Rainie's POV
I ran out of the office as if my life depended on it.
Thankfully, my bag was already packed. When I went back to retrieve it, I was terrified that Alexander might follow me, but luckily, he didn't.
The elevator was on the first floor, and I didn't dare wait for it, so I rushed down the emergency staircase.
By the time I reached the lobby, I was so exhausted that my face turned pale.
It was snowing outside, and the snowflakes were large and fluffy, gracefully descending from the sky. I shivered and reached out my hand.
A single snowflake gently landed in my palm, crystal-clear and pristine, making me feel even dirtier. I stood there in a daze for a while, then remembered that I needed to call my father.
I took out my phone, only to find that Alexander had turned it off.
