Chapter 27We left In Salah Airport just before dawn. I called Sam, "Hey Sam, I just wanted to check in for an update on your status."
Sam reported, "All is quiet. We are cleaning up after breakfast and should be heading back to the roadway within maybe 20 minutes."
I said, "If you even slightly suspect something out of the ordinary, take action immediately. Also, keep us updated. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to turn our helicopter around and help. We are planning on stopping for fuel at the Noumerat - Moufdi Zakaria Airport in Ghardaia, and then arrive at the Algiers International Airport Houari Boumediene by dusk. I'm not sure whether we will immediately take the 747 to Tamanrasset tonight or wait until morning. We'll figure that out once we arrive in Algiers."
