"Steffie get up! We are going to be late for school!" Kim shouts in my ear trying to wake me up causing me to fall out of bed. "What the hell Kim?!" I ask rubbing my butt, damn that hurt. Looking up at Kim I realize she is already dressed, I'm going to be late for school again, fudge! I need to get up. Tripping over my blankets I hurry to the shower to get ready for school while Kim laughs at me. "Shut up Kim!" I have a quick shower, brush my teeth and get dressed. My hair is wet but I have no time to blow dry it so I just do a messy bun. God I hate rushing like this but I seem to do this all the time. I'm a night owl so I'm up all night and love sleeping in. Kim checks me out and starts laughing again. "What is it now?" I ask throwing my hands in the air. " Well are you really going to school with that on?" she says.  I look down at my clothes in confusion. "What's wrong with what I have on?" I have a purple T-shirt on, jeans and sneakers. " Well those jeans have a big ass whole in them and it's over your butt." Kim says. What? No! I look in the mirror and she's right. Argh I forgot I ripped them two days ago! Thank goodness for best friends. I hurry and get another pair of jeans and change. We run down the stairs together and out the door to her car. We get in and start driving to school. On the way we stop to get something to eat, her being a wolf she's always hungry, I'm human and if I had to eat at much as she does then I would be three times my weight now. I'm a healthy weight and would like to stay that way. Kim and I have been best friends since birth, our moms had us a few hours apart, weird I know but they found out they were pregnant together and it just happened that we were born on the same day because I was born a month before I was due. Once at school we head to our lockers and get our books for the first period which is English. We have most of our classes together so walking to our class we talk about our upcoming birthday in 2 weeks. We always have our party together, even before my parents passed away. We are glued to the hip if you know what I'm saying.Opening the door to our class, I walk in, not paying attention and bump into someone, dropping all my books.Gasping I quickly turn my attention ahead of me and start apologizing to the person I bumped into. " I am so sorry! I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going, I'm so, so sorry! Let me help you" Keisha just looked at me like I was the most annoying person in the world.  "Are you retarded or what?!" she screamed.  Hell chick, it wasn't on purpose for goodness sakes.  She pushed me aside and walked away. Leaving me there rolling my eyes at her. Damn drama queen! If you were wondering, she's the queen bee of our school and a bully. Picking my books up I head to my set. As I sit down our teacher Mrs Jones starts the lesson.  Classes goes by quickly and we are heading for lunch. Kim and I have other friends and we like to spend time with them, the only thing is…. she's a cheer leader… and popular, whereas I am not popular because I'm human. I'm the only human in this school and I tend to hang out with the other outcast.  Sitting down at my usual table I say hi to my friends Stacy, Natasha, Brandon and Tommy. They are all mates, Stacy is Tommy's mate and Natasha is Brandon's mate. I wish I had a mate! The love they share I could only wish for! They are so cute together. We talk about our day and Stacy asks about the party for my birthday.  "Hey Steffie! Please tell me you and Kim are still throwing us a party for your birthday?" "Of course we are!  You know us, we always do!" I tell her. "You guys always throw the best parties" Natasha says with the biggest smile on her face. The bell rings, ending lunch. Walking to my locker to get the next classes books, I see Kim talking to the Alphas son, Donavon. She's so hoping to be his mate, I think most of the girls are hoping they are. I get my books and head to my math class. Walking in, I take my seat and to my surprise our beta, Ben, sits next to me. What the hell is going on?  He would never sit next to me! Like never ever." Hey Steffie" he greets me. He is talking to me, what!?! He knows my name? What the hell is going on?
