* Book 1 of The Alpha Mate Series *

Jordan is a simple, very simple Arts teacher, who lives the same routine every day after his divorce with his wife, but it all goes downhill on a day when he finds an abandoned puppy in an alley.

The little one that he took home turns out to be, a Werewolf pup, and not just any Werewolf pup, he was the oldest son of the Alpha Liam, a powerful CEO that the professor had seen on TV before, however, it was just the beginning of the changes in his life.

The newly widowed man decided that he was the new nanny for his children after calling him Mate, a word that Jordan had heard before, but that he didn't know what it meant for the Werewolves.

Was it possible that romance would bloom between the clueless Teacher and the cold-hearted Alpha? Or was that mating destined to fail even before it started while someone in the shadows still wanted to end Liam's life by revenge, and kidnapping his pup was just the beginning?

Crying in the Darkness
Prologue - Past...     ... Simple...  It seemed to be just another simple day as the young man put the last box on the nearly packed table. He didn't have so much stuff after his divorce, yet the few things that he had seemed to fill the small apartment that he would now call home, far away from the hometown he was born... Not wanting to waste time, he started opening that same box, soon coming across an old portrait that had been taken less than a year ago.   ... In the picture were him, a beautiful young woman with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes, and a small baby that slept in his arms, and had a similar light blonde hair to his when he was young... Everything still seemed like a distant dream to him, a forgotten memory that he didn't want to remember while he was in there alone, no longer having a family beside him. Of course, that a life as someone's husband was something he never thought he would have, but he loved every minute spent with her and their baby. Every second spent with them made him forget that one day he believes he couldn't have his own family due to all his failed relationships in the past, and he loved it... But it was over now...   ... His sweet dream was just a simple memory that had ended badly... As much as he didn't want to believe it, that was his life now, and he wasn't used to it yet, forcing a lonely tear to run down his face before the portrait was removed from his hands brutally. "RIA! What are you doing?!" Turning to the Latin woman who was there with him, he spoke indignantly, trying to take it back from her. "As much as I don't like it like you, the past must be left in the past. Or if not, what is the reason why you decided to move to this place hidden in the middle of the woods, so far from the beach, or anything related to the sea? " She challenged him, but they both knew that she was right. As much as Jordan didn't like the idea, Ria was telling the truth. He had decided to move to that town because nothing about the place reminded him of his hometown or the family he once had. ... But sadly, he wasn't the only one feeling broken while dealing with his life... Far away, almost on the other side of the country as night started to fall, the feelings of all the members of the Pack became as dark as the sky, where one of them joined other stars while a newborn pup cried. ... The owner of the strong voice seemed to know what was going on around her, even though she had just arrived in the world, crying even louder while the nurse tried to calm her down. The young woman's eyes seemed to want to cry too like the baby as they traveled between the dead figure in the bed and the man in the corner of the room, who had kicked out everyone else from the room...The baby's father was so lost like the nurse in there while crouching on the floor, running his hands through the hair almost as if he wanted to pull the strands from his head. The feelings in his chest were hard to describe in between everything... He didn't know if he could cry as he wanted, or if that would be a sign of weakness, something that he couldn't do in front of his Pack as their lead.   ... Yet he loved her so much... She was his best friend, the mother of his children, his right arm while dealing with the Pack in all the years that he never found his Mate, but now she was gone... As much as he didn't want to blame himself, he felt it was his fault. If he had never accidentally suggested that it would be good for their son to have another sibling, she would never have lost her life giving birth to the little pup that continued to cry, further afflicting the others who were waiting outside for any news. ... Her family, his family, the dominant wolves, the other members of the Pack, they all waited outside for any news about what had happened to their Alphas... Slowly he got up from the cold floor, taking a deep breath, his eyes met the dead figure of his wife, who seemed to be sleeping now that the pool of blood in between her legs was hidden, even though the light cloth was soon dyed by the red liquid too... Walking over to the nurse who had his daughter in her arms, his heart seemed to have frozen down like the air in the room, leaving his face that used to be known for his beautiful smiles without any emotion as he looked at the pup.  She looked exactly like her. The same small nose, the same brown hair, even the same oval face that she possessed, he was more than sure that she would grow up to become a beautiful she-wolf as she was, even if he hadn't seen yet if they shared the same blue eyes.   "Lucy..." Frightening the nurse, the Alpha spoke out of nowhere, caressing the baby's face, which immediately fell silent as if she recognized her father's smell. "Her name is Lucy." He said one last time, looking at the young woman before leaving the room, ignoring the others who called out for him when he went to his office, where he spent the rest of the week locked in his grief... A feeling that Jordan also knew so well. Not wanting to see anyone, not even his newborn daughter, the Alpha only allowed his son and his Beta to enter the room, leaving there only in one evening in between everything... And that was the day of his wife's funeral. It took almost a month before the Pack could see their leader again, but the man they encountered in that morning was no longer the same they had known for years... The Alpha Liam, now was cold as ice, his smile reserved only for his eldest son, showing up only in rare moments that he spent time with the boy. ... Now even the Pack was no longer the same... The hallways that once were full of life and joy, now were quiet and soundless, as the veil of mourning were yet covering their land. Maybe if he wasn't their Alpha, things would be different, he could choose to move away as Jordan had done to forget his past, but that wasn't an option for Liam... ... And it wasn't always the best choice... The young man who lived far from everyone he knew, comprehended it very well now... Even though he was away from everyone, the past continued to torment Jordan's mind in the same way that it did to Liam's mind every time he looked at his daughter or heard her cry, making him unable to hold her in his arms as he wanted. The past was always hard, and sometimes only similar pains could help another to move on... But sadly, Fate didn't want to help them this time, putting their other halves so far away in a time that they needed each other so much while they cried likewise in the darkness.
