Chapter 16 Chase Steel ~•~ Elena was going to be a tough one. But I was Chase Steel and I could get whoever I wanted. When I grabbed her waist, she hesitated before she pulled away. I knew she felt something. She also knew she felt something. But she was just pretending like she didn’t want me. “They’ll get divorced?” Elena responded with a hint of amusement in her voice. “What kind of a person are you?” She looked at me in shock. “My Dad has a track record, so I know what I am talking about,” I replied, folding my arms. “So instead of waiting until he f***s up, let’s start now.” Elena’s expression faltered for a brief second, but she quickly masked it. Then she let out an awkward laugh. “I don’t think it’s okay for me to root for my mom’s divorce, so whatever’s going on in your head, it’s not going to happen.” Her voice was sharp, and it sounded like she meant every single word. But I wasn’t the one to back down so easily from a fight. I saw it as a challenge, and my goal was to show her I was up to it. “Challenge accepted,” I said with a mischievous smirk. Elena rolled her eyes, shaking her head. “You’re unbelievable.” I laughed. “How?” “You’re one of those stuck-up rich kids who think that no girl can resist them because of their daddy’s money.” “Is that really what you think about me?” I demanded, taking a few steps forward to close the distance between us. “You think that I live off my father’s money?” She nodded without hesitation. “Yes. And you’re spoiled and entitled,” she added, glaring at me. “So what? You don’t like spoiled and entitled kids?” I asked, my eyes fixed on hers. She couldn’t hold my gaze. She looked away immediately. “It doesn’t matter what I like or not,” she said quietly. “But I just need you to accept the fact that nothing is ever going to happen between us.” Her words hit harder than I’d expected. But I didn’t let it show that it affected me. I knew her type; and I loved the game that we were about to play. It wouldn’t take long before she would be on my bed, screaming my name. “How are you so sure that nothing is going to happen between us?” I asked, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Her breath hitched. And she closed her eyes for a brief moment. Then suddenly, she pushed me away. I staggered backward but I was able to compose myself before I could fall to the ground. My lips curled into a small smile. “If you really didn’t want me, you wouldn’t have hesitated or closed your eyes before deciding to push me away.” Elena laughed, shaking her head. “You’re really delusional. And you’re cocky. But I’m sorry to burst your bubble, I’m not like those college girls who would be going crazy because of someone like you.” “Someone like me?” I repeated, trying to understand what she meant by that line. “What do you mean?” She let out a sigh. “Caleb or whatever your name is, please leave me alone.” Elena was about to walk past me, but I grabbed her by the waist again. This time around, she didn’t try to pull away. “It’s Chase, and you know that,” I murmured against her ear. “My name is Chase. You’re not letting go right now because my touch makes you feel so good.” Elena didn’t respond. She just stood there quietly, her breathing labored. I could feel the heat radiating from her body. Her waist fit perfectly in my palm like she was made for my hands. Like she was made for me. But she hadn’t realized it just yet. “You’re lying to yourself,” I whispered, my lips brushing the shell of her ear. My voice dropped lower, and rougher. “You’re just trying to resist me, but you can’t anymore.” “Chase…” Her voice was a warning, but she had no idea the things it did to my body. Fuck, I loved the sound of how she called my name. I slid one hand slowly, up to her side, tracing the curve of her waist until I got to the underside of her breast. “Say it again. Say my name like you want me,” I breathed, my eyes fixed on her lips. “Tell me all the things you want me to do to you.” The hallway went silent for a while, the only sound was the faint sound of our uneven breathing. “Elena,” I continued, my voice sultry. “Talk to me. Tell me everything you want me to do to you.” She was still silent for a long moment, her body pressing mine. My c**k was already hard and waiting for her to say the word. I’d already pictured everything I would do to her even if she was too shy to tell me about them. Then without warning, she let out a soft, breathless laugh right against my neck. I frowned. “God, you’re really something else,” she continued laughing as she pulled away from my grip. “Is that all you’ve got?” I pulled back just enough to see her face. Her lips were curved in a mocking little smile. “You actually think you’re irresistible, don’t you? Mr. Chase Steel, the big bad wolf who’s about to make me melt with a few smooth words and a hand on my tit.” “You’re laughing at me right now?” I asked, my voice low and rough. I wouldn’t lie. I was embarrassed. For a moment, I thought she was already falling for me and about to give in to the temptation. “Oh, I am,” she said, still chuckling softly. “Tell me everything you want me to do to you,” she mimicked in a deep and exaggerated voice. Then she laughed again. I must’ve judged Elena wrongly. It wasn’t going to be easy to get her under my sheets. If I wanted that to happen, I had to try harder.
