The velvet leash

It was Sarah's first day on the job. She was excited to work for one of the best companies in her field. She had worked all her life for such an oportunity, which never left any room for dating or anything even resembling a personal life, but she was determined to finally change that! She had been approached by the company's HR Head Hunter and both the prestige of the company, and the salary increase were enough to sway her away from her previous job. [Sarah's POV] Upon entering Ave Inc. for the first time, she noted some tension, especially from the other women in the room, but she assumed that it was either all in her head, or it was just natural and unhealthy competition towards a newcomer... She was greeted by an impecably dressed man "Ah! You must be Miss Bloom. I hope you dont mind being called Sarah, we are quite casual here. I am Fredrick Jones the HR manager. But please call me Fred". It was somewhat unusual in her field for a company to be on first name basis, but it was a welcome change, although judging by the way all women were dressed, casual did not come to mind... "Thank you Fred. I am looking forward to be part of the team.", Fred smiled "Avery Jones will want to speak with you. She is the big boss around here," he leaned over consipirationally "just not of me 'cause she is my big sister" he laughed "wait here she must be almost finished with her meeting". Five minutes had barely gone by when an office door opened and a woman walked out, hair slightly disseveled but she seemed to make a point of showing it, almost like she was flaunting it. She looked at her dismissively as she passed her with a terse "Ms Jones is ready to see you". She entered the office space, there looking out the window was a dapper dressed woman, wearing a three piece suit and a navy blue tie. She had short,somewhat, wavy hair. Sarah had never seen a woman quite like this... She knew androgynous style was in fashion, but the woman before her seemed to somewhat transcend that. There was an energy about her that she couldnt quite place... "Miss Bloom sit." Her voice was hypnotic, assertive... she just hoped that she hadn't been caught staring. She did as she was told.
