CONTINUATIONS... CHAPTER 1-The New Student
"The Blue Dragons are attacking the Silver Wolves."
Riven's expression changed.
Mika stood immediately.
"Where?"
"The gym."
Riven looked at Axeril.
"Stay here."
Axeril raised an eyebrow.
"Why?"
"Because this has nothing to do with you."
Riven and the Black Panthers rushed out.
Axeril watched them disappear.
Lia approached her.
"Please don't."
"Don't what?"
"Follow them."
Axeril looked toward the doors.
Then she sighed.
"I'm not following them."
Lia smiled with relief.
Axeril picked up her backpack.
"I'm going to the gym."
Lia's smile disappeared.
"That's following them!"
Axeril walked away.
The hallway was already filled with students running toward the gym.
Axeril followed the crowd.
When she arrived, chaos had erupted.
The Silver Wolves stood on one side.
The Blue Dragons stood on the other.
Students shouted.
A teacher tried to intervene.
Nobody listened.
At the center stood Kairo Shin.
His uniform was torn.
Across from him was Zane, leader of the Blue Dragons.
"You crossed our territory," Zane said.
Kairo clenched his fists.
"You attacked one of my members."
"Because he stole from us."
"I didn't."
"You expect me to believe that?"
Zane stepped forward.
The fight was about to begin.
Then Riven arrived.
"STOP!"
Everyone turned.
Riven walked between the groups.
"This ends now."
Zane laughed.
"You don't control us."
"No."
Riven looked around.
"But I can make sure nobody wins."
Zane's smile disappeared.
Then a loud crash came from the side.
Everyone looked.
Axeril had entered.
Riven's eyes widened.
"What are you doing here?"
Axeril shrugged.
"Watching."
"I told you to stay away."
"I didn't agree."
Mika laughed.
"This girl is unbelievable."
Suddenly, one of the Blue Dragons rushed toward Axeril.
"Move!"
Axeril didn't.
The boy swung.
She ducked.
He swung again.
Axeril stepped aside.
Then she caught his arm and redirected his momentum.
He fell onto the mat.
The entire gym went silent.
Axeril looked down.
"Are we finished?"
The boy stared at her in shock.
Kairo's eyes widened.
Mika smiled.
Riven stared at Axeril.
Now he understood.
She wasn't simply confident.
She was trained.
Highly trained.
Before anyone could speak, the gym lights suddenly went out.
Darkness filled the room.
Students screamed.
A second later, the emergency lights switched on.
But something was wrong.
A black envelope lay on the gym floor.
Riven picked it up.
On the front was a symbol.
A black panther surrounded by six red lines.
Riven opened it.
His expression became cold.
Mika looked over his shoulder.
"What does it say?"
Riven read the message silently.
Then he handed it to her.
Mika's face changed.
Axeril noticed.
"What happened?"
Riven looked directly at her.
"The academy has chosen its next target."
Axeril frowned.
"Who?"
Riven didn't answer immediately.
Then he looked at the six groups surrounding the gym.
"The leaders."
Everyone became silent.
A second message appeared on the back of the
envelope.
THE SIX FACTIONS WILL FALL.
Below it was another sentence.
AND THE NEW GIRL WILL OPEN THE DOOR.
Axeril stared at the message.
Her heart suddenly began beating faster.
Someone had been waiting for her.
Someone knew she was coming.
And for the first time since arriving at Black Panther Academy, Axeril realized something terrifying.
She hadn't been sent here by accident.
She had been brought here.
And whoever had arranged it knew exactly who she was.
The gym doors suddenly slammed shut.
Everyone turned.
The lights flickered.
A voice came through the academy speakers.
"Welcome to Black Panther Academy, Axeril Vale."
Axeril froze.
The voice continued.
"You have finally come home."
The speakers went silent.
Nobody moved.
Riven looked at Axeril.
"What does that mean?"
Axeril slowly shook her head.
"I don't know."
But deep inside, she knew something was wrong.
Because there was one thing she had never told anyone.
Not her parents.
Not her teachers.
Not even her closest friends.
Axeril had been trained long before she ever entered Black Panther Academy.
And the person who trained her had given her one final warning.
If she ever heard the words...
Welcome home.
She was supposed to run.
Instead, Axeril smiled.
Because she had finally found what she had been looking for.
The truth.
And she wasn't leaving.
Not until she discovered who was behind the
academy's secret.
Not until she learned why six gangs were fighting over a school.
And not until she found out why someone believed she was the key to destroying them all.
Outside the gym, six figures stood on the roof of the academy.
Each wore a different symbol representing one of the six factions.
But none of them were students.
The tallest figure looked toward the gym.
"The girl has arrived."
Another figure smiled.
"Then the game begins."
The first figure turned away.
"No."
He looked at the academy below.
"The war begins."
...
