Lies, Betrayal, and Love Book 2

I wake up after a good night's sleep. I spent the night at the guy's place. I looked over to see Kai, sleeping soundly. I look at the ring that was placed on my finger months ago. I can't believe we are engaged. I take my hand and rub my fingers through his hair. He started moving and I stopped. I didn't want to wake him. I go to retract my hand, but he grabs it and moves it to his lips. Kai: Morning. Me: Morning. How'd you sleep? Kai: Great since I get to wake up next to you. Me: I swear you have a way with words. Kai: I wonder why that is. He pulls me close to him. I tried to get out of bed, but he wouldn't let me. He pulls me even closer before I feel a cold hand on my bare skin. Me: What are you doing? Kai: Nothing. He starts tickling me. I laugh excessively. I got to the point where I was squirming to break free from him but his grip on me was tight. Laughing so much, I had tears coming from my eyes borderline about to pee myself. Me: Kai stop I have to pee. Kai: You're not going to fool me with that. Me: Kai, I'm serious. I have to pee. He stops immediately. I slowly get out of bed due to fear of actually wetting myself. I'm doing the pee pee dance. I feel him staring at me and I look back at him. Me: This is your fault sir. He just laughs. I finally made it to the bathroom. So glad I didn't piss myself. I finally returned to the room to find Kai getting dressed. I will never be used to the fact that this guy is my fiancé. I walked up and gave him a kiss. Me: Off to work? Kai:Yeah. I have in order to give you everything your heart desires. Me: You're the only thing my heart desires. Kai:Ugh! When you say things like that. He starts to unbutton his shirt and take his shoes off. I stopped him and started re-buttoning his shirt. He brushes his lips against mine. I can't bring myself to pull away. Kai: I'll be home as soon as I can. Me: OK. Kai: I love you princess. More than anything. You are my everything. Me: I love you too. And you are my everything love. He leaves for work. I give him one final kiss, before he heads out the door. I fall back onto the bed still in disbelief that he's going to be my husband soon. Today has officially marked 1 year since the guys proposed to us. Our anniversary is coming up in a few days. Kai has been busy since getting his promotion. Leon and Monica are doing well. They decided to go down to the courthouse to get married. Still think it's weird because they waited a week after the proposal to actually get married. I guess they are learning as they go. Lilly and Briggs are having their wedding in a month. Life couldn't be better. I'm glad I didn't give up on Kai and me. I received a text from Kai saying he was going to be a little late. I'm used to it by now. He works hard. And I love that about him. Lilly and Briggs walk into the living room. Lilly: We're gonna head out. Got to take care of more wedding things. Me: Ok. You guys have fun. They leave to handle more things for their wedding. I head to my room to take a nap when there's a knock on the door. I opened the door to find Kai leaning on the door frame. Looking good might I add his black suit that's opened up with no tie on. Me: How was work love? Kai: Good. Meeting with the boss ran longer than I thought. How was your day princess? Me: It was OK. Just hung out here all day. Just woke up from a nap. He steps inside and closes the door. I start heading to my room when he pulls me towards him. All I smell is his cologne, as if he just put it on. He leans in and kisses me. I followed his lead, wrapping my arms around his neck. He pulls away and leads me to the couch. He sits down and pulls me into his lap. Kai: I missed you so much. Me: Oh please. It was just a few hours. Kai: Hours I'd rather spend with you. I start giggling. That was corny. He may not look like a softie, but I love this side of him. He kisses me again. This time deepening the kiss. I lose myself in his kisses. Eventually, we stop leaving each other breathless. Kai: Think you can get the weekend off? I have something special planned. Me: Yeah. I don't see why not. Kai: Good. We're gonna have a little anniversary getaway. Me: To where? Kai: You'll see when we get there. I sulk, but I know it's going to be fun. It's a getaway with my man and it's our anniversary. The weekend can't come soon enough. I started thinking of things I should pack. I have no clue where or what we'll be doing. It's finally the day of our trip. Kai had to work, so I'm doing some last-minute packing. Kai sends a text that he'll be here in 10 minutes. I did a final mental check. I have everything and zip up my suitcase. I got another text from Kai that he's here. I leave the apartment to go meet him. Lilly in the kitchen drinking coffee. She has a look on her face. Lilly: Well, you seem excited. Me: I am. Maybe too excited. Lilly: Have fun. She gives me a hug and waves me off. When I get outside, he's in another suit, this time dark blue, leaning on a car. I expected him to show up in a cab. Me: You got a rental? It's so nice. Kai: Nope. It's ours. Me: What? When ? How did you get this? Kai: My boss gave me a nice little bonus, so I bought us a car. We'll be needing one of our own, so why not get one now? I can't take my eyes off the car. It's a Black mustang with a convertible top, rims shining, just like my man. He walks up and grabs my suitcase and loads it in the trunk. He then opens the door and I get in. He closes the door and gets in on the driver's side. Something about seeing him in the driver's seat, in this car, is driving me crazy. Kai: Are you ready? Me: Yes! Couldn't be more ready! He grabs my hand and kisses the back of it. He starts the car up. The top starts to go back. I turn around as the top is going back. I don't know why I'm so fascinated by it. I looked at Kai, who was smiling back at me. We pulled away from the apartment, heading to our destination.
