ZAIN POV
“Daddy what did she say?” my little naughty child asked as I walked into his room.
“She agreed to being your nanny. But remember the agr…….”
Before I could complete my sentence, he ran out of the room with so much joy.
I kept standing in his room, wondering if I made the right choice or not.
Keeping her in this house is a bad idea, but then I had no other choice because Kinn refused to eat after I brought him back home.
He stayed in his room crying, and when I tried to convince him to eat, he refused to listen to me.
He spent the whole night without taking a bite of food.
I couldn’t help but panic because I didn’t want him to starve to death.
This is why I had no other choice but to allow the one person I didn’t want alive to be his nanny instead.
But first, I need to watch her closely. I still don’t know her agenda in this pack. Who knows, maybe she is just a spy trying to act all innocent.
I went downstairs to see what was going on.
I stood still and watched as Kinn was showing her something on his iPad. They were both smiling as they were discussing in tiny voices.
Unconsciously, I began to observe the rogue.
She looks different from how I met her in the cell.
After washing up all the dirt on her body, she looks a bit presentable. Although she looks so slim. I could see her collarbone sticking out a little.
Either she is naturally slim, or she is hasn’t been eating well.
Wait a minute, why am I even thinking of that?
It isn’t my business what goes on in her life.
“Well get ready because soon everything is going to change.” Zander smiled as he admired her with a drool dropping from his mouth.
I let out a disgusted look, wondering if that is actually my wolf or if he has been swapped.
He is acting so weak, and I am not comfortable with that.
“Nita do you want to see my cars? Daddy bought me two cars. I can take you on a ride.” Kinn said, smiling.
I looked at the kid as I tried not to react.
I have asked him several times to take me on a ride in his cars, but he refused. He has never allowed anyone to enter his car, yet this strange woman who just came from nowhere is given the opportunity to go on a drive with him.
Why do I feel so betrayed at the moment?
I heard the front door opening, making me raise my stance as I waited to see who it was.
“Kinnnnn where are you??? Uncle Lewis is back, and he brings gifts.” I heard a familiar loud voice echo around the house.
My beta, who was on an official assignment, has just returned.
Unlike Damien, he is the playful one and loves to play a lot. This is why I like working with my gamma more than my beta.
Because of Lewis playful nature, he and Kinn click so perfectly well, and they love to play together. They never liked to be separated from each other.
Lewis walked to the living room with his hands filled with so many gifts.
“Hey Zain. Miss me?” he asked with a smirk on his face, clearly trying to get to my nerves.
“Shut up.” I growled.
“Awwn I missed you too.” he smiled before he turned to look at Kinn.
“Kinn didn’t you see me? Who is the new friend?” he asked, looking at the rogue.
Kinn reluctantly left her and rushed to greet Lewis.
“Uncle Lewis, welcome back. Can you please drop my gifts in my room. I am not done playing with Nita.” he said.
“Nita? Who is Nita?” Lewis asked, looking confused.
Kinn pointed at her.
“She is Nita. Only I get to call her Nita. You can call her Anita. She is my new friend and nanny.” he announces so happily.
“Ohhh I see.” Lewis sounded down.
He turned to me.
“Help me let’s take this to his room.”
I could tell he wanted me to go with him so we could talk.
Kinn ran back and sat down beside his nanny while Lewis and I went to his room to drop the toys before heading to my bedroom.
The moment the door was shut, he turned to face me.
“Explain to me what the hell is going on? What happened in my absence? And what is a f*****g rogue doing in your house? I thought you hate rogues.” he threw different questions at me.
“Look this matter is so complicated. I wish I can do something to throw her out of my house this very minute but I can’t.” I sighed.
“Then what is going on and what is the relationship between Kinn and her?” he asked.
“Kinn is the reason why I can’t send her away or kill her.” I answered.
“I am lost. What exactly happened. Tell me everything and don’t leave anything behind.” he said sounding so serious.
I narrated everything that happened from the very beginning to the end. I also told him about her being my mate since Damien knows about it.
“That is crazy. So crazy. So you are saying all this happened in just few days? But do you know who she is and where she is coming from?” he asked.
“I didn’t bother to ask all that because I was trying to change Kinn’s mind but I couldn’t.” I answered.
“You need to know everything about her. We can’t say for now if she is a good person or not. We have to investigate first so that we can be sure that Kinn is in the right hands. We can’t just sit back and judge her based on her facial expression. She might have a dangerous motive inside.” he said.
“I am actually working on that. She seems secretive though.” I replied.
“So are you okay with her being Kinn’s nanny?” he asked.
“Do I look like I am okay? Anytime I see her, I wish I could squeeze her life off her. I can’t explain how angry I felt when I found out she is my second chance mate. I just can’t accept it.” I squeezed my fist angrily.
“But how are you cope with her around? I mean the mate bond and all? You know it is hard to ignore her especially when she is your mate?” he said.
“I have spent more than three whole years without a mate. I know how to live without one so I am sure I can overcome the so called mate bond.”
I felt so confident saying that.
“Hahaha only if you know.”
Zander dropped a remark like he was mocking me.
“Also try to monitor her relationship with Kinn. We can’t have her poisoning his mindset.” Lewis added.
The moment I opened my mouth to speak, I heard a loud laugh coming from the window.
I rushed to the balcony to see what was going on.
“Am I the only one seeing this, or are you seeing this too?” Lewis asked as he stood beside.
We both looked dumbfounded as we watched what was happening down.
“But I thought Kinn never allowed anyone near his car? Why is she in his car?” he asked again.
“He asked her earlier before you entered. I didn’t expect that he would actually let her in.” I answered.
“They both look like they are having fun.”
Lewis was right. They were both having fun as Kinn was driving around. Their laughter filled the whole place.
“I don’t want to be jealous, but this girl is about to take our Kinn away.” Lewis whispered.
“Not on my watch. My son isn’t going anywhere. I must find out who she is. Lewis, get the private investigator.” I told him.
He went back to the room to get his phone while I continued watching.
She raised her head and her eyes found me.
I kept a strong face as I kept looking at her.
Her eyes softened and she gave me a smile before she turned her head.
Her smile felt like a threat to me.
What exactly does it mean?
Could she be plotting something bad?
