Ember's POV The line had flattened for more than five minutes now, but I still stood there, as still as a statue, staring at my phone in disbelief. A second later, my face twisted with anger and disgust, contorting so badly it grabbed Mira's attention. Like always, she'd heard the entire conversation and the moment I gritted out in anger, saying, "Who the hell gave that bastard the right to apologize on my behalf, Mira hissed as well.
