HMA Chapter Five

Sakari's POV

I walked out of my room with a sense of nervousness. Today is the day I start school and I know I've been school before but right now I feel like a little girl starting her first day at nursery, maybe even worse.

I descended the stairs and with every step, I got more nervous, I could feel the butterflies in my stomach already and I hadn't even left the house yet.

"Sakari, are you okay?"

I looked up from the floor to find myself staring into Darius' piercing blue eyes and most of my nervousness faded.

"I'm just nervous."

He walked up to me and grabbed my waist, "Don't be, I'll be by your side the whole day but I have to warn you now, I'm pretty popular so girls will probably be staring at me."

"Oh s**t!"

He got a panicked look on his face.

"What? What happened?"

"Your head just got bigger!"

He smiled, "That wasn't funny Kari."

I smiled, "I thought it was but honestly though, I know girls will be staring, I mean who wouldn't? You're hot but you're mine."

"That I am."

He leaned down to kiss me and for about the 5th time, we were interrupted, "School time!!"

My brother came running out of the kitchen with a piece of toast in his hand and I just laughed, "Why are you so excited?"

"There's going to be hot girls, obviously, who wouldn't get excited over that?"

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever." I looked back at Darius, "Is it an all shifter school?"

He shook his head, "Unfortunately no, so you're going to have to control your emotions and try not to get revealed."

"Don't worry, my old school was the same and I was fine..."

He gave me a peck on the lips, "Today should be fine then."

"Do I look okay? I mean, is this top too much? Because I really wanna make a good impression and-"

He cut me off by pressing his lips to mine and right then, I didn't care how I looked but I really wanted his opinion so I pulled away,

"Darius, seriously."

"You look fine Kari, actually no; you look beautiful, as always."

I bit my bottom lip and blushed while looking down to the ground, "Sakari don't do that."

"You know I can't help it." I whispered timidly and he tilted my head up to look at his,

"I know but when you do something as sexy as that, my wolf is practically begging me to mate with you."

"Don't make me blush then."

"You're cute when you blush though."

I smiled, "Thanks."

"Let's get going then."

He took my hand and led me out to the front of the pack house towards his car which was the Kia Optima and I've seen the adverts of the car but close up its just wow!

"Woah."

He chuckled, "Don't just stare at it, get in."

I closed my mouth and got in the car and my jaw dropped again at the inside. Leather seats, built in sat-nav, heated seats, everything that my car had.

"This just makes me miss my car."

"What car did you have?"

"Kia Sportage."

"Where is it?"

"Left it with my old pack."

"Don't worry I'll just buy you another one and don't even try arguing with me."

I sighed and just sat back on the comfortable leather seats in silence.

*15 minutes later*

Darius parked up the car and as soon as we got out he was surrounded by a crowd of girls... I guess he wasn't joking when he said he was popular then. He seemed to be a bit busy with his friends so I decided to go and get my timetable from the front office, somewhere I didn't know the direction to.

"You look lost."

Coincidence! I turned around to come face to face with a very handsome guy, I mean sure I have a mate but it doesn't mean I don't know a good thing when I see it.

"What gave it away?"

"Oh I dunno, you just seemed a bit lost."

I smiled, "Well, yeah, I am a bit lost actually, I just started today."

"Well, I'm Christophe but just call me Chris."

"I'm Sakari."

"Beautiful name to go with such a beautiful face."

"Flirting won't get you anywhere, I have a boyfriend."

"Where is he then?"

"Fair play..."

He smiled, "Look, I won't try anything, let me just walk with you to get your schedule."

"Fine, it's not like I'll be able to find it by myself."

"Follow me then."

He started walking and I follovwed close behind him and we continued walking in silence until we got to the main office.

"Excuse me?"

The lady looked up from her computer, "What can I help you with?"

"I'm here to pick up my schedule."

"Name?"

"Sakari Cascella."

She started typing in a few things, probably my name and I few minutes later she handed me a printed version of my timetable.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome and welcome to Riverside High."

I smiled and turned to face Chris, "So what lessons have you got?"

"I have, English Lit, Psychology, Biology, Politics and then English Language..."

"Well, I have Lesson, 1, 3 and 5 with you and thankfully, lesson 1 is only round the corner so come on."

He grabbed my hand and dragged me to my first lesson and he literally ran into the room,

"Sorry we're late Sir."

"Why are you late?"

"I was helping the new girl to get her timetable."

"Okay, take a seat Mr Limier."

He winked at me and went to take his seat at the back and I was just about to take a seat as well when I got asked the dreaded question of the day, "So, would you like to introduce yourself to the class?"

I groaned internally and faced the whole class, "Okay well, my name is Sakari Cascella,

I have a twin brother named Shakir and I can play guitar..."

"Welcome to Riverside High Sakari, feel free to take a seat anywhere." I nodded and went to take a seat nest to Chris, considering he kept pointing towards it.

Not even 10 minutes had passed when the drama started to occur, "Sorry I'm late Sir."

I looked up from the desk to find Darius in the doorway looking slightly angry.

"10 minutes late Mr Kepler, take a seat and don't let it happen again."

He nodded and walked over to Chris, "Move."

I looked at him shocked and Chris was about to get up but I placed a hand on his shoulder and made him sit back down.

