CHRIS STOPPED BY St. Vincent’s on the way home from Richard’s to see how Joe was doing. When he and Ted walked into Joe’s room, he was surprised that Charley wasn’t there.
“How’s the patient?” Chris said.
“Getting better every day.”
“I don’t think you’ve met my brother Ted. Ted, this is Charley’s friend Joe. He and Charley will be staying with us for a while.”
Joe and Ted shook hands.
“Speaking of Charley, where is he?” Chris said.
“He’s lost so much time from work while I’ve been in the hospital that he decided to work a double shift today to make up for it.”
“That’s right, he’s waiting tables while he works on his Master’s, but I don’t remember where,” Chris said.
