Unbreakable Bond

Chapter 2

*Paige*

I was sitting on the back of my Ford F-150 pickup truck, trying to get some alone time to talk to my sister Aria. She hadn't picked up my telepathic call so, now I am trying her cell.

 "Hello", she answered on the third ring.

 "Aria I need to speak to you about something important", I said.

 "Okay hold on one sec Paige. I'm setting up the nursery for the twins. Isn't it amazing that I'm having twins and we were twins too?" She screamed into the phone all excited.

 "Yeah it's cool", I said rolling my eyes. I never understood why she wanted children in the first place. The world was no place to raised our kind and she knew that. She wanted to be normal. I didn't get it, we were extraordinary and powerful. 

"Paige what is it?" she asked. 

"I don't have much time Aria. I am about to go undercover again for the agency to find a way to take down the society. There are mutants there who need my help but it is dangerous. I need your help, can you see if you can find anything in the area I just sent you?" Aria took the phone from her ear to put it on speaker. 

She looked at the message her sister just sent her. 

"Mediterranean Sea?" she questioned. 

"Aria focus please. Look in that area, more on-", Aria cut her off "Ibiza. Paige what is this?" She asked, recalling a dream about something in that area. 

"Aria please. This is important." I was desperate, she knew it but she also knew I was withholding information. She was quiet for a moment, which I took as she was searching. She was the best seeker I knew. I always called her to do things like this to help me so I would know what I was getting myself into. She never told me no, just- her voice pulled me from my thoughts.

 "Paige I'm not getting anything. No mutants but there is a strong force up blocking me. Something strange I never seen before". she said uncertain with herself.

 "That is better than what we got without you and more. It make sense." I said

 "Paige something doesn't feel right. You shouldn't go. Just come here and be with me, the babies will be here soon." she said scared of what she got. 

That just made me want to go even more. I needed to go. "I can't Aria they need me." 

"I need you. Promise me you'll be safe and think before going in. Collect all the information first. Promise me Paige". 

She never sound this worried. Maybe I shouldn't go, but who is better and stronger than me. I had to go. 

"I promise", I said what I had to, then hung up. 

Suddenly there was a cold wind that passed through me and I did not like it, not one bit. Something was off I didn't know what though. I went back inside to my boyfriend of the week or month I wasn't sure yet. I was sure that I liked him a lot.

**********PRESENT DAY***********

Aria was driving out to the cabin, she and her sister always went to when they couldn't figure things out, practice their powers and do spells. Their grandmother Cora was a witch and had all the necessary things they would need to find Paige. She lived in that cabin alone once the girls went off to do their own thing. The cabin was further in the woods behind the house their father had built for them. Cora wanted to be away from people as much as possible. They didn't appreciate her or her gifts she offer to them daily. She hasn't been here since her grandmother's funeral six years ago. 

As they pulled up to the cabin, Aria had a sense of message coming and it took over as soon as she parked. 

"Aria what's going on? Are you okay?" Darren asked but she couldn't respond as her vision was in full effect.

 She was taken back 17 years ago when she was in the kitchen with her grandmother, helping her make a potion for the crazy lady, waiting on the other side of the glass in the den. 

"Grandmother why does she want to make her husband only love her? Don't they have children?" little Aria asked. 

"Because she's obviously a desperate soul Aria. Look at her." Paige said coming into the kitchen with her hand to her head as if she was fainting. Drama queen. Little Aria stuck her tongue out at her twin sister. 

"Both of you hush and pay attention." their grandmother said sternly. They both went silent as their grandmother took the bubbling golden liquid out of the pot and poured it into a glass vial. 

She walked out of the kitchen and gave the potion to the lady and looked her directly in the her eyes saying "Now child pour this into whatever drink you want. It takes about two hours for it to fully work so stay patient and make sure he drinks it all." 

The lady went to grab the vial eagerly but grandmother pulled it back, "I mean it Sandra. All of it! DO you understand?" Grandmother asked her. 

"Yes Ms. Cora. THank you so much." 

Cora then turned to the girls "NOW" she yelled. Aria and Paige joined hands and began to say the spell. Once they were about done the lady began to shake and the vial turned lime green, causing the lady to drop it.

The lady knocked Cora to the side which caused her to hit her head on the table and become unconscious. She then began to scream a high pitch sound that was piercing through the girls ears. They were sure their eardrums were going to burst. Paige had their shield up in no time ceasing the sound immediately, while trying to project it to their grandmother. Cora was just lying there. Aria saw the knife her grandmother was using to chop some ingredients and threw it at the lady's neck. She fell to the floor and went to take it out, just as Paige moved the potion with her mind and onto the lady. They watched as the potion turned her to ash before them. Paige ran over to her grandmother and sang the healing chant to heal her. Both girls were crying, thinking they would have no one now. No parents, who sacrificed their lives for them and now no grandmother. She just wanted them to become stronger so they could protect themselves and each other. 

It was not until Cora was saying "Great job girls. Next time don't wait on me to show what it is, you have to know. Stay focus at all times." She then began to get up.

 "Yes grandmother", they said in unison.

There was a amethyst necklace floating to the right and directing Aria towards the stairs. She grabbed the necklace at the same time she entered her room, and the vision was over. Aria was standing in front of her dresser looking at the necklace and notice a purple notepad sitting beside her jewelry box. Two other identical amethyst necklaces sat there. Wait two more she thought as she picked up the note and reading it:

My Dearest Aria,

          I knew you would be the one to find this. These belong to you and your sisters. I have been looking for Grace your oldest sister for a very long time. You three are triplets. Similar yet different. If you have found this it is the right time and date for you to find both Grace and Paige and you will. Have faith in your magic not just your power. Everything will come to you at the right moment to find them. When you were just a baby I knew then how strong you were. I tried to protect you girls from the world but Grace had been taken after the explosion. You are so much stronger than I have even been. Get everything you need and leave immediately. You know what you need, just breathe and trust yourself. Do not stay longer than one night, they are coming. Hurry Aria your sisters need you.

She was confused & frustrated. Why had her Grma not warren her or prepare her for  this? Why had she not seen it coming herself? All these years & her first episode started when Darren showed up. Why was that? She had dreams mini visions but not full blown ones. She moved down stairs leaving the note but taking the necklaces. Who was this Grace? She isn't in any pictures or any of her memories. Why would she not remember?

As Aria descended the stairs she was watching Darren. Flashes of pictures surrounded her. He was human of course, a great PI and trained with the best. They went to the same academy The Strong & Willing. He graduated a year before her. Aria didn't know him but everyone knew her. She wanted to change lives and blend in with the humans. She also wanted to help them see there was good in everything. The academy only saw weapons, so she escaped and became a teacher to first graders. Got married and started a family. She got all of that just from looking at Darren. Her memories were coming back, slowly.

Darren was looking through books, spells, recipes anything to find Paige. He didn't understand much of it especially since most of it was in an ancient language & in riddles.

 He looked up saw Aria coming & said "check this out Cora had a lot of resources that can help us". 

He gave Aria a spell to teleport. She just stared at him & said "Darren how do you know-" she was cut off by a loud bang only she could hear. 

"Aria are you ok?" Darren asked. 

She was having another episode and this one was stronger than the last. She was walking toward the couch when all of a sudden it stopped. She let out a sigh but then fell to her hands and knees as the episode took full control of her body but this wasn't an episode.
