Ch 11

Dianna’s Point Of View

The Next Day…

6:15 pm

I have less than one hour until I have to be ready. My hair was done, I took a shower and did my makeup which took up a lot of time but I looked very beautiful. The doorbell rang while I was on my phone texting Melyssa. It couldn’t be Aries because he told me that he will be leaving his house by 6:10 pm and I am sure. I grabbed my purple robe and headed out of my bedroom to the front door. I looked through the peephole and saw Chad standing there. I frowned deeply and opened the door.

“Oh hey beautiful,” He greeted, smiling widely. I scrunch my face in disgust.

“Why are you here at my house?” I asked him, confused. His eyes trailed down my legs and then back up to my face.

“I came to get my things. I am sure you don’t mind having me in your presence right now,” He said, stepping further into my apartment, his chest close to mine. I laughed at his antics because he is funny and obviously stupid. A bit too cocky if I must say.

“Chadrick, the things you had here are what I bought for you. The red shirt that you had, I burned it because we are not together and I will be damned if I have you coming into my house to claim the things I bought for you. So I would really love it if you take a step back and get the f**k out,” I stated.

“Dianna, are you f*****g kidding me right now? You burned my $8,000 shirt because I dumped you? Are you f*****g serious?” He asked me. I leaned against the doorframe and laughed.

“Of course I did. I spent more than $100,000 on you so you will live. And get a f*****g reality check, Chad. I dumped you after you showed up here trying to explain yourself. You are a poor excuse of a man and trust me when I say this, I am glad you cheated because then I wouldn’t be going tonight with the date that I chose,” I said, smiling. He frowned slightly, a bit of confusion taking over his face.

“Who are you even going with?” He asked.

“You really need to leave and I won’t tell you again,” I told him.

“I said I need my things. My jewelry and the ring my dad gave me,” He demanded. I stepped aside and let him in because I knew why that ring mattered so much to him.

“You can stay here while I go get your ring and don’t touch my things,” I stated, walking away from him. I went into my bedroom and then into my closet.

A few moments after looking through my jewelry box, I found all of his jewelry including a watch I bought him for his birthday. I grabbed the bag that I had packed with his things which also had his favorite shirt in it. Of course, I didn't burn them but I wanted him to leave, so I brought the bag out and handed it to him.

“So you still have them after all,” He said.

“You can leave now,” I told him. He was about to say something when the doorbell rang. I opened the door and my jaw almost dropped.

When Aries said he was going to wear his black suit with just a pocket square, I knew he would look handsome but now he was wearing something completely different. He had his usual black suit but he wore an emerald green shirt underneath it with a black bow tie. His hair wasn’t even blonde anymore. It was dark brown and parted in the middle. His eyes looked bluer than before. Good God this man is so beautiful.

“You’re not ready,” Were the words that left his lips. His eyes trailed down my body and stopped at my chest, then he raised an eyebrow with a small smirk on his lips. I looked down at my clothes and my bra was exposed along with the top of my breast.

“Just give me 10 minutes please,” I said, covering up and my cheeks flushed.

“The car is waiting, so make sure it is 10 minutes, Dianna,” He said to me.

“The car? I thought you were driving,” I said, confused.

“I was going to, but Tommy insisted that he take us,” Aries responded. I smiled and nodded.

“Well, I stand corrected. You have no date,” Chadrick said, his tone more teasing than anything. Before I could respond, Aries beat me to it.

“She does have a date. Me,” Aries told him. Chad shifted his gaze to Aries and then back to me.

“You can’t be f*****g serious Dianna. Are you going for him? The guy that clearly has feelings for you, our entire relationship?” He asked in disbelief and looked as if I betrayed him.

“It is funny that you think I care about your questions or will answer them. Get out of my house,” I told him. Aries walked in and held the door open for Chad. He grabbed his bag and walked towards the door. He then turned to me.

“I hope you have fun at the event,” He said, a teasing smile on his face. He walked out the door and Aries closed it.

“Go get ready. I will be waiting,” Aries said.

After I finished getting dressed, I pulled the bobby pins from my hair and watched the curls flow down to my waist. I grabbed my flower clip and pinned some of my hair up giving it a half up half down look with two strands hanging down my face. I put some perfume on and then grabbed my purse walking into the living room where Aries was standing with both hands in his pocket.

“Are you ready to go now?” He asked me. I nodded and smiled.

“Yes, and I took only 15 minutes,” I said. He grabbed my hand gently and we made it to the door.

“Yeah, 5 minutes more than you promised,” He said. I rolled my eyes playfully and laughed.

“Still better than taking 30 minutes,” I said to him.

We went down to the car and I greeted Tommy once I got into the car. The entire car ride, I couldn’t stop laughing because Tommy is very funny and he makes Aries annoyed. Another thing I noticed though was that Aries kept glancing at me and he was smiling. The car came to a stop and the chaos outside made me realize that we are at our destination.

“Okay, big guy. I have this earpiece you gave me,” Tommy said.

“He is playing bodyguard for the night?” I asked.

“Watch it, Future Queen. I don’t play dress up but I am helping your security team tonight,” Tommy said. He has been calling me that since we met.

“Okay, well let’s go now,” Aries said, just as his side of the door was opened by one of the bodyguards.