"Don't tell him what to do, go and find another seat."

"What if I don't want to?"

"I'm not asking you, I'm telling you... Go."

He glared at Chris but didn't argue. He walked away and went to take a seat 2 rows in front of us, "How did you do that?"

I looked at Chris confused, "Do what?"

"Control him, he's been here for 3 years and he's never given up an argument like that."

"Oh did I not mention that he's my boyfriend?"

"That jerk?"

Due to my advanced hearing I heard Darius growl and I rolled my eyes, "Yes, that jerk."

"Wow, never thought he'd get a girlfriend to be honest."

"Why?"

"He never settles down, he uses girls for one thing only..."

"Hmmmm, I never knew that."

"Well now you do, I just wanted to warn you."

I smiled and a few seconds later I got a text,

Darius: Why are you listening to him?

Sakari: Because I want to, he's my friend, is there a problem?

Darius: Yes, there's a problem.

Sakari: Well, you don't see me complaining about the fact that you had about 20 girls around you.

Darius: That's completely different.

Sakari: f**k you Darius, we've been here for less than 2 hours and you've already forgot that you have a girlfriend.

I sent the text and switched off my phone, I wasn't in the mood for him right now. I put the phone in my pocket and focused all my attention on the teacher.

"Lunch*

"Sakari, wait."

I ignored him and just carried on walking even though I had no idea where I was going.

"I'm sorry!"

I stopped mid-stride and turned to face him, "Oh, you're sorry?" He nodded, "After 4 hours, you're finally sorry? I can't believe you!"

I shook my head and continued walking until I felt him grab my wrist, making me stop again, "Sakari please, just hear me out."

"There's nothing to hear out Darius, you'd rather have a bunch of girls around you than show your own girlfriend to her lesson, I don't even know why I gave you a chance."

He flinched at my choice of words, "Don't say that."

"What do you want me to say? That you're a perfect boyfriend? That I'm thankful? No Darius, just no."

I yanked my arm from his grip and walked away and then I felt a hand on my shoulder,

"Lost again?"

I smiled and nodded and we was about to continue walking when all of a sudden Darius ran over and punched him, "Don't touch her!"

He continued to punch him and I decided to intervene, "Darius! Stop!"

He stopped punching him and I pushed him off of Chris so that I could see if he was alright, "Chris, are you okay?

He wiped some blood from his nose, "I'm fine, thanks."

I looked at Darius, "Don't talk to me for the rest of the day go and hang with the girls from earlier because I certainly do not want to look at you right now."

I helped Chris up and we walked straight past Darius, "Do you want to go get your face checked out or something?"

He shook his head, "I'm fine, honest, let's just go to the canteen andI can introduce you to some of my friends."

I nodded and let him lead me to the canteen and when we walked in, it was your typical high school canteen, jocks and their girlfriends on one table, the nerds on another, the Goths on another and then the average people spaced out.

"You coming?"

I snapped out of my trance and followed Chris to a table with average looking people, "So guys, this is Sakari, Sakari, this is Lyle." He waved, "Samantha." She smiled, "Cristina." She waved, "And finally we have Ashton."

He winked at me and I just rolled my eyes, "Hi guys."

"Take a seat."

I took a seat in between Lyle and Samantha and Chris took a seat opposite, "So Sakari, first day?"

I nodded, "Yeah."

"Liking it so far?"

I shrugged, "Can't complain."

"Uh oh, bad boy alert."

I looked at Cristina confused and I turned around to see what she was looking at and then I understood, Darius was walking over to the table and I groaned.

"Sakari, can I talk to you for a minute?" I shook my head, "Say what you want to say to me right now."

The whole canteen went quiet at the situation and I stood up, waiting for him to say something.

He sighed, "Can't we do this in private?"

"It can't be important then."

I went to sit back doWn when he twisted me around and planted his lips on mine and the crowd gasped and erupted into a range of murmurs. I pulled away from him, "Say it."

He leant his forehead against mine, "I'm sorry and I will never do what I did again."

I gave him a peck on the lips, "You better not."

He smiled and took my hand and when we looked away from each other, the whole canteen was just staring at us, "Okay guys, shows over!"

That didnt do anything so Darius gave it a shot, "She said shows over! Look away!"

Immediately everyone looked away and I just stared in disbelief, he really has a lot of authority around here. I turned around back to Chris and the rest of the table and they were just staring at me in shock.

"Are you kidding me? He's your boyfriend?"

I nodded, "Yes he is."

He wrapped an arm around my waist and I leaned into him, "Well, I guess you'll be sitting with the jocks and their girlfriends then."

"Nah, I don't fit into the category Darius can but I'm staying here."

"No."

I raised an eyebrow at Darius, "Excuse me?"

"No, I mean I'll stay with you."

"Yeah, I know that's what you meant."

I sat dowm at the table but Darius just picked me up so that I could sit on his lap instead, "You two are pretty cute."

I smiled, "Thanks, I'm obviously the beauty of this relationship."

They laughed, "I have to agree, she is the beauty of our relationship."

I smiled and leaned into Darius.

Considering the fact that it's only been one day of school, I know something was going to happen soon, I just have a hunch about it but I know that whatever does happen, I'l be ready for it.
