His eyes were so red it looked like the flames of hell burned right behind them. "Do you even have any idea how lucky you are? You know what would have happened to you if I didn't come here? If Ethan didn't get to talk to them the way he did? Do you realize that you could have been thrown in jail for this?"
All this because of what Sophia had said.
I tried to think of what I could have done wrong, but I couldn't think of anything, not at all. I had been abducted, and all they could do about it was to tell me I was lying.
I damn well should have expected that, but Sophia always had a way to get to me no matter what.
