CHAPTER SEVEN

965 Words
I heard my dad shouting and I was shocked to hear him call out Greyfield's name. I went to the parlour to make sure that I was not over thinking. I was not. He was actually outside the house, holding some smoothie and a basket full of cookies. Actually my favourite. What was he doing here? Did he came to give those to my family? What was he thinking?  I stood there not knowing what to do. I could hear how my dad was shouting at him. I was worried about him. My dad could do anything to him. I don't know what he has done to them to deserve it. I could not take the shouts anymore. I went to the front of my dad, facing him to block him from Greyfield. Everyone was surprised, including Greyfield. Truthfully, I was scared also. "Enough, dad, that is enough. What has he done? He just came to bring some cookies and smoothie. Why do you have to shout at him for that?" My dad looked at me, angrily. Am sure, after this, I was going to die. "Leela, before I open my eyes get out of here, NOW AND GO TO YOUR ROOM!" He said calmly at first but raised his voiced toward the end of his speech, with his eyes closed. "No!" I shouted back, knowing that I was in a big trouble. "Leela, listen to your father and get out of the way." My mom spoke quietly, with pity in her voice. "No, mom am not going to leave and pretend as if nothing happened. You guys always ignore me anytime I talk or ask you guys about him, now you are shouting at him, for what reason you guys refused to talk about. NO, I WON'T LEAVE!" I said with tears coming out of my eyes. I was hurt. "LEELA!" My dad shouted. Before anything happened, I took Greyfield's hand and ran away.  >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I was on the swing with Greyfield on the other swing, beside me. In the park. We sat there quietly. I was lost in my thoughts. 'Why will my dad do this? What is it that they are keeping from me? What has Greyfield done to them? Why do they want me to keep away from me?' a lot of questions kept on flooding to my head. "Am sorry" Greyfield spoke first, breaking the long silence between us. "For what?" I asked confused. "For everything" "Everything? I don't understand. You have not done anything wrong Grey. My father is at fault. I can't believe what he did. I should be the one apologizing now." "No," He trailed off for something "You won't understand" "Understand what?" "It is a long story, I think we should go home. The sun will soon set." He said standing up, ready to leave. "No" I said pushing him to sit down, back on the swing. "We will not leave here untill you tell me that long story you are keeping away from me." "Leela…"  "No" I cut him off "I hate it when people keep thing away from me." He signed before adjusting himself on the swing.  "I don't know where to start from." "Just start, from anywhere, as long as it still will tell the truth" "We…" He trailed off again, as if he was trying to remember, what happened. I nodded signaling him to continue. "We were best friends when we were little" he gave out a dry laugh, as if it was funny. " Our parents were also good friends, at times, we go outside to play." He paused again, trying to recollect somethings. "So, one-day, we were playing outside, like usual." He said whimpering. "We decided to play hide and seek, after sometime, it was my turn to count and yours to hide. When I was done counting, I went to look for you only to see you unconscious on the ground with a car speeding off. I went to call our parents, which were talking in the parlour of your house. We rushed you to the hospital. Thankfully, you were still breathing and alive. The doctor said that, if we have not bring you earlier, you would have been dead. You were on coma for two months. During that time, your dad told me and my family to never meet or talk you." He stopped and I was surprised to see him in tears. "It is all my fault. I should have be with you." I was speechless. I could not think of anything. "We later found out, after some months, that you had amnesia."  "G-Greyfield, i-it is not your fault." "No, no. It's all my fault. I should be there to protect you. I should have be the one hitten by that car, maybe all this won't have happened" "Shut up, Greyfield. It is not your fault. How could you have know that something was going to happen to me, that time? How could you have protected me? We were little. It is all my dad's fault. He should not have accused you and your family. No body would have know that something like that would happen. Wipe your tears. Let go home, it getting late." I said wiping his tears away.  I knew that my parent will be angry at me, when I get home, but that is not my main concern. They must answer all my questions and not ignore me this time. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: chpter seven. Yay!  it was really intense.