The cameras started flashing instantly and when got out, his hand fell to the small of my back. We made it inside and Lora spotted me immediately. She smiled widely and made her way over to me. I almost rolled my eyes but smiled nonetheless.

“Dianna, it’s always so good to see you. This dress is so beautiful on you,” She said, kissing my cheek.

“Thank you for having me, Lora,” I said, planting a kiss on her cheek. We pulled away and she turned and looked at Aries, biting her bottom lip seductively.

“Aries, you clean up nicely. The other bodyguards are having fun by the bar. You should too,” Lora said, resting her hand on his. His arm snaked around my waist, holding me tighter and then he smiled.

“Actually, I am off duty tonight. I am Dianna’s date,” Aries responded. Lora laughed and rubbed his hand.

“You are so funny,” She said to him.

“He is not joking. Aries is my date,” I told her. I watched as her smile wavered and then she sighed.

“Well you two have fun tonight. Even if it is just for tonight,” She said, walking away. I rolled my eyes and started walking to where the photographer was taking pictures.

“That woman is insufferable and a total b***h,” Aries said. I laughed and waited while the couple before us took their picture.

“That she is. And she wants to sleep with you and for reasons unknown to me. You are not even her type,” I said. He looked down at me and raised an eyebrow.

“What makes you think that?” He asked, walking forward.

“Because she is into men with millions or billions at the end of the accounts,” I told him. He chuckled and leaned down to my ear.

“Maybe she is attracted to me and not my money. She is already dating a millionaire,” He whispered. I laughed and looked up at him.

“Whatever Mr Greenwood,” I said.

When it was our turn to take pictures, Aries didn’t stop whispering in my ear about Lora being attracted to him. He stated how flattered it was on his end and made sure to clarify he did not have feelings for her at all but she is pretty. In a few of the photos, he was kissing my cheek while cupping my face. It made my heart flutter and I brushed it off with a smile. We entered the party with everyone else and I went to talk to some people that I know while he went to get us champagne.

About two hours into the party, I was sick to the stomach and annoyed. Lora suggested that Aries went and talk to the ‘men’ so we girls could talk. She kept bragging about the new closet her husband is arranging for her because she has too many designer clothes. I rolled my eyes occasionally and looked over to where Aries was. He winked at me and I blushed, looking away. Lora caught the look he was giving me and looked at me.

“So Dianna, how are things with Chad? I meant to call and ask you how you’re doing. You must feel so insecure since he left you for your employee,” Lora said. Her voice held sympathy but I knew she didn’t care.

“I am doing great, Lora. I mean I am glad that Chad and I never had a serious commitment. No kids, no joint accounts, or any house together so dumping him was easy. He did not leave me for Jessica. He came by and begged me to understand and forgive him then I dumped him,” I stated. She will not get a rise out of me.

“It must be sad to admit that he didn’t want any children with you. I spoke to Jessica the other day and she said that they are talking about having children,” Lora said.

“Lora, stop doing that. You are not making this any better. He cheated and Jessica was her friend,” Marian said. She is Lora’s friend and one of the few that are not rich bitches.

“Marian, it is okay. Lora will not see a problem with Chad and Jessica f*****g behind my back because that is exactly how she ended up dating Marvin back in college only for him to cheat on her too and then dumped her. Let us hope that Steven doesn’t find out about you constantly flirty with Aries,” I said, walking away. I went to one of the waiters for another glass of champagne. I downed it, counting my 7th glass.

Tonight was a f*****g mistake. Chad was rubbing his relationship with Jessica in my face. Always making out when I am looking and it wasn’t even making me jealous. Just f*****g angry. I thought about all the events I have been to and he was kissing me like that while f*****g her. He makes me sick. A slow song started playing and I walked over to Aries, giving him a smile.

“May I have this dance please?” I asked him. The guys turned their attention to me and Steven smiled.

“Dianna, it’s so good to see you,” He said, pulling me into a hug and kissing my cheek.

“It is great to see you too but I need this dance with Aries before the night ends,” I said which earned me a chorus of laughter.

Aries took my hand and led me onto the dance floor. He spun me around to face him and I gasped in surprise. He placed his free hand on my back and pulled me flushed against him. I looked up at him and he leaned down to my ear, kissing it briefly. My eyes closed unintentionally and my lips parted.

“Chad is behind me and he is glaring,” Aries whispered.

“I don’t care about Chad,” I let out. He chuckled against my ear and a chill ran down my spine as I gripped his biceps.

“You said to make it seem as if we are dating. We haven’t shared an intimate kiss all night and your cheek kisses aren’t doing the trick,” He whispered again, slowly swaying our bodies.

“So you want us to kiss for real? On the lips?” I asked him. He pulled away from my ear, staring into my eyes.

“As long as we can both be mature about it not being more than it is,” He said to me. I smiled and nodded.

“Alright I guess,” I said to him

“And I am not doing this to make your ex boyfriend, jealous. This is because you wanted it to look more intimate in the public's eyes,” He told me.

“Sure, but do we—”

Before I could finish, he pressed his lips against mine in a soft kiss. My hand cupped the side of his neck and I slowly started kissing him back. A camera went off and we didn't dare pull away just yet. Well, I didn't want to. We pulled away after 10 seconds and he kissed my forehead. Nothing was said after that and we spent the rest of the night dancing in the middle of the room to whatever slow song came on.
