Light.....

chapter five: The hole.....

"let me go please".I cried but the guards dragged me out they took me to the back of the mansion. I was in pain, I couldn't break free because they were stronger than me.

"keep still".one of them shouted.

"let me go please".I cried but they wouldn't listen. They took me to the other cottage. two hefty guards were standing at the front. they opened the door it was too dark inside, they pushed me inside the hole.It was very deep and scary.

I fell on my stomach with force,I was in so much pain it was so dark and I couldn't see anything at all.

"please somebody help me".I cried.I tried to stand up but I couldn't it was then I discovered that my knee was dislocated.

"somebody please help".I cried but there was no answer. suddenly stones started to fall, I didn't know what to do, or where to hide because it was too dark. then someone held my hand.

"Come to this side, try the stones fall lesser here be careful".she said

"I can't let me die".I cried.

"let's go the stones only get worser".she said. then a stone fell on my leg then I screamed. she removed it and helped me get to the corner.

"stop crying".she said.

"you could have allowed me to die".I cried.

"Crying or dying doesn't solve it, if you die your family dies".she said.

"What do you mean".I said as I wiped my tears.

"Marie is a very dangerous and powerful woman,you just have to survive for the sake of your family".she said.

"I will escape".I said hopefully.

"your family dies and you too the security here is really tight, you are new here".she said.

"yes I am what's your name".I asked.

"Annette and yours".she said.

"light".I said.

"your name is not really common".she said.

"Everyone tells me that, Annette why are you here".I said.

"I failed to complete a task,I was so tired i had been working for two days without getting any rest, don't worry I am already used to the hole at least I can rest here for a while and you".she said sadly.

"I stood up for myself,she was insulting my parents and when she tried to strangle me I kicked her leg".I said and she laughed.

"you kicked Marie, that's so brave I must applaud your courage".she said.

"that's what got me here,how long have you been here".I asked.

"five hours don't worry we will be out by tomorrow you must be thaniel's wife".she said.

"he is not fit to be called my husband".I said bitterly.

"but he is your husband you know I love Ellis".she said. I wondered how she was able to love that fool.

"It's time for the next round don't be scared". she said.then hot coals began to fall.

"This is insane".I cried as a coal fell on my skin, it was burning.lady Marie had planned this to torture people.

"Sorry come closer".she said as she pulled me in.I noticed she was with child

"does he know you are with child".I asked.

"you mean pregnant,It's a girl child so lady Marie doesn't want the child".she cried.

"look Annette what of Ellis".I said

"Draco is the father of the child,I was supposed to marry Ellis but Draco forced himself on me and he denied it, the marriage was cancelled lady Marie blamed me for seducing Draco and then made me a servant".she cried.I felt so bad for her there was nothing I could do to help her.

"stop crying Annette these people are cruel, I can't believe they can do this to you,how will I be able to survive and live here".I said.

"look light, my father lord Bartholomew didn't have a choice even at that I was so happy coming here, but these people ruined my life".she cried.

"It's okay".I said as I hugged her.

The family gathered at the dinning table to have dinner. thaniel was the last person to sit down.

"lady Marie,it's enough you should release them now".thaniel said Calmly. everyone glared at him.

"you red haired wife and that slave should suffer for their mistakes".Brandon said.

"don't you know that it's not right to ruin this meal".Ellis said disgustingly.

"look thaniel we can discuss this matter later".draco said, he doesn't joke with his meal and they knew.

"thaniel you know I hate this, yet you continue to ruin my meal".lady Marie said as she dropped her cutlery on the table.

" lady Marie you like doing business right, I have an offer for you".thaniel said.

"thaniel this is very disrespectful".lady Martha yelled.

"Bring your voice down, we are not in the market don't forget you are in my house".lady Marie warned.

"I am sorry".lady Martha said in defeat.

"better,thaniel speak".lady Marie said.

"I will resume being a doctor at the hospital, if you release them and Annette has to get rest six hours daily".thaniel said and she laughed.

"you are giving me orders, how dare you".lady Marie yelled.

"It's a business agreement, you can't force me to work in the hospital or you can kill them if you want to".thaniel said as he stood up and left

"you want to rebel against your mother". Draco said in disbelief.

"please let's eat in peace and ......"Timothy said

"you fool who gave you the right to talk in our matter".Brandon said rudely.

"but I didn't say anything bad". Timothy said calmly. then Draco threw a knife at him but he dodged it.

"Draco".lady Marie yelled and left.

"look mother am sorry but that boy keeps irritating me I might kill him one day you know".Draco said as he glared at Timothy.

"I am sorry lady Marie". Timothy cried.

"you could have killed my son".uncle Matthew said angrily.

"Tell your son not to butt our family matters or else I will kill him myself he is a psychopath".Brandon said angrily.

"Timothy I have told you not to say anything but you don't listen am full".uncle Matthew said as he stood up

"Matthew it's seem you have forgotten the rules you must finish your food before leaving we don't want to waste food do we".Ellis said

and uncle mattew sat down.

"let's eat peacefully".Brandon said..

"look they have brought the carrier, it's time for us to go".she said as she stood up.

"I can't walk there".I said.

"let's go you can do it".she said and she helped me. It took us to the top and we got out. I glared at the guards when we came out of the cottage it's was already morning, they had kept me there for a day.

"I can't my legs hurt".I cried as we walked to the main house,

"we will soon get there".she said, she was my aid,I didn't understand why the workers in the field were staring at us.

"why are they looking like that".I said.

"look light they are feeling bad because we came out so another person will have to go into the hole, they aren't happy to see out".she said.

"That's cruel".I said and then I heard a noise, suddenly Annette fell.

"Annette please don't die".I cried, blood was everywhere someone shot her.

"light, you must fight to survive thank you for being in the hole with me take care, find father Jonathan he will help you.......".she closed her eyes.

"Annette please don't die wake up".I cried.

"Don't waste your tears, I could have killed you too".lady Marie said as she came outside with all her sons.

"how could you do this to her, Draco you allowed your mother to kill your child".I cried.

"look girl this isn't your village deal with it".Draco said. then they entered their cars and drove off.

"Annette didn't deserve this, I will make sure you pay for this".I said as I managed to stand up.........
