CHAPTER 7

ANITA POV

I lazily opened my eyes, and the first thing I saw was the relection of the sun all over the room.

I sat up from the bed and stretched my hands feeling so light and happy.

I just spent my first night in the alpha King’s house.

My sleep last night was amazing. I touched the bed, and I instantly smiled. This bed is the best bed I have laid on. I had a peaceful night, which is something I have been wanting to have for years now.

I will love to keep enjoying this benefits but right now, I have nanny duties to do.

I am not complaining about being the little kid’s nanny. In fact, I am more than happy to take care of him.

That child is so fun to be with.

Only because of him I don’t mind staying here at all.

I heard a soft knock on the door.

“Yes come in.”

The door opened, and the lady of yesterday who served us dinner walked in. I recall her name to be Clara.

“Good morning miss. I was sent by the alpha to come get you. You are needed in his office.” Clara said.

“Alright. Can you give me two minutes to prepare then I will go with you?” I asked.

“I will be waiting. But you need to be fast about it because we can’t keep the alpha king waiting.” she answered.

I quickly got out of the bed and rushed to get ready. I finished and hurriedly arranged my bed before we walked out of the room together.

As we walking to the office of the alpha, I looked around and observed everywhere. I haven’t gone on a tour yet and I know better than to ask Clara to take me around.

But I am sure of someone who will be more than willing to take me around.

That is Kinn.

I wonder if he is awake now or still sleeping?

“This is the door to his office. You can knock and go in.” Clara said then left me infront of a big door.

“Ari are you ready to face him?” I asked my wolf.

“Right now I don’t care anymore what he thinks about us. We need to be strong for ourselves so whatever happens, I say we stand our ground.” she said.

I took at deep breath then knocked the door.

I heard a faint ‘come in.’

I opened the door and walked in.

I was expecting to see him alone in his office but I saw he had guests.

One was a familiar face and the other, well I saw him briefly yesterday but didn’t see him for long.

I stood in front of the desk of the alpha king and looked at him.

“You sent for me.” I said.

“Is that how to greet?” he asked glaring at me.

“I am sure you don’t need my greeting so why bother.” I answered.

“You are rude you rogue. Have some respect for our alpha.” the not so familiar face said.

Ari was so close to growling at him for speaking to us like tha.

“I was just answering his question. What’s rude in what I just said. Besides who are you to speak for alpha? Are you his mouthpiece or something?” I asked challenging him with my eyes.

He let out a growl and release some kind of aura.

It then hit me that I just spoke harshly at the beta.

But it is too late to surrender or act scared. I can’t lose to him.

“Lewis don’t waste time on her..Let’s get to business because I want her out of my sight.” the alpha king said.

“The feeling is mutual.” I said under my breath.

His cold glare deepens making me to realise that he might have heard me.

“Listen rogue, I don’t care who you are but in this place, we show respect to our alpha and you are expected to respect us also. I am Lewis the beta and he is Damien the gamma. You should never repeat how you spoke just now to any of us or else you will be punished.” Beta Lewis said.

He sounded like he has a problem with me.

Unlike Gamma Damien, he seems to like to talk a lot.

I nodded because I didn’t want my mouth to get me into trouble again.

“So tell us your full name and where you come from.” Beta Lewis said.

“My name is Anita and I am rogue.” I answered.

“Hey rogue, don’t act stupid here. I said your full name and where you come from.” he growled.

I couldn’t tell them my surname or else they would trace where I am coming from. My dad is quite popular because he is a beta. I am sure they will be able to find out I am his daughter if I tell them my surname.

I don’t want my parents to find out where I am. It will cause a lot of issues which I am not ready to face.

“My full name is Anita Grey.” I lied.

“Why do I feel like you are lying to him?” he asked.

“Think whatever you want. I have told you my full name and that’s just it.” I answered him back.

“I will leave it as that. But the moment I find out you are lying, you will be in big trouble. We see liars as criminals in this pack.”

“Which pack do you come from before you became a rogue?” this time Alpha Zain asked.

“I can’t remember.” I looked down trying to avoid his face.

“You are lying. You are hiding something from us. Spill it right now.” the beta said raising his voice.

I raised my head to look him with a cold look on my face.

“I said I can’t remember. I know I am a rogue and nothing more.” I said raising my voice a little.

“I can never believe anything that comes out of a rogue’s mouth.”

“And I don’t care.” I answered back.

The door opened making me to turn.

I was expecting to see a group of guards walking in to come get me.

I was relieved to see it was Kinn who was rubbing his sleepy eyes.

The moment I saw him, I began to calm down.

“Daddy I can’t fi…… NITAAA!!!!!”

He ran to me when he opened his eyes and saw me.

I smiled and hugged him.

“Hello little man. I hope you slept well?” I asked him.

“Yes I did. I was expecting to see you beside me when I woke up. I am just coming from your bedroom. When I didn’t see you, I got scared and thought you left.” he said.

I smiled and brushed his scattered blonde hair from his face.

“There is no way I will leave you. I was just having a conversation with your daddy.”

He looked up and smiled at his dad.

“Good morning daddy.” he greeted.

“Finally someone remembered he has a dad.” Alpha Zain said.

“Go to him.” I whispered into Kinn’s ear.

He obeyed and went to him. As they were talking, I turned to look round his office.

It was bigger than the office in my alpha’s house.

What do I expect?

He is the Alpha King after all.

As I was looking around, my eyes accidentally fell on the beta and gamma.

Damien as usual had a straight face while Lewis was still glaring at me.

To annoy him the more, I smiled at him making sure my smile reached my eyes.

I was happy when I got a reaction from him.

Kinn distracted him as he went to hug him.

“Finally someone has remembered his uncle Lewis.” he smiled at Kinn.

“I missed you so much and thank you for the toys. I will play with them later with Nita.” Kinn said to his uncle making his smile to drop.

“But I bought it for just you.”

“Uncle Lewis remember you taught me it is good to share my things with people.” Kinn replied.

I bite my lips hard to stop myself from laughing at him. His teachings has backfired on him which is a good lesson for him.

“Daddy can I go with Nita? I need to prepare for school.” the kid asked.

“You both can leave.” the alpha ordered.

I held Kinn’s hand and walked out of the office.

As I closed the door, the last thing I heard from the office was;

“I told you we can’t trust her. Soon we will find out her real identity after we get reports from the private investigator.”
