Weekend Getaway

I don't know when I fell asleep. It's around 7pm when we arrive at a gorgeous lake house. I stepped out of the car in complete awe. I'd never seen anything more gorgeous. Even Kai's parents' house doesn't compare. Is this really where we're spending our anniversary? There's a huge yard, a lake and pier, a mother-in-law's suite, a huge balcony or terrace, whatever rich people would call it.
Kai: Surprise! Just for us!
Me: Surprise is right. How did you find this? Is this one of those Air b-n-bs?
Kai: It's my boss' vacation home. He let me borrow it as an anniversary/pre-wedding gift.
Me: It's so huge. I imagine he has a huge family.
Kai: I don't know. Maybe he does. Not the point. The point is it's ours for the next few days. All ours!
Me: Well let's not waste anytime!
He grabs our luggage out of the trunk of the car and takes it to the front door. I pulled out my phone to take a picture. Lilly will definitely want to see this. I started snapping pictures of everything. Kai comes back and sweeps me up in his arms, almost making me drop my phone. He princess carries me to the front door.
Me: Kai, what are you doing? You're going to drop me!
Kai: I'm carrying my women. I can't have my princess walk on our anniversary. And you don't weigh much.
Me: Are you calling me a skeleton?
Kai: No, I'm saying you're not fat.
I laughed but held on to him even tighter. We finally made it to the door. He sets me down to get the keys out of his pocket. He unlocks the door and pushes it open. I step in to find the most stunning decor I have ever seen. There is a chandelier hanging high in the house above the doorway. We brought our luggage in and he began the tour.
The living room has an 80-inch big-screen TV mounted to the wall, a black leather sectional, and a marble-top coffee table with a little lamp on each end. The kitchen is decked out with all new appliances that can be operated through a phone. The bathroom and dining room are done up in marble as well. We head upstairs to the bedrooms. There are three rooms, but we head to the one I believe to be the master bedroom.
Kai: This is where we'll be sleeping.
Me: Wow!
I glanced around the room. The bed looks super soft and the black comforter looks even softer. I headed to the bathroom, taking in all the details. I ran my fingers along the sink counter. This place is never going to seize to amaze me. I spotted a large walk-in shower and found one of those tubs that could also be a jacuzzi. I feel like I'm in a 5-star hotel. He heads downstairs to grab our luggage and take it back upstairs to put it into the room. I followed and sat on the couch. He comes back downstairs and flops down on the couch next to me.
Kai: So, since our anniversary isn't until tomorrow, what do you wanna do today?
Me: I dont know. What do you want to do?
Kai: I asked you first.
Me: But it's OUR anniversary. Not just mine.
Kai: Ok, but my job is to make you happy on Our anniversary.
Me: As it is also my job to make YOU happy on OUR anniversary.
Kai: Are we just going to keep this loop going?
Me: Maybe until you decide.
Kai: Fine you show and I'll pick the food.
Me: Deal!
Kai: Ok, Chinese food.
Me:Spongebob marathon!
Kai: Really? That's it?
Me: I'm a giant kid at heart. Besides, you like it too. Also, I'm with you, which makes it even better.
Kai: Your right, because I feel the same. I'll order us some dinner.
Me: Ok.
Maybe I'm being childish. But I really do want to watch SpongeBob. But he may not want to. He said he did, but I should confirm, so I turned around to ask him.
Me: Are you sure you're OK with SpongeBob?
He just shakes his head yes. I'm not even sure if he heard me. I go ahead and put an episode on. My favorite one is when they pretend they are pirates with the flying Dutchman. Kai comes and joins me on the couch.
Kai: What are we watching?
Me: I told you SpongeBob. We literally just talked about this.
Kai: Oh yeah.
Me: What did you order for dinner?
Kai: Oh s**t! I forgot. I'll order the chinese now.
Me: I thought you had already ordered it? Who were you on the phone with then?
Kai: Oh uh....my boss called and was asking about the latest software update we're working on.
I just look at him but don't say anything else. He calls and orders the Chinese and then snuggles up close to me. I lay my head on his shoulder and the next episode comes on.
Thirty minutes later the food arrives. Kai goes to pay for it and I go grab drinks. I grab a few cokes out of the fridge. I set them down, then we started eating. Dinner is eaten in silence as the only sound is of SpongeBob laughing. It's close to 9 pm when Kai announces he's going to bed. He gives me a kiss good night and heads upstairs. I decided to watch some more TV and text Lilly. Telling her about the house and asking how Monica's pregnancy was going. A little later I headed upstairs. I got to the room and see Kai sitting on the bed with his phone. When he notices me, he puts it on the night stand.
Me: Thought you were going to bed?
Kai: I am. I was texting my boss to thank him for letting us borrow his house.
Me: Oh ok. Yeah, this is definitely a nice house. I want one like this one day.
Kai: Your wish is my command. We will have one like this one day. I promise.
I grab some clothes and head into the bathroom to change into some sleepers. I brush my teeth, floss, and put my hair up. I cut the light off and headed back into the bedroom. Kai is patting the spot next to him. I climbed into bed and snuggled close to him. He kisses me, pulling me closer to him. His tongue slides into my mouth as I let out a moan. His hand slides down to my butt. He grabs it and I don't move. Touch but nothing more. He pulls away and looks me in the eyes.
Kai: I love you princess.
Me: I love you too, baby. Good night.
Kai: Good night love.
I turn over and he pulls me against him. He nuzzles up close. I close my eyes and fall asleep to the rhythm of his breathing. Tomorrow can't come soon enough.
