox got into the car and the driver loaded my bags. With the last goodbyes to my friends and family I got into the car. Driving away, I watched my home fade into the distance.
